@TheJoshRobotGuy There are 2 basic types of Thompsons. An M1A1 (actuator on side) and a 2128 (actuator on top). So if this is built like it really is, then it should accept a drum. M1A1 does not accept drums where as a 2128 will accept it.

It won't because these guns do not have "firing pins" that damage real guns when you dry fire. So no, you won't have to buy snap caps or anything, dry firing is completely fine.

Oh, actually, they have a warning on their website, my fault. It says "AVOID excessive dry-firing as this may cause breakage."

My guess is that these guns DO have firing pins, and because they're not hitting anything it's like breaking a real gun. My suggestion would be to buy snap caps and chamber one round to prevent the gun from being damaged.
