  • I am glad this part of the video was edited out, because it doesn't represent enough variety of women. We are strong intelligent, all of the good stuff.

  • Woman create the love vibration to bring peope together and chase away the dark

  • If Miss Representation is about how the media portrays women, why are all the women in the film thin? Could you find any fat people to talk about the subject?

  • @thelondonzoo I have to agree that there were a variety of ethnicities which was great, but I would have loved to have seen bigger women, older non celebrities as well. But the movie was amazing non the less.

  • Why is it only tiny women are represented here? Our bodies go from a size 00 up, why do we have to stay below size 4 in this video?

  • Woman are... great at making sandwiches :D just kidding :)

  • What makes all these qualities embedded in women, are these not personality traits? Just because you're female doesn't mean you're instantaneously strong and giving. What is this for?

  • I do not care for this video & feel you should delete if from You Tube. It does not send the same message as the movie or the 8 mt. trailer that I had sent out in my monthly newsletter to 800 subscribers. Women really liked the trailer & emailed me how they shared it with their daughters. Less not take a step backwards here.

  • As a 50 year old woman who has lived a grueling life and now is a severely & permanently disabled (thus forcibly retired) RN, BSN, clinical MSW, & MAT-educated elementary teacher, I have a very different perspective on what women are. To me, most women are often ignored, unappreciated, overworked, underpaid, devalued, treated as slaves, harassed, manipulated, terrorized, disregarded, forgotten, & left to clean up the messes of everyone else on the planet. And expected to do it all in high heels!

  • @RainbowExplorerRN and I think most of the women I personally know can and would agree with this.

  • People are so rediculous, saying we can do it in heels isn't downgrading- It says that we don't have to worry about what we wear- if you want to wear heels, or a suit and tie who really cares!? we need to stop looking at what a woman chooses to wear and look at the power inside her. And quite frankly I wish I could do what I do in heels, but I happen to be a major clutz so thats not going to happen! ;-)

  • if man were land; woman would be the sea

  • Miss Rep has said they will be releasing a dvd for purchase in early 2012 :)

  • This video is not nearly as powerful as the movie, but it doesn't detract from the Miss Representation message, which is that equality across genders does not yet exist.

Neither femininity nor masculinity should be seen as weakness because women and men are equally capable of amazing things. Since femininity has traditionally been seen as lesser than masculinity, promoting such traits as qualities to be admired makes sense, whether they be perseverance and empathy or sassiness and sensuality.

  • Do the "likes"mean they like the movie, or the trailer? I "like" @suzykahr's comment + feel it's difficult to get schools interested without a full length copy of the video. So, to pay @$90 for a single copy when what you want is to use it in multiple district screenings (@$300) is not effective. I plan to take a school administrator to see a showing on January the 6th, because that is the only time I can have access to the entire thing for review, even though they have declared interest Help!

  • sgsilver, you are wrong. I am a feminist, I am fierce, feisty, smart, educated, strong and independent. I am also sexy as hell, sassy as I want to be, and I LOVE wearing heels. Feminism does not mean that I give up my femininity. It means being whatever you want to be, regardless of what society tells you that you should be. Whether you want to do that iin heels, flip flops, or barefoot doesn't matter.

  • Yes, men are these things as well, the point is that not every man and woman realize that women are these things! So, it is necessary to get the message out that women can BE and DO whatever they want, just like men. I'm not gonna scold women and men who want to feel sexy, wear heals, etc. as long as the message is women do not need to feel inferior to men, and people, yes of both sexes, CAN and should pursue what they want in life without being discriminated based on their gender.

  • In HEELS? Shame on you Rosario. That sounds pretty damn sexist to me. I can't walk in heels. What does that make me? What about drag queens?

  • This video does not do the feminist movement justice. "Sexy, sassy... and they do it in heels"? Come on...

  • @sgsilver I have to agree, sexy sassy according to who's standards? Mens? Or from the individual women's point of view?

  • @sgsilver being a feminist is not a way to look like, but a way to think, it's more about the philosophy. So any woman can dress however they want to as long as they understand that they're doing it for themselves and not because of the society's pressure. Putting heels is not a statement.

  • I love what MissRepresentation is doing but I totally agree with SuzyKahr

  • Women are... human.

  • I agree with Suzy Kahr. The biggest mistake this movement is making is in not allowing the full DVD to be purchased and viewed by the millions who have not yet seen it. I've tried telling everyone I know about it, but my words are nothing compared to the actual documentary. WHEN WILL IT BE OUT ON DVD??? If I could buy it, I would give a copy out to everyone I know for Christmas. The trailer is okay, but not as powerful as the whole film. Big mistake not releasing it.

  • Stand up sistahs and together represent!

  • Keep up the good work, MissRepresentation!

  • I don't know about this video. I'm not really feeling "it" and it doesn't do the movie justice (which was epically amazing)... I think men are just as much (or can be) what women are and vice versa. It's okay to see men talking about floral arrangements, and women talking about power tools! More power to equality.

  • @SuzyKahr Exactly! Way too cliché for my taste - and by no means up to the standards of the movie :-(

  • more powerful than we know.

  • Let's all guess how long it takes before trolls misinterpret the point and start making kitchen jokes. :(

  • @ninestraycats agreed.

  • I have ridden in your cart, driver,

waved my nude arms at villages going by,

learning the last bright routes, survivor

where your flames still bite my thigh

and my ribs crack where your wheels wind.

A woman like that is not ashamed to die.

    I have been her kind.
