  • A perfect parody - Britten was adept at taking lovely folk tunes and turning them into a dischordant row in order to match the tune to the limitations of Pears' voice. Little wonder that he did not like this - it's too close for comfort.

  • Noooo...

Now I can't listen again Pears without remembering this.

This is The Turn of the Moore, for me!

  • Brillent impersonation of Pears.

  • such a talent!

  • apparently Peter Pears liked this but Britten did not.

Not sure how anyone could consider it homophobic however.

  • Incredibly perfect.

  • HYST--------ERICAL.

  • Homophobic...

  • @gygeslydian Get out of here , homophobic..

  • I can't believe how good his sendup of Britten and Pears is! Incredible!!!

  • Just so amazing in so many ways.

  • To a T...

  • I don't know what's funnier, the fact that Mr. Moore has managed to copy Britten's compositional style so well or that his copy of the singing in the style of Peter Pares is SO spot on! GOOD GRIEF!

  • @Delasso I think they're EQUALLY funny:). What great stuff!

  • this is parody at its best. Moore was a real comic genius

  • omg this is sooooo awesome!

  • Spot on in every respect. love dudley moore.
