there was no lead guitarist that night so the line-up was:

Steve Wacholz drums

John Lee Middleton bass

Chris Caffery back guitar

Jon Oliva vocals and keyboards

but Criss Oliva was there, he played that night. We can hear the notes of the solo played by Criss in the deep of our hearts..

Well, considerring that SAVATAGE was already signed and releasing albums long before GNR ever existed and before anyone had even heard of Axl Rose makes me think that if anyone was copying anyone it was Axl doing the copying. Let us not forget that Axl "borrowed" his stage moves that he was infamous for from the frontman of an L.A. band called SHARK ISLAND; it is not hard to believe that he would also "borrow" other aspects of his rock and roll persona.

Sorry man, I once read an album review of theirs where the guy accused Jon of copying Axl Rose and it really irritated me - now I make it somewhat of a priority to set that record straight with people. I don't have any problem with Axl, I actually like GNR quite a bit, I just don't like the way people give him credit for certain things instead of the people who actually were doing them first.

I was there,and I seem to remember John Zahner was playing,and also Zak Stevens for four songs,maybe? This was such an amazing show,the best Savatage show since Criss passed away.Thanks to the uploader for bringing back another great moment from an incredible evening!
