Sure enough, in 2005 he succumbed to a rare form of Cancer. It is obvious to me he still has a devoted legion of fans. To them, my heartfelt regret. After watching a few of his videos, I can see the talent & energy. A great loss to his family, friends, fans & the music industry.
Interesting changes to the vocal phrasing - made it his, which is what a cover should do. Also, some interesting changes to the chords, and what I call the 'Kick Chorus' maintains the same feel and groove instead of a 'dynamics breakdown' as in the Tom Cochrane original.
The drummer is excellent and his snare sounds great. I will find out his name 'cause now I just have to know!

I don't understand why everyone hates Rascal Flatts's version of this so much. I'm not a big Rascal Flatts fan; I only know that song. As a guitarist, I guess I'm just kinda biased. I just really like what Rascal Flatts did with the song guitar-wise. It's a lot more exciting. I like what Chris LeDoux did vocal-wise. and what Cochrane did harmonica-wise. They're all good.

I didn't need to see this. I saw "Chris Ledoux" and for that only I'll take it. But there is the Cockraine version, which was enough "90s" as needed. This video is all "in your face", who knows why?
And I see there is a "rascal flats" version. I abhore it without any need to see.

Chris LeDoux actually had credibility, unlike most singers today. He wasn't just a singer, he was also a songwriter, independant label owner, and national rodeo champion.

Rascal Flatts are a great band, not sure where people get off comparing one to another. Chris is was and always will be what kept Country in the forefront and kept it true. Rascal Flatts appeal the "new age" country fans the younger bunch who don't know what it means or meant. Love Chris's version of this song, and Rascal Flatts added fun to a movie. Rascal FLatts isn't country and should have never touched this song. Tom might had done it first, but Chris to me always did the best version of it. People a had listen to this version agree it's better than Rascal's version. It saddens me most don't even know of Chris Ledoux anymore thanks to them just pushing him away completely almost.
