As a positive female-bodied queer, this was a welcome short film. HIV is often disregarded by women who are in relationships/have sex with women. However, ignoring the problem doesn't make it disappear.

The issue of how long you would have to know someone before they wouldn't run away at the mention of HIV is pretty personal to me, and one that I haven't quite figured out yet. It was nice seeing it discussed frankly.

Here's to hoping that I can find my own Lexus or Marcus.

@thebword Hi, thank you for your comment. I'm glad you like the film especially since you personally relate to it. And I agree, ignoring the problem does not make it disappear. Besides wanting to tell this story of Lexus and Sara, I hoped the film would bring awareness to the importance of HIV prevention & testing and also spark conversation about being in relationships with people who are HIV positive.

This was very depressing, yet a very realistic view of the consequences of sex. Before I receive 'Hate-Mail' for my commentary, know that I too am a 'Violet/Pink Sister,' so this film applies to me, as well. HIV/AIDS can become anyone's reality albeit a scarry one! I commend the writer/director for dealing w/this heavy/timeless subject matter,,,, lesbian audience. I really do appreciate it, because as years pass, HIV/AIDS has become some sort of "phantom" virus that only claimed lives in '80's.

really nice short, but the ending was just a little disappointing

it left me a bit unsatisfied

the rest of the short was great, with very nice art direction and quite an unique story

I loved Lexus character, the faqt that she doesn't go balistic like most characters would had me interested right away

Wasn't too much of a fan of the story line to be completely honest, but the acting was brilliant and the photography fantastic. Really loved that city feel that was portrayed just excellently.

I was looking forward to seeing this film because Jessica Clark was going to act in it (and she did well!). Although I knew it was a short film I expected it to be longer. Also I didn't expect the hiv-story line.

However I really enjoyed your film. When Jullissa Bermudez cried she made me care for her ;) I especially like the scene in the kitchen because of the discussion on wheter how long you have been together makes a difference or not. The ending shot was also nice- how did you film it?

@tarainuk @tarainuk Hey, thanks 4 watching. Jessica did do well! Working w/ her & Julissa was an incredible experience as a 1st time director. Both have natural instincts as actors & yet are very different in how they approach the craft.

About the length-there actually are 2 cuts-the one you saw as well as a longer 28 min cut. It's part of the Sara Digital Download Package which you can get at Sara website It has a different pacing to the story. Opens it up more.

@tarainuk The ending shot, as an indie film, we used natural resources at hand! The DP & camera op (amazing duo Mike & Spike) went to a taller building a few buildings down from Sara's rooftop and shot from there . Used a couple different lenses and the rest we did in post!

@tarainuk Yes, we shot in 4K with the Red One. You then can zoom in as desired in post. Can't take credit on this one - totally my DP's idea - I explained what I wanted and he came up with a great solution that fit the visual language/emotion we were going for :)
