So is National Geographic unbiased? I think not let us suppose for a moment America was surrounded with enemies for example, would it be so different?(after 9/11?) USA who threatened NK with using the Atomic bomb which it has previously used against Japanese civilians (even though the Japanese has desperately tried to surrender to USA) in the middle ages they used to surround a Castle and starve it to death. Do they seriously expect them to have a system that is normal under such circumstances.

I don't like the tone of this reporter. It is true that North Korea has many terible flaws but illustrating it as an epitome of pure evil is incorrect and misleading.
But that is not to say that I don't think NK is a creepy place.
No country is perfect and 100% propaganda free, we should always question our government and authority. It's unbelievable to think that a place like this really exists.
I read 1984 by George Orwell many many years ago when I was a young teen (of course then I didn't completely recognize the political symbolism), little did I know that such a place really does exist within the world today.
Absolutely unbelievable. Few understand that people in NO Korea have no choice, if they did not worship this leader they were dead or sent to lifetime prison camps. Their only choice to survive was is to obey as they could not escape. Horrifying, not just for them but for the entire world.
@vincikwan It doesn't happen though because China won't let average citizens leave. If they could come to the USA they'd just run to the customs agents and declare refugee status so they can escape.
oh fuck, they got nukes! another threat to the free and democratic America, right?
probably, it would make sense to invade their land, kill half of their people, pillage the country for resources, and in the end call it a great victory for the sake of democracy, wouldn't it? what a pity that they don't have oil...
another biased movie to brainwash the hoi polloi. and who's talking about totalitarianism?
@v00die Sympathy for a nightmare regime that murders its citizens merely for wanting to go elsewhere? Labeling as state propaganda a completely independent film about a nation that has one party, one media service, one f***ing newscaster, and that requires under penalty of imprisonment that the state radio broadcast--piped directly into EVERY SINGLE HOME--never be turned off?
You're a perfectly nasty little leftist, aren't you. Don't pretend that you f***ing care about the North Korean people.
Don't exaggerate. The regime is nightmare, that's true. Although I would strongly doubt if ALL the juicy details are true.
It's just that I know something about propaganda, and not only from my studies. When you watch BBC and CNN on the one hand and Russian TV on the other, and the same events are presented in a totally different way, you somehow start thinking who benefits in both situations. And any media is eventually used to manipulate.
I said it does NOT have oil, otherwise it would have been invaded already.
And the worst thing is that it would've been explained as another sacred mission of the US. And some brainwashed dumbasses would've fallen for it. That's what disappoints me most.
Yuck! Being "secretive", having the 4th-largest army and nuclear weaponry is a crime exactly how? This is a propaganda film in response to what they claim is an attempt to expose a propaganda state. Doesn't do justice. As for 'defectors' -- please come to India and meet the thousands of white western 'fakirs' languishing in holy spots here, simply because they do not want to return to the developed west.
i gota say their pritty ballsy like i would not want to get caputred as a spy ova their esspecially if i didnt even know anything but i wonder in anouther video they said cell phones were bannded in like the 80s ova their so wouldnt it be easyier just to use a phone camera they probs wouldnt even know phones could do that
Did she really think going undercover as an (American!) medical coordinator is a good idea? If the whole world can see the footage then for sure the top rats and vile disgusting Korean scum (especially the hideous midget with the sunglasses he wears inside and his silly hat and kaki coat) can too. This will make the job of aid workers a lot easier don't you think?
@peuterschmidt That it may become harder for aid workers in the future to enter the country and bring supplies. They're paranoid as hell and already give loads of restrictions to foreigners when it comes to (food) aid. Finding out their cesspool has been filmed AND broadcasted for the whole world to see isn't very likely to make them open up or allow more foreign activity.
Religion: North Korea in your mind.

So if China sends a doctor into the US, n in his team is embedded a camera crew, if the US finds out they will be alright about it?
Most probably they will be deemed as spies and will be locked up as well....SHALLOW AMERICANS.
