The way to get dramatic looks is to choose 2 colors that are opposite on the color wheel and try to make all of our colors fall between those two. In this instance, its an orangy red and a tealish green. You can use software to force colors to fall in those range. In professional software it's called an HSL qualification.
@balderstudio Well this is a 40Megabit per second h.264 in a .mp4 container. The magic isn't from the compression settings, its from the processing of the image by de-nosing and color grading.
The version broadcast on TV has a film grain pattern applied on top to make it look like it was shot on super 16mm film. In this upload we have no grain on it, since that kind of noise causes your image to break up quickly on YouTube.
Too bad I missed your debut on the Chiller Channel on Halloween! I am very impressed with your short film. I am looking forward to seeing the full length version of this movie
thanks for the compliments guys, it makes getting my throat slit worth all the while, and while my friends tony and alex may have their own production team, I promise we shot this bad boy gorilla style with just the five of us goofin' around for two evenings, we're just lucky enough to have the tools to fancy it up afterwards
lmao no kidding... i checked out the other guys on the credits and other than the actors, they're all professionals. Still an awesome job, but having dudes like that work on your film is like bringing pro ringers to a neighborhood football game. lol

Congratulations brother.. BTW When he first runs to the door when being chased, he doesn't try the door handle first, haha.
