I think wilt is one of the all time greats, but shaq changed the league. zone defence, hack a shaq, reinforced rims, "flopping". And that is in a 95% black league.Wilts numbers are undeniable, but shaq is easily the most dominate center. The only way to defend him in his prime, and on a good team was to constantly double and triple team him, and then foul him. Bill Russel held wilt down. The only center that ever really gave shaq problems was Hakeem.

maybe you can look up when Wilt shot 72% from the floor in 1972 on how many players were black then , I would imagine there was a high percentage of black players playing then

lets say that the MJ in his prime was playing in the NBA right now...no lie he'd average 50 or more pts, 10+ rebs, 8+ast, 6+stls, 4+blks because of the handchecking rule that has been real strict...if kobe played in jordan's era he wouldnt have jordan's stats especially if his stats right arent like it since the rules have changed....i do agree with the guy above on pippen. pippen did all that even with jordan on his team. pippen is highly UNDERATED!!!

Pippen is sooooo underrated. yes kobe had shaq but jordan had pippen who is the only player who can guard 1-4 positions, and score, steve kerr was a clutch shooter, kukoc (in his prime) was a less athletic version of lamar odom, but cood shoot better, both great players but i give the slight edge to kobe because jordan didnt hafta get by guys like Artest, Battier and Bowen every night. Jordan set the stage but Kobe is in a more advanced era, and the best player in the league. Slight edge to Kobe

when jordan won the first three championships, pippen wasn't as nearly as good as when he played in the second three. It was pretty much jordan in the first three. The second three, he had rodman and pippen. And thats why he had the best record of all time 72-10

Jordan won 6 championships without a single dominant big man next to him. It was Jordan who hit game winner after game winner to win those championships. How many times has Kobe done that?

Every team is fully loaded in modern day, back 88-96 there were only a FEW teams that were loaded. My point the NBA is not as difficult back then compared to now. That AND there were more HOF C's/PF's in Jordan's day than Kobe's. Kobe had to deal with guys like AI, TMac, LBJ, etc.
And Jordan never had to be guarded by guys like Battier, Bowen and Tayshaun.
There were parts of Jordan's game where Kobe is better (like 3PT shooting) and vice versa, so let's just say that it's even.

Back when jordan played it was a center dominated league which is extremely difficult to play against. kobe won his championships because he had a dominant center. jordan had to play against the bad boys, gary payton, penny, grant hill, john stockton. not counting the people he played against in the 80's

Jordan didn't win his 4th ring until he was 32 so Kobe still has plenty of time to catch up in titles and scoring count.
