@babypiiinkxoxo I dont know, sorry. Ive had issues with trying to download directly from the internet but I downloaded a newer version of the software which seems to have fixed the issue. Bear in mind this software is free. i use it to rip Youtube videos so I dont come across all errors unfortunately.

@pinntooobean217 Try Format Factory first and see what that can do as that is free. Theres only a few formats which I convert between so I am not sure whether it can do that or not or even how well it converts. Ive used Format Factory for a while now and in many respects its actually easier than this program. MPEG StreamClip is better for grabbing videos from websites such as Youtube.

@FerdinandPR8 Sometimes it is to do with the codec that youre using. Ive found in the past that it will encode to a format which your player will sometimes find hard to play. Between VLC media player, Realplayer and Media Player they can all play the same file in different ways. You may have to change the codec that youre using to encode the video.

If you are using Windows then lookup Windows Media Encoder as you can encode live video streams from that. If you wish to encode from a webcam or Firewire camera then you can do this using Media Encoder. It doesnt encode in MPEG tho, it just encodes in WMV format which is a bummer.

Sometimes it depends on the version. For compatibility you could try MPEG2 as most new videos are encoded in MPEG3 for HDTV.

what is it exactly you are wanting to do? Im confused that you wish to use Moviemaker when you have a Mac. Converting to a format that Windows Movie Maker can understand is not going to be easy and straightforward.
I dont know of any upper size limit on the file that you can compress or convert with this software. How big are the files and what software are you using to edit them? Sometimes the cameras use some odd compressors so when you download them off the camera memory you have to use their software to see the videos. I take it you are talking gigs here?
