  • Great points.

  • Now this is what I'm talking about. I love black woman

  • how can i workout three times a week and not worry about sweaty hair?

This is the reason why black women do not workout more...sweaty hair.

    Anybody with an answer?

  • @nognilk The answer would depend on whether your hair is chemically relaxed or buried under a weave - in both cases black women are reluctant to wash their hair everyday and so sweaty hair after a workout is a worry. But if your hair is NATURAL and LOCKED, sweaty hair is no worry at all. Naturally locked hair needs water on a daily basis to keep it hydrated, so going under the shower after a workout is exactly what natural hair needs to keep it refreshed, healthy and not ‘drying’ of thirst :-)

  • @KickWhitesOutAfrica good answer thanks!

  • @nognilk You're welcome Sis.

  • Why don't BLACK WOMEN who are qualified fitness trainers, make DVDs on fitness? Damn... all you lot ever do is CHAT about getting fit. GO MAKE SOME DVDs and make yourself some money in the process. Black women like me want to workout with my fellow Sistas. I want to do cardiovascular exercises, weight training and Yoga... WITH MY SISTAS. 99% of my exercise vids and DVDs are of white women. Sistas this is a great OPPORTUNITY for you to help your Sistas get into shape for 2012 and beyond.

  • @KickWhitesOutAfrica There are a few but not many, could be because they don't have the financial backing. Also, it is nearly impossible to find a black female trainer. I would love to workout and lift with someone that understands my physical makeup. A woman is ideal, but there aren't many where I live...mostly men.

  • @MultiplicityMe2 Thanks for responding Sis. There MUST be a group of black female trainers somewhere! Being a black woman who LOVES exercise and sports, I know there must be likeminded Sistas out there. I know the fitness industry is a very competitive market, but because black female trainers are practically non-existent, they have the best ADVANTAGE to make MONEY especially in YOGA which I have recently discovered came straight out of KEMET. Like you Sis, I want to workout with a SISTA :-)

  • @KickWhitesOutAfrica You're welcome. Yes, I would prefer a Sistah...but it is rare to find one that's a personal trainer. Believe me, I've been looking... Right now my choices are 95% men & two white women. I had a younger brother once, he wasn't bad... Still would like to meet up with some sisters.. right now I'm just lifting and training on my own..so I'll just keep looking until I link up with the right trainer (hopefully a sistah..lol) but I won't hold my breath.

  • @MultiplicityMe2 Sis, I would be quite content with a fitness DVD by a Sista that I could buy over the Internet. I don’t know if you’ve seen fitness vids/DVDs by Karen Voight because as far as I’m concerned she’s the best instructor I’ve come across so far. Her workouts are really effective. She doesn’t have an irritating voice and the music compliments the workout perfectly. How difficult can it be for a black woman fitness trainer to rent a comfortable studio for a day to record a workout?

  • @KickWhitesOutAfrica Melanie Brown from the Spice Girls has some exercise videos out. So does Donna Richardson. Unless someone has a "name" (ie Jane Fonda, Jillian Michaels, Tamilee Webb) an exercise video is not likely to sell much, so video companies are not going to spend money if there is no profit. It's not as simple as just filming some exercises. Look at Billy Blanks, he was somewhat known as a martial artist and actor. So he had a built in audience to begin with when he started Tae Bo.

  • @Musicvegan01 Thanks for your reply Sis, but I’m not looking to buy fitness DVDs from women who are already established in the fitness industry, I’m looking to support a Sista who is just starting out. I don’t see how creating a comfortable stage-set in your home to film two 20 minute vids with some simple drumbeats can be a difficult thing to do. If I were a qualified fitness trainer I would do it. If the response was positive to overwhelming I would make a DVD and sell it over the Internet.

  • @KickWhitesOutAfrica I understand what you're saying, but how big of an audience is there besides yourself and maybe a few others? Someone would have to invest money to produce and market videos and then make a profit. There's some Sistas with exercise videos on Youtube, but they don't get many views, yet "Charlie James 1975" get millions. There's not many non white workout videos with men or women. Most people are not going to buy someone unknown. Serena Williams has name recognition and is fit

  • @Musicvegan01 LOL - yes Sis you do have a point, but I guess things that are lasting usually began with little steps. I’m from the UK where seeing black women in a positive light is very rare, so if an unknown black woman were to create a fitness DVD SPECIFICALLY for BLACK WOMEN because of our unique body shape ie. big busts, arched backs, curvy bums, the DVD could well be a success in the UK. What are your thoughts on making a promotional fitness video on YouTube for Sistas to give feedback?

  • @Musicvegan01 you have a good point as well, you are doing the right thing! First we have to get our black women into fitness by creating video's about it as you have done, then the trainers have to be willing to start from scratch, you know make a couple of video's and just post them on youtube, kind of like these ppl who sing do, a lot of them get discovered, so the trainers can at least make some internet video's and start some where. hopefully we are on our way to being better!

  • @KickWhitesOutAfrica I agree sis...I would definately support any Sista just starting out...it also means we have someone who looks like us who knows more about our bodies, and we could actually see what we could potentially look like later on.

  • @Kushprincess66 My point exactly Sis. I have many exercise videos and DVDs but not ONE of them is of a black woman. The new millennium is in full swing and yet we Sistas still do not have one of our own to workout with and I think that is a terrible shame. Let’s hope 2012 will see us having a selection of fitness DVDs by black women to choose from :-)

  • @KickWhitesOutAfrica Thats a good point! althought there are some there are not many, ive seen donna richardson and that's old as dirt lol. so very good point!

  • @SEEKIN4BENEFIT Thanks. I've seen the Donna Richardson video too - very dated and I didn't like what she was wearing... her leotard was quite vulgar.

  • @KickWhitesOutAfrica -----I think the trade would be fine, the whites leave Africa and the blacks leave North America, is that what you are saying? If not, I would not mind seeing more of the chic on the left! I am white, so am I wrong? I think the one on the left is hotter than heck!

  • @Vindicator58 Marisa is the one I am talking about, what a fitness babe:)

  • It is nice to see black women who take care of their bodies and not let themselves go.

  • those ladies are HOT

  • GREAT JOB LADIES, FROM "A-GAME SPORTS DRINK"

  • r u kidding me. more brother's hit the gym than sister!

  • It is awesome that you took the time to post this video .... we are a beautiful people...we now have to become a more healthy people. Be blessed!

  • Nice video.

  • i want the lady on the left stomach, shoot the whole body!!!!!! ~ love it
