Build it with a working plug, then nobody will realize. Using an existing plug, turn off the power to the plug, remove it and take out the existing box. You may have to cut nails or unscrew screws. Cut the bottom of the box out then attach it to the stud where the old one was. Wire your plug and wrap it with electricians tape a few times (over the terminal screws). Put your stuff in a baggy and tie a string to it. Store below the box and put the plug back on. No way to tell it's a safe.

This is a really good idea, only i took the bottom off of a marker, and i put a paper/note or like some cash/money. It looks like a normal marker but hollow on the inside. It still has the tip of the marker, so you can still write with it. Also, you could put it where someone will notice it, and ppl will think its normal. Thanks to a youtube video.

If you get a cover with a phone jack or coax end in it, you can get a "remodel" box which lets you mount to a stud in the same size hole so only the cover comes off. then you just remove 2 screws depending on style and the whole cover comes off instead of 1 in the cover and 2 in the plug type. Plus the added benefit is nobody will bring a phone or tv to your house to plug in. They make blanks also, but a true "spy" might figure that out.

something easier and less expensive than putting a hole in your wall is use a pre-existing socket..one that you never use in your basement or in the side bedroom with all the stuff that wont fit in your basement. Just unplug all the wires and do the rest of the vid
