You do not need a fido sim you need your own sim provider like t-mobile if your in USA or Vodafone in UK. The stealthsim allows you to use your own sim card.

the stealthsim allows yout to unlock the phone to call anyone but you need to have a SIM card and a voice plan with your GSM provider.

The corner has to be cut so that the StealthSim SE and SIM can fit in the SIM tray of the iPhone. This will not damage your sim card in any way.
