  • @Shaea15 haha thats very sweet... =)) but it really hurts because just hearing the word sines cosines and tangents give me some nightmares! haha just kidding xD

  • great tut thanks a lot...

  • thank you for the great explanation...now, i have an idea on how to answer tomorrow's long test!

  • Does anyone kno if Trig is easier then Algebra 2?

  • @LilBlacJac510 ....If you are good at geometry, and decent in algebra 2 then trig is a piece of cake... just memorize the Unit Circle...google it on google images. it looks hard to memorize but just use flash cards and you will breeze through that class

  • @jtgober87 I already studied the unit circle very well , and personally its easy.

  • I learn better from youtube than paying god damn money for college

my college prof just goes... zoom zoom zoom

    ANY QUESTIONS????

    ok.. no? ok

ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM... ok test next wednesday on 8 chapter sections.

  • @bevon17 thats my teacher in the flesh

  • thank you

  • if i didnt already know the law of sines.. you would have made no sense.. sorry man teaching is not your thing

but thank you cuz i really wanted to look the law of sines in english and not french

  • what don't you create a box, like my math author did, that way it is easier to follow. your's is already quite simple, but the box helps too. it just assists the student in letting him know what all he has and needs to get so he doesn't miss anything. your way, I would've forgotten all about getting that very last one. I thought we were done until i found we still had one more to get. the box would've helped me on that. thanx.

  • Good video. Thank you

  • I think the right answer is closer to 47.....

  • why didn't you just cross multiply 'c' to sin50 from the beginning?

  • i love you.

  • I hate how he writes 7 and 1

  • hahahaaa

  • u make life so much easier lolz. im just going to reveiw all ur vidz 2 study for mi trig regentz

  • Very helpful.

  • heavy, doc

  • why did you put the law of sin in the denominator place instead of the numerator?

Would that be more different than just switching it around?

  • @hm0ngfrostedflakes it is traditionally put in the denom. (law of sine). it is also easier for the student to keep track. doing it the other way (law in numer.) i think adds another step because you'd have to do 1 / b (1 over b) to get 'b' by itself which you don't have to in his way.

  • you are really good. Thanks

  • THIS HELPED SO MUCH !

  • very nice thanks 4 this great video

  • I can't remember that darn rule, so I guess I'm in trouble on these problems. Oh well. It don't matter. I know a lot of other kinds of math.

  • thanks i was totally lost in class untill i watched this video!!

  • he's cute

  • For everyone that says thanks to this video, I hate to say it but... you still need to practice. 8-(

No matter how much you understand the problems, you need to practice similar problems to get it to really sink in. Sorry to tell you the horrible truth about doing your homework. Nobody (not even your teacher) likes homework.

Still, it's better to have this video than all the trouble you have in the classroom.

    Good luck.

  • I love your videos. thanx for aaaall your help!!!

  • You're genuis!! THX ALot!! Yes i agree.. i wished u were my maths teacher as i sucked at maths! IT gets on my nerves!! i'm goin to have my exams soon!!

  • i wish u are my teacher,

  • thank you sososososo muchh! you helped me so much!

  • oh my god i tried learning this stuff in like a couple weeks and i got it us by seeing this videoo..thanks keep making more.. plzz..i'm in need of help and my teacher doesnt know how to teach..wish you were my teacher

  • wow, my teacher tried to teach us how to do the law of sine and cosine for the passed 3days and wow... i went on here and learned in 20 minutes.... i wish they were my teachers, then again i get to pause and repeat the vid if i dont get what's goin on... Thanks =)

  • yeah my teacher is different from you'

and thanks for your uploading this vids'

  • that is good but i need to know how to do a problem if you have A, a, and b... and solve the triangle... how can you find B

  • for that you use the law of cosines

  • same thing sinA/ a = Sinx/b

    it's a simple proportion

  • your a really good teacher.... i wish all my teachers could teach like you

  • my teacher showed me that and i got it in a blink of an eye it is kind of easy

  • I needed to know this in order to attempt to pass two math semesters in one. This was the explanation which made it click. Very helpful.

  • When I try to use the Law of Sines to solve for an obtuse angle, I always fail. Can it be done, or does this only apply when solving for acute angles. Thank you.

  • @ictsoftail - when calculating the angle, performing the arcsine on the value derived from the proportion will give you the compliment to the obtuse angle. Subtract the answer you get from 180 to get its compliment, and therefore the obtuse angle.

  • OMG this guy need to teach my trig class, my professor runs through this like should know everything already

  • amazing video, i completely understand it now!!!!!!

  • thanks alot, i have exam tommorrow and this really helped.

  • tnx soo much!!! u help a lot :P:P

  • i have a test tmrw, this was helpful :D

  • how do you find the value of sin 120 without a calculator?

  • 120=2pie/3 which has the same sin as pie/3, which using a table in your math book that relates the the six trig func of pie/3 you look in the sin column and see that the sin of pie/3 is square root of 3 over 2. this table you need to memorize to solve the question. there are only 3 angles so it is easy. pie/3, pie/4, pie/6. the rest of the course you will have to come up with these, it is a memorization thing, from a little table. they wont ask you to solve an off # like sin18 with no calc.

  • great tut

  • Thanks much, this is a very good tutorial.

  • Thanks, I appreciate these tutorials a lot 5 stars.

  • you have no right to say anything about this vid

  • great explanation, thank you very much! :)

  • wow, I just come back from my PreCal class. I've learned more in 8 mins than 3 hours of lecture

  • omg...i never thought this topic too be this easy..thanks a lot man,,,

  • thanks you are very helpful!!!!!!

  • I learned more in these 8 minutes then I have this whole semester. Thanks you soo much!

  • You're lovable! Not only are you a great teacher, but also a beautiful person. I'm back in school after many, many years & this is just the kind of patience I need from a tutor. Many thanks!

  • how old are you?

  • probably like 120 LOL

  • Thanks! You are a LIFE SAVER.

  • thanks man... I learned more in this 8 min video, than 2 hours of class, you're a life saver.

  • thank god you're here, now i don't have to worry about tomorrow's quiz :D

  • lol! this is easy,

  • good teaching but this is a little simple for me im studying trigometry with one angle and one side.

  • oh boy you are amazing

  • thats great! but i need to know how to find the angle measures of a triangle where i only know one given angle measure and two given side lengths (not a right triangle, its scalene)

    baisically side.angle.side

  • yeah me too.

  • I have a test tomorrow and I didnt understand shit but now I do man thanks a lot I hope I still remember for tomorow

  • haha same story here

  • This was really helpful. Thank youu.

I was wondring however how you know whether to use Tan Cos or Sin ??

    thank you xxx

  • SOHCAHTOA (saw-cuh-toe-uh)

it means Sin is the opposite side over the hypotenuse, that Cos is the adjacent angle over the hypotenuse, and Tan is the opposite angle over the adjacent one. then you just look at it backwards and figure out which two you can use to find the angle.

also MAKE SURE your calculator is in the right mode. if it's in radians it won't work for degrees, and vice-versa.

  • TAN=Opposite/Ajacent

    COS=Ajacent/Hypotenuse

    SIN=Opposite/Hypotenuce

    /=divided by

Hope im not too late in answering!!

  • I finally understand itt.

you made it extremely easy to follow.

    THANK YOUU ! x

  • Excuse we just learned this today in my geometry class but i wantd to know when you have two sides of the triangle and one angle how do you solve it

  • use cosine

  • i need to know how to slove angle/side/side

  • Thanks very much. As a 38yr old going back to high school its difficult.

  • trigonometry it's easy having a teacher how you

    x)

  • I wish I had you as a math teacher! You're so very easy to follow, everything makes sense, and you even look like a nice guy :]

  • Can't you just add 50 + 60 and then subtract from 180? Isn't that how you solve for a missing angle of a triangle?

  • Find angle A first? Is this angle not given? Haha .. I probably make this mistake all the time when I am talking at the board.

  • THIS IS MATH MACHINE!LOL

  • oh yeah this laws are fukin awesome!

  • I think the Law of Sines are easier than the Law of Cosines...

  • can someone PLZ tell me how to tell if a triangle contains two triangles in it... I know obtuse triangles do, i just can tell when.

  • thanx mr

  • this is amillion times easier to follow then my math class was- man maybe even i'll pass this test

  • he looks fake...

  • I can't hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • turn up the volume!!!!!!

    make sure nothing is muted

  • Being a student of an online high school, this has helped me LOADS. I really didn't understand how to do any of this, but now that I actually see it being done step by step, I feel much more confident now. Thanks!

  • i am so gonna send my brother to your vids !

    GOLDEN !

  • thanks i was really confuse about this stuff and you really make it sence to me now. am sure i can pass my test tomoroow thaks agaian

  • thnx, u r such a teeacher n thnx 2 u im going 2 pass the test tomorrow!! and by the way u make such more sense than my teacher:P

  • Wow thanks to this I can pass my math class!! My teacher really cant teach....

  • wow this make alot more sense now. im going to aces my test today thank

  • Ahh!! you blow my schools entire math department out of the water!

  • thanks, although i already knew it lol

  • theres no such thing as "already knew it"

    this man got "habitual" talents.

  • What about law of sines word problems?

  • I wish my teacher learned how to teach, this set of tutorials keeps me from failing pre-cal!

  • In practical terms what is a "sin" and how is it calculated without a calculator?

  • sin = oppisite -------- hypotonus

  • nice thank you soooo much

  • THANK YOU ,know i understand

  • I realy respect those videos

but what i dont realy get is

Why in the first question using

    c over sinC= a over sinA

    cant we do

    c over sinC= b over sinB ?

  • this is just mechanical application...

btw - u didnt mention u were using the reciprical of the law of sines

but why is law of sine true / how'd u get it?

could u upload a vid deriving the proof plz?

  • thanks a lot sir!

  • cool

  • Nice, easy to follow.
