IM 18 and im fucked for a marijuana DUI. I made the biggest mistake of taking field sobriety and giving blood. Now ive had to pay 3,600. Year probation and loss of license 6 months. Just finished high school. I cant go to Community college because I have no money or way of getting there. Cant go to college because im on probation for a year, cant join the service because im on probation for a year. Got rejected from 2 job interviews simply because I was being convicted of a DUI without guilty.

you can go to college if your on probation. an you can take the bus to school, and get financial aid. you need to do research.

@jenn1ifer There is no public transportation here except taxi which is far too expensive and metra which takes me no where near the community college. Yes I can get financial aid, but that does not make college free. My point is, my option's have been leveled down to community college, because of a bullshit law made by corrupt Illinois Politicians. And I use corrupt, because it can't be any closer to the truth, Ryan is in prison (governor), Blajoevich going to prison. Multiple Senators unethical

yo man honestly.. this happened to me two fridays ago. i smoked at 12pm, got pulled over at 11! for speeding..11 hours later.. apparently failed sobriety tests i took the same ones you had to, fuckin bullshit, i blew 00.00 into the breathalyzer..

"the officer assumed that just because i had smoked marijuana earlier in the day, that i was still under the influence hours later" ...UM SAME FUCKING THING HAPPENED TO ME ! i dont know a soul that gets high and stays high for eleven hours..

@L3athaface This demonstrates why you should never, ever talk to the police. Never tell them anything except your name and address. If you fight this in court it will be tossed if your lawyer is good because there are no guidelines to determine if you were or are impaired no matter what your blood level is.

@aolthof007 i know but they kept pressuring me to talk.... i admitted to smoking at 12 noon , which was in fact 11 hours before..the cop kept claiming it was 3 hours ago by the way my eyes looked.. they were fucking white but dilated. i apparently failed the sobriety tests and got brought to the station. its bullshit because i was sober sam!!!!

@aolthof007 Im going through the same thing right now. I was hoping i could get some more information on how to go about fighting the court system. should i get a good lawyer? my family has been telling me to just use a public defender because the judge is supposedly lenient on marijuana and i don't have much money, but I don't want a DUI on my record and my charges are bs. i was hoping to find out what my chances are of winning and how much it's going to cost me. i only have about 700 bucks

Update on the disposition of Scott's case. He pled guilty to a traffic infraction of making an illegal right turn and payed his fine. All other charges related to the marijuana and the DUI were dismissed by the judge citing that there was no evidence that he was impaired and there is no standard to indicate when someone might be impaired. A blood or urine test will tell if someone has the drug in his system but not if they are impaired, which is not the case with alcohol.

disabled people can fail the sobriety test very easily, especially if you have a limp or your hips don't move well and you can't walk without a wide gate, or have weak knees.

Props to you Scott, fight for you rights! I had a similar situation in BC , made one or two mistakes and was harassed by officer into a suspension from driving.... I wish i had seen your video before! Best of luck to you my friend

Ever taken a look at any online police forum websites? It's pretty scary to watch them discuss anything related to Marijuana.

Usually the main focus of those discussions are the many ways in which they can abuse the system, to harass and bully "potheads".

Posts consist of gloating and boasting about who/how they harassed, insults at "potheads" or "hippies"... And NOT A SINGLE ONE of them in these discussions takes the alternate side of the issue.

These are the people who are police, bullies.

Been like half a year since I found the one I was referring too, which was pretty bad, but I can't remember it ATM. It was an official, almost-state-run forum too.

Although I just tried searching google for "police forum pothead", or similar keywords, and got a few results that seemed almost the same.

I wouldn't suggest arguing with them though. It looked like several people tried it, got quickly banned, and following comments proceeded to make scary threads at them.. like about finding them.

Like they talked about searching for the people online, digging up dirt on the people who argued against them... Logging IPs, and using that to get ISP information, or other websites they've been, and such.

And none of the "pothead" comments I saw back then were unreasonable or rude, or anything remotely worth banning over. =/
