This is the original version, from the1972 album "Talking Book".They only added the brass section for the single, which charted in England in 1973.Jim Gilstrap & Lani Groves sing the first two lines on both versions,though I've no idea why that occured.I personally prefer the original version with no brass,but each to their own.Pax to all from 73soulboy.Xxx.

Songs were so uplifting and really had a beat like the classic R&B in the 70s and even in the 80s, like some Earth Wind & Fire, The Gap Band, and Zapp. Somewhere along the line though things started to change. Much of today's music starts to all sound alike--screaming and violence seems to be a common theme. Sad!
