Cumbernauld was a visionary and pioneering social experiment in its time. It's flaws were its East Germanic/Polish inspired concrete dormitory atmosphere, which became oppressive, overwhelming many of the towns inhabitants and forcing events to take a turn towards the towns (as we knew it) final destruction in the 00s era. Much of the old town, as we knew it, is gone. These times are pivotal for the town and the townie, let us wish that this town finally reaches its full potential. Broch!
My wife left Cumbernauld nearly 25 years ago and we visit occassionally. Good to see such a good seletion of pictures of her home town. Great video. It makes cumbernauld look great from the air....pity it isn't so attractive from the ground. We really enjoyed it!
