  • Isn't it amazing how clever we get when we must? Love the video and the shuffle! Hope you are well. -From a knee surgery crutch walker

  • Well done i cant even walk with my crutches after foot surgery i just pathetically hop.

  • ROFL! Foot shuffle. I remember those days. I been on crutches for 2 months now and not these elbow kind. I use to hold them both under my arms in the beginning and do like this Zombie/drag motion when I had to carry stuff but now I usually just hop, it's quicker. What fun. lol Not.

  • I used an insulated thermos with a loop around the top which I could hold with one finger while still using the crutches. A finger on the other hand held the handle of the empty mug. If I wanted a spoon, I would put it behind my ear or in a pocket.

Move, sit, get comfortable, pour, enjoy.

I think that is a better option than stressing your good leg by doing the heel-toe thing and probably is safer than dragging a crutch as you move.

You have a stylish coffee maker, though!

  • I tore some ligaments in my left ankle and my husband is probably getting tired of waiting on me too. What a great tip. I have a hard enough time using these stupid crutches anyway...but when I need to get a cup of coffee or a drink, I will definitely try it. Thanks! :)

  • 0:30-0:40 BAHAH!

  • how many times u felt during that move?

Bet you did'nt make it all the time :P

  • Its slow but it works:) You water thing changed colur nice!

  • That is the BEST f****** tip I've ever learned on Youtube...

  • Woo! I do that alot right now, Its kinda hard at first but then gets easier to do

  • This is the most sophisticated boiler i have ever seen !!!!!

    Sorry bout the leg mate

  • WHY DIDENT I THINK OF THAT????

  • That's clever. Takes me back all that agro! Check out crutchpod on the net

  • What a hassle just to get a hot drink. Poor thing!! You need to fill a flask and use one of those crutch pods. Have a look at the "carry stuff on crutches"youtube video.

    Good luck with the recovery.

  • This is really useful, thankyou! I have just broken my foot and have crutches, but am finding stairs terrifying - so am doing the bum-shuffle! I broke it two years ago too and got the hang of crutches, but seem to have forgotten it all!

  • @houder2010 my leg isn't healing :( meant to have an operation this month.

  • haha i know the tricks all too well my friend. good to see u are mobile though. and that you can ride 4wheelers before full recovery!

  • the thing with the red and blue light is sweet whered you get it ?

  • why the fuck wasnt the stretcher right beside you.

  • @GrszledMelkaba The mud surrounding Sven might of been to thick, for them to roll it across ?

    Maybe :)

  • @0MrClarkey0 or in a ditch ?

  • @GrszledMelkaba or in a ditch?

  • That seems to work, how many times sven you had to practice or did you success with first try?

  • Was that a feather duster or a bunch of dead squirrels on a stick?

  • i think it's great that you will not allow your deficits to get in the way of what you need to do. i had a stroke which left me with left-sided weakness so i do everything with one hand. keep up the good fight!!

  • Brilliant camera angles, I really appreciate the editing time you've put in for me. Thanks

  • Drink hat ftw! I'd hate to make coffee then get second degree burns from falling over, mind you drink hat would get warm from coffee too O_o

  • and how is your bike? :)

  • glad o see your getting around sven- but i wouldn't jump back on the ktm just yet bud

  • Come on Sven. With all that time on your hands I expected a gyroscope-crutch-mount with iPod dock and GPS.

    Must try harder

    :-D

  • haha i dont no how your awesome at making bike videos to making awesome videos dont on ya bike nice 1 dude

  • Warning: 'Foot Shuffle' only works on carpeted surfaces. Do NOT under any circumstances attempt to 'Foot Shuffle' on any of the following. Tile, Wood, Concrete, Water, Linoleum, Brick, or Lava.

  • til u fall down and do more damage to the leg

  • Sven, well done on what seems to be a good recovery, I really do hope you are back on your feet properly soon, I miss your ranting :(

    Take care

  • duct tape a large styrofoam cup to your crutch and put the drink in any thing with a top(waterbottle or something similar) and just carry it in the styrofoam cup

    should work well

  • my friend busted his ankle. He was always drinking something. Same problem you faced.. with the crutches.

But he created a little cup holder that he strapped onto a crutch and placed his drink in a water bottle with a top, and put it in the new holder and off he went...

  • hahahahaha that is brilliant.. could invest in one of those old people walkers.. that has the little bit to sit on and use it as a table

  • This reminds me of your health care debate video. You mentioned a guy in the US who broke his arm and it cost him 50,000 or something. Even with insurance, it would cost quite a bit if you were here in the states and that happened to you.

  • @USGiorgi costs nothing at all here for NHS treatment. Although from personal experience the surgery is second to none. Excellent. The care surrounding it though can impede your recovery.

    I made a video "hospitalcam"

  • @vosogo it was Sven's LEG he croke not his ankle

  • Mejor comprate un robot que puedas ayudarte jejeje. Es dificil de manejarlo con una taza, pero no sabía cómo caminas.

Te deseo tan pronto de recuperar tu pierna. ;) FUERZA SVEN!

    ------------------------------------------------------------

Better buy yourself a robot that you could help jejeje. It is difficult to handle it with a cup, but it did not know how you walk.

I wish you so soon of recovering your leg.;) FORCE SVEN!

  • Sorry but:

THAT IS A HORRIBLE RUG! KILL IT!

  • I advise some caution at the foot shuffle technique. If you slip, you risk rolling or even breaking your other ankle.

Could you maybe set up a drink holder on one of your RC robots, and then have it bring the drink to the room ahead of you?

  • Hahaha, well done. That's a nifty technique. If you keep that up you're going to have one extremely masculin right leg and a slim left leg.

Would roller-blades work? They support up to the calves, don't they? Or perhaps a mono-blade :)

    Get well soon.

  • well even if it was on the good leg i doubt it because your gonna need to stabalize yourself but with crutches a drink and the other leg being bad itd be pretty hard to stay straight and be able to push yourself forward. youd probably fall a lot

  • lol nice! I want that kettle !! :)

  • LOL!! what ever works eh?

  • I love you Sven :) I'm surprised you haven't invented a cup holder that wraps around your chest like a baby carrier.... or just put the cup in a baby carrier with some pillows to hold it in place :)

  • look at the girl waiting for you on the back of the ambulance. She sees your "shuffle" and starts smiling hehe. Anyway, get well soon ;)

  • Why cant we get cool coffee/tea makers and toaster like ya'll do?

  • where did you get your water kettle? its great id love to get one myself.

  • u should get a mini fridge pout some wheels on it and tie a rope to u and it :D

  • lol i have the same boots sept mine r white, but i got new 1ns

  • Hey Sven good to see you back on your feet, You could make a tray for the Spykee :)

  • You should get a tea trolley like my nan :)

  • Funky kettle.

    You really must be boored..

  • hahaahhahahahaahaahahaha it WORKD

  • Love it.. haha

  • Ridiculous mate. I love it. I also love your water kettle! * * * * *

  • the sven shuffle©, lol. is the tea normally still warm by the time you get back to the lounge though O.o?

  • what editing program do u use?

  • LOL RIDICULOUS KETTLE!

  • same thing i did execept i kept falling over

  • fking best kettle and mugive evar seen !!

  • I'd now like to see you do that up the stairs.

    Thanks.

  • @ByeCruelWorld Trivial. You can place the cup on each step as you go.

  • you couldev just used your right hand to cary the cup using only the left side crutch and your right leg..But you love to complicate i guess . :o)

  • @Brainiac83 Try it. Enjoy cleaning up the mess.

  • looks like you're moonwalking to the side MJ

  • is there a video of the crash where sven broke his leg ?

  • @gangstaawankstaa Kinda. Video id is nqFIc9ElkXc

  • that water cooker(is that how you spell that?) is awesome

  • lol, water cooker, its a kettle:)

  • The amount of time it takes you to get back to where ever you're going could be spent in the kitchen drinking. And considering how out of breath you were you're going to need a second drink lol. What ever works for you though.

  • @SuperCheese088 Sure cos I love "relaxing" in the kitchen drinking my morning coffee.

Sorry if I'd rather be sat down reading the morning paper or whatever.

  • why dont you just attach a cup holder to the crutch. thats what i did and it worked great.

  • That is first class Sven. Too bad you had to go through so much pain to make these videos, but its clear to see you are making the most of your boredom!

Cheers bud, for the enduring dedication to your fans :)

  • ITS CALLED THE FOOT SHUFFLE

    LMAO

sven stop smelling that expensive glue.

  • lol! love it, also good stuff getting the footage at the end :P. neat cups too

  • Sven your kettle kicks serious ass, where did you get it?

  • What a cool Kettle!

  • wow what a great wife...

  • 5 Stars for genius!

  • How much longer do they think you will be off that leg?

  • What kind of tea do you have in that jar labeled tea? I am new to tea and people who know anything about tea are few and far between in the states.

  • @postiez You're asking the wrong person. Sorry.

  • Doing the same thing lol. but lucky me now its been 1month and 2weeks and im sorta walking now : ) limp but its okay

  • Looks as if your doing a moonwalk sideways.... You have just invented a new Move Sven :) Great to see you getting better. well You seem much better anyway

  • try balancing it on the toe of the cast

  • How many socks have you worn out? :-p

  • haha i have been going around on my butt for ages now.... wish i wouldav seen this video sooner! :P

  • haha, ur funny as crap man!!!

thats a tight coffie maker thing btw

  • Dude, why don't you just get a cup with a lid and tie it around you somewhere....you know, nonspill cups/ thermo cup, what ever. This looks very arkward and who knows how your foot will look like after a while doing this "shuffle" . Crutches suck....recover soon my friend!

  • good soloution and i like the kettle

  • There was an Ad for "hands free" crutches at the bottom of this video when I watched it! lol

  • Maybe, make yourself a cup holder for crutches?

  • Use a flask, put in a rucksack for a sec and travel to the next room.

  • good to see yer back on yer feet man, even tho its only 1 foot doing the side shuffle lol.

you'll be back on your bike in no time dude. *****

  • It takes so long that you'll finish the drink before you get to where you are going, then you have to shuffle right back to the kitchen.

  • Absolutely fabulous kettle indeed, the cup too.

  • I know one other way - get the tee, pour into bottle, screw cap, get cup and bottle in pockets, drag yourself to where you plan to drink it, take out bottle and cup, pour tea in cup, sit and drink.

Well done Sven! Now you are a real biker-one that knows not only what it is to ride, but also what it is to fall, and get up again.

    Do you miss riding now?

  • Sven, Your a motorcyclist and you never thought of using a backpack!?!?! ( prob ideally put the drink in a first ! )

nice kettle aswell, looks high tech!

  • that is one awesome kettle... lol :P

  • lol so determined to get ur tea lol

  • Hehe Pretty epic man Love your videos ^_^. Always make me smile and its nice to see a Brit im getting sick of all of these americans no offnese but the accnet drums into my ears sometimes its nice to hear somethign what i consider "Normal"

  • It's the new dance craze all around the world...."The Svengalie Shuffle!" :) :)

  • get some of the American style under arm crutches much easier to get stuffff :)

  • You know i`ve had your crash video for weeks now and i`ve still not watched this far into it, i will one day..... A tip i learnt before when i broke my foot , put a drop of superglue on all the joins/edges of the crutches, it will stop the clicking noise as you move around ( then you can sneek about more efficiently ;-) Bet your legs getting itchy about now ....lol

  • daw poor sven get well soon

  • Ahh there goes sven in his world of technology again, NICE KETTLE!

  • Next week, we get to watch Sven carry a cup with a broken leg AND a broken ankle :D

  • Sven youtube shuffling, its sweeeeet. im not real god though. you should try it whilst incapacitated

  • get a camping cup has a lid and keeps a hot drink warm for ages.

  • Doubles as a sweet new dance move! :D It'll be all the rage

  • @gaijin1200

    i hope thats sarcasm

  • @1kinomD not really sure about the sarcasm part. After the Macarena thing, i think people will do anything LOL. If I had this track, I would put it to music. and repost. :D

  • Not so many pain killers now then eh sven?

  • haha you're gonna blow out your knee doing that. the horror the horror!

  • When you get tired you can stop and have a drink.

  • Nice ass, sven.

  • Sven FTW! Genious Solution XD

  • My grandma used to serve cups of tea like that back in the war when one-of-there's had shot her leg clean off. She still managed to serve a mean cup of tea and she also worked topless. Grandad says she was the main reason we won the war.

  • put a velcro strap around the can and crutches. if your still worried, look up "bottle toppers"

  • hah! brilliant! :D

  • Wow man that looks painful.

Badass hot pot though, where'd you get it? and can I get one in the states?

You need to attach a cup holder to those crutches LOL.

Humans are very adaptive indeed you wanted to get from point a to b to a again while carrying a cup and you figured out a way to do it without the need for help thats awesum in itself.

  • lol, I love the kettle, only problem with your way, coffee gets cold by the time you get back :P, glad to see you up and about.

  • Hahahahahaha, sven you are tooooo funny!

  • just mount a cup holder on a RC car and drive it back to were ever you are from the kitchen than just make your way back!

  • what if you had to up your stairs sven?

  • @mobsterbillyjoe Then the cup can easily be placed on each step as you climb.

  • Or just move the kettle, teabags, sugar, spoon and mug next to your sofa/desk/seating area. And if you can persuade your wife to move the fridge, you've got milk... AND... BEER!

    Get well soon chap

  • That drink maker thing looks sweet.

  • hope you get better soon :(

  • get a coffee mug with a lid and then ye can't spill it

  • When it's time for your Gin and Tonic mix it up and pour it into your Camelback...

  • next video should be how you get up the stairs with a drink ;)

  • I don't know if you are married Sven, but if you are, that's what wives are for XD.

  • I had to do the same thing when I was on crutches when I got hit by a car while riding my bike back in 1998

  • haha i like ur kettle and cups

  • Thought you were about to pimp out your crutches with gyro-stabilized cup holders or something.

  • sven youtube 'melbourne shuffle' kids doing wat you doin

  • So you've finally watched the crash assuming from the end you have...

  • A man of many talents you are ;)

Looks like you've got the shuffle down pat!

  • haha lol

  • Awesome kettle!

  • Nice too see you out and about on your feet again.

  • buy a rc car that can have a cupholder on.... xD

  • Glad to see you making fun of it. My friend had the same metal things in his leg and now he's back playing football in school's team.

  • Well......it works,I hope you dont have to go too far.Loved the kettle also where did you get that?

  • nice one

  • Smart :)

  • Thanks for the morning humour. Tea or coffee?

  • Thanks for the morning humour. Tea or coffee?

  • wrong person, wrong time....could lead to accidently jacking up the good leg. imagine that.

  • C'mon Sven you should've bought a gadget to do that for you.

  • can ya do a video explaining how the UK mto and taxes on vechiles work..

  • Wear one roller skate. My brother sat on a skateboard to go from the sofa to the kitchen with food when he was alone with a broken ankle. He pushed himself using the wall.

  • HAHA. That was a great video! Genius.

  • i love your KTM pyjamas!

  • lots of time and thinking to come up with that haha genius xD

  • cool water boiler mate! :D

Looks a bit like melbourne shuffle xD

  • You servicing the bike with that or something?

  • hahaha xD

  • You could of course drink the tea in the kitchen :)
