why would u want to crush the safe if your trying to get to whatever's inside it in the first place?????? firearms dont work too well when the barrels are all bent.
Simple Physics. Its doing the same trick people do on a bed of nails. the pressure is equally spread out making less force act upon the gun safe. take off the wooden block counter part and you got something crushed.
@Marc329 you sir are correct!!! however, this is when both tracks are both layed out on flat level ground, in the video it looks as thought the safe is about half the length of the tracks, take into account that this is not an abrams and the gravitational mass of the tank multiplied by 4, and you get a number much higher!!! can we all agree that the full mass of the tank is divided nearly equally amongst the gun safe and the support on the other side? pretty impressive to say the least!!
Nice sales vid however one side side of the tank (12.5 tons) with lgp (low ground pressure) tracks dispering the weight on about a 5 to 6 ft. safe is not that much pressure.
Stupid add. First, its a steel box. Your not going to crush it. You can do this trick with any gun safe on the market. Now, open the door and drive onto it, might be a different story :)
Second, its proves nothing as to gaining access via forced entry. Im a professional locksmith. I can drill into that safe in six or seven minutes. Less if im not worrying about repairing it later.
Safes are made to be fire resistant as well as for secure storage. The shell is sheet metal, no more than 1/8 inch thick, the inner shell is the same. the space between is a plaster that is heat resistant. The door and its frame are the only heavy parts in the structure.
If you have 1 ton and put it on 2 boxes, the one box will only support half of the weight.. mao, It can even hold a tank!!! maybe so, but its only holding a half tank in the video...
Just wanted to clear things up. I am the one driving the tank. And it is not a M18 Hellcat. That is our personal tank and it is a M41 Walker Bulldog. Just wanted to clear the air.
Of course if you own it you know what it is..lol. But yes..confirmed..it is an M41 Walker Bulldog. Great shape buy the way. Kudos on the safes(I own one) and the restoration of the M41.
it has the power of physics on its side, like for example if you lay on a bed of nails and got a cinder-block put on your chest and had something slam it with a sledge hammer, if you used a mathematical physics theory to distribute your weight you could live, it is basically the same thing with the tank of the safe except for the fact that with the safe, i think that it was alot less mathematically planned.
I wish I had something to put in a safe like that

thats a well made safe
Ritko2021 6 months ago
try a 65 ton M1A1 Abrams, 17 or 25 tons is nothing.
FletchRDG 7 months ago 8
I think firing the 76 mm M32 gun from that tank will do the trick ...
YourSaviour 9 months ago 5
any safe in this tier can withstand a balanced evenly distributed load like that...
ventHARAS 10 months ago 3
if that was a homak safe it would be flat as a pancake

even a 50 ton tank wouldn't exert 50 psi on the thing.

@J1der96
You are correct. An M1 Abrams tank is in the range of 65 tons but only creates a little over 15 lbs per square inch of pressure on the ground.

Not really 25 tons on the safe. Only about half of that, since one tread is on the safe, the other is on some random block.

thats what them safes are made for they have like 4 inch steel walls, and that tank seems kina small. try that with an abrams.

They used an old M48 Patton? Try doing that with a Leopard, Challenger, LeClerk, Type 90, Merkava, or the Abrams.

Thats not an M48 Patton Tank, its an M41 Walker Bulldog.

I wonder if it can hold up to a 35 ton T-54/55.
Dudtz 3 years ago 24
25 ton my ass. Thats an m18 Hellcat. 17.7 tons fully loaded. Much lighter when stripped as I am sure this one is. Way to talk it up guys...

still very small tank... BUT its not like a human could break into it.
mysubsbang 3 years ago 25
Also the safe is only supporting about half the tank's weight, the other half is supported by whatever is under the right track.

Plus the weight is distributed on 2 sets of tracks. And only 1 set of tracks is on the safe,

@PrimusAquila Actually, that is a M41 Bulldog which is about 25 tons.

@RedNekCoasters I bet they put rubber tracks on it just for this demonstration to do as little damage as possible. And I bet it was stripped too.

Let's see how safe deals with 188 tons Nazi Panzerkampfwagen VIII "Maus". There is only one prototype left in world.

put a 63 tonne challenger on it and see how the safe handles it

it would take more than 63 tonnes to crush that

Ya sure it is tough, but tank tracks are make to distribute mass(weight). Also most of the mass is on the other side.
