Honest set of questions here: Is Rushdie defending all stories? What about the false stories that Hitler told his people? Can stories take on the quality of "fighting words" ? Is there any limit to Rushdie's defense of speech/stories? Does Rushdie defend the Ayatollah's words that sentenced him to death?
Salman Rushdie is really charming and witty. The interviewer, however, is quite disagreeable. Even his breathing and his annoying "right"-sound are offensive I think.

End of conquest ( so called independence ) of India happened as a result of Hitler hitting British home land.
Brits had to let go of the empire .
Even then they did not let go of india without creating a mess. Pakistan was arbitraily craeted by one man .
Divisions were left.
Divide and conquer remains the awy brits behave.
They are not huamn enough to aspire for fair trade.
They use existing divisions all the time. Tamil tigers are sponsored by Britain now.
