i think using a pick is kinda new now, i mean i see people like troy sanders and jeff hugell or however u spell it use their fingers but using a pick makes a different sound and in my opinion sounds pretty unique

well 83 is pretty right in one way. I mean check out ryan martinie of mudvayne and try to play cradle for example. it just feels like picks are raping things and nowdays no one knows shit about slap basses :( and evryone is like: "'Guitar is the harder instrument' and 'guitar is so much more better' and 'why bass? guitar lot better, bassits just gay'" :/ thats why i myself dont much like picks :/

Tot true. It comes from someone who tried, but thinks that playng bass with a pick gives you less feeling in an instrument. When you play with you're fingers you can controle the volume, hardness of the tone and more importantly, the feeling bieng put in your music.

Note; this is not ment to pick on anyone (yes, seeing the ironic in this line), but to implie my oppinion. Not ment to insult anyone on how they play.
