But this isnt a genre novel, its just exactly what it is, as close as we are ever going to get to understanding the historical pivot that was 1963. The Cuban missile crisis experienced in a Texan bar, The narrator being the only one who knows how it pans out, is among the best King Ive read. Thats saying a lot.

Alternate history fiction is a lot more popular now..both in books and films.
