  • Wait, you can get a propane weed burner?

  • haha well apparently i cant cube on the sun or in antarctica hahaha

  • I just realized this... My fingers are goddamn long. I discovered this when I was looking at those tube-shaped camcorders at best buy, my hand wrapped all the way around them.

On an OH cubing related note, I use the stretches from my aikido classes to warm up my hands, but they are really meant for your wrists, so they aren't that effective. I've also heard that you should just stretch out rubber bands with your fingers.

  • i wanna see a video of someone cramping up during a OH solve.

    can someone link me??

    =D

  • it was just some random stuff, after it rains where there are lots of interesting things to see, so I took some pictures of it, and figured it couldn't hurt to film it also in case I ever needed the sound or the images from it.

  • When you turned you cube, talking about the fact that there is a Texture on the piece, The green stickers have leaves on them because of the background green screen thing lol

  • what kind of lubricant do you use?

  • I also would like to know, I would guess CRC, but he said green bottle. ~_~

  • It is CRC, CRC comes in Green bottles too, It just he got CRC Food Grade Heavy Duty Silicone

  • Today was REALLY hot so I put my cube under the sun for awhile

    Thanks this tip helped alot

  • how do you get so famous?

  • you have a nice camera

  • green screens are awesome!! nice btw

  • was that your old rubik's brand cube?

  • Use silicone spray and right after... blow it up with a flamethrower... CUBE GO BOOM!

  • let your hands soak in warm-hot water before solves for about 30 seconds and it helps alot

  • what specific lubricant do you use...

  • personally, I use CRC heavy duty silicone. Any silicon lubricant will do, but it HAS to be 100% silicone. you can find it at ACE hardware, Wal-mart, or Home Depot

  • would microwaving your cube be a good way to warm it up?

  • no you'll melt and destroy it. trust me on that one, I've done it!

  • thanks

  • ok theres metal in the cube smarty

  • haha, i forgot

  • i just tried it my cube melted

  • because we've all seen what happens when you stick a rubik's cube in the microwave

  • Now that you've got a nice background, how about some soft music in low volume? :P

    I'd like it.

  • wow... picky picky picky... jk

  • Thanks this really helped!

  • i use handwarmers (those things u use when skiing) before competitions

  • his eyes are amazing lol

  • They really are. My eyes are a boring brown.

  • So are mine O_O

  • Thrawst, next time you should wear green so the camera only picks up your head.

  • Propane Torch! ;D

    ^ pyromaniac :)

  • um, for me, cooling my cubes is very good. I accidentally left my cubes in the car once during a winter day, and when I got them back, they were wonderful! Especially my rubik's 4x4, and it seemed that I had done a very easy "mod" on it. Lube it with vaseline (I know that's very bad). But it gets rid of a lot of lock-ups, smoother turning, and very very rarely pops. But, when you cool it after that, no lock ups, perfect gliding, and no pops. It's like a stickered mefferts.

  • ANTS!!!

  • i really liked the leave backround it was nice

  • hey nice vid man....quick question...anyone know what video editing program thrawst uses...and how do you get the backgrounds like him...see how he had the white background and then the leaves...thanxxxxx

  • any program that can chroma key will work, but you need a green screen.

It detects the green color and replaces it with whatever fottage you want

  • i like ur videos xD

  • The warming of the cube with the weed burner was funny!

  • I like leaving my cube in my car on a hot day, its super fast after that.

  • hahaha that was hilarious.

  • could you make a vid next week about all the different of methods that you know? I know around 7 and would like to learn more!

  • what is the point of knowing 7!?!?! You only need 1.

How about YOU make a video about all the methods you know b/c its more than me.

  • 7 <3

  • lol yeah. but I think it's good to know more, just in case you mess up an algorithm and you need to know a way to fix a certain situation. But I actually like learning more methods, because also, on really wierd mods you can know more.

  • i loved this video personally, i thought it was pretty funny

  • Nice vid, I'm glad you are keeping up with these and the fiveawesomecubers. Can you learn spanish next?

  • i know Spanish

  • You are my hero, let's have a spanish conversation one day haha

  • Nvm, thought you said -400

  • Not to burst your bubble, but Antarctica only gets to about -60 to -70 degrees

  • I feel like you kinda skimped out on this vid a little bit, next week can you maybe put some tips on learning fredrich? thatd be nice :P

  • when you warm it up do you only do it once and its good or do you do it over and over again. and against a light how long will it take to warm it up?

  • Yeay for tip of the week

  • How does warming it up, make it faster exactly?

  • Something about the expansion of the springs in the core, I think...

  • Because then the Lube warms up and can move over itself more easily, it also kind of half-liquifies I guess...

  • lolll, ur like burning it :P

  • ur hands r big... heh heh

  • At first I thought you were serious with the torch lol!!!

  • dang, ur gonna miss out on that antarctic tournament next month

  • you can also soak your hands in warm water =P

  • i see u took my advice on the white background =P

    i feel special

    lmao at burning the cube

  • like how the beginning cube is japanese color scheme

i dont use it though, i wish i did.

  • lol so i should put my lighter to my cube?

  • Put your cube in the oven at 1000 F for 86 hours and it will be extremely loose.

  • lol 86 hours??? it will melt by then!!

  • He said his lube only worked up to 400 degrees!

  • nice

  • This is a nice weekly idea that only few people could pull off. I am interested on how you keep up before your ideas run short

  • Humorous yet informative. AWESOME!

  • cool vid~
