@ratratrati it can be cheap if u look for deals on websites like pink bike, and it can also be pain free if u take the time to practice on the easy trails and work your way up, also if u have all the pads it could help not to hurt too

@frankster262 a decent bike is not cheap and well body amour shin pads helmet etc add up to a decent price too the best way to start doing downhill is probably on a hard tail jump bike but you would need to get a proper dh pretty soon after you start

@frankster262 sorry but personaly i think buying a 2nd hand dh bike is really risky as you dont know what has happend to the bike when the bearing etc are going to need replacing and when the rear shock will need servicing and same with the front shocks and then the discs probably wont be far off being worn out either...

I was thinking of getting into DH racing. When do they let the rider behind you go. I have a backround in ski racing and I know they don't let he/she so until your very close to the bottom. is it the same for DH mtb?
