um in 05 vs the broncos, brady threw two int that cost the pats the gm one to champ and one to lynch, in 06 in the final drive he threw an int to marlin jackson, in 09 he toss 3 int in that gm, last yr he threw an int to david harris and never recover after that.

But since then, the advantage is undeniably Manning's. From 2005 to 2010, Manning has had the better stats and the better playoff results.
As for last season, what Manning did with the players he had, considering the injuries the Colts had, was absolutely amazing. Brady could never have done that.

An MVP, on the other hand, is a more elite accomplishment, and multiple MVPs is an extremely elite accomplishment. Four MVPs trumps it all.

Manning had by far the best QBR over the past three seasons. They even did a three year study with Brady's 2007 season instead of his 2008 season (lost to injury), and Manning's numbers were still superior. Even Manning's "lesser" seasons (not as good as his 2004 year) were better than Brady's best two seasons.

Even after all that people seem to remember Manning's chokes more for some reason than Brady's. People remember the 6INT game against the chargers and the 4INT game against the Pats. They always show the replay of him throwing the ball to Porter in the superbowl.

um in 05 vs the broncos, brady threw two int that cost the pats the gm one to champ and one to lynch, in 06 in the final drive he threw an int to marlin jackson, in 09 he toss 3 int in that gm, last yr he threw an int to david harris and never recover after that.

@gmatsue84 Oh yes, you can. Actually, Brady's chokes are MORE pronounced. His interceptions lost the Pats playoff games in 2006 to Denver and 2007 to Indianapolis. Another critical interception should have lost them a game in 2007 to San Diego, but Troy Brown bailed Brady out by stripping the intercepting player. Brady's inability to get the ball off quickly enough lost them the Super Bowl against the Giants, and he flat out sucked against Baltimore in 2010.

I don't think so. Manning has thrown 4 interceptions in 2003 AFC Championship game, threw 0 TDs and 1 interception in 2004 AFC divisional. Last season he threw 11 interceptions in 3 games including 2+ pick-sixes. Superbowl 44 game-winning play was also a pick-6. Manning's playoff record is 9-10 including SEVEN one-and-done appearences. So appearently, Manning's ability to get the ball off way fast has caused him to lose one superbowl, ten seasons. "he flet out sucked against new york"

@gmatsue84 Your response showed exactly how the series has gone. From 2001 to 2004, the advantage was clearly Brady's (you mentioned Manning's poor performances earlier in the rivalry). But since then, the advantage is undeniably Manning's. From 2005 to 2010, Manning has had the better stats and the better playoff results.
As for last season, what Manning did with the players he had, considering the injuries the Colts had, was absolutely amazing. Brady could never have done that.

He didn't have a great year (Matt Cassel's 2008 season was better), and he only had one TD pass for the entire postseason. He was saved by the Tuck Rule against the Raiders. In the AFC championship game, he was injured and Drew Bledsoe led the team to victory. In the Super Bowl, his "drive" only set up a 48-yard attempt by Adam Vinatieri. Luckily for Brady, he made it.

I put far more stock in MVPs rather than rings. Anyone can win a ring if he's on the right team. By your reasoning, Jim Plunkett, Bob Griese, Bart Starr, Troy Aikman, and Ben Roethlisberger are better than Manning because they played on more championship teams.
An MVP, on the other hand, is a more elite accomplishment, and multiple MVPs is an extremely elite accomplishment. Four MVPs trumps it all.

@gmatsue84 I suggest you research ESPN's "Total Quarterback Rating" (QBR), which takes into account many more factors than just four stats. They did a special on the idea. Manning had by far the best QBR over the past three seasons. They even did a three year study with Brady's 2007 season instead of his 2008 season (lost to injury), and Manning's numbers were still superior. Even Manning's "lesser" seasons (not as good as his 2004 year) were better than Brady's best two seasons.
