Stef! Try placing your THUMBS together more, also lean Forward slightly. Your leaning WAY back too much. My daughter does the same thing when she shoots MY pistols, must be a GIRL THANG???:) Hope this helps and GOOD shootin' kiddo! Herb :)"aka...SARGE"
Good review partner! I have Ruger P95 (9mm) and a Metro Arms "American Classic II M1911,in 45 ACP.The M1911 is from the Philipines and was only $420 brand new. Has all the top end features and is VERY reliable. I want to get a G21,but it will be awhile, I like that 45 round as I carried it in the Army in a shoulder holster. The JHP rounds look like a Flying ASH TRAY coming at cha! :)
"A gun is like a seat belt,if you dont have it on when you need it,then it's already too late"....ME!
Very Impressive ! my Wife who is about the same size as Yours 1st shot my G21, She did real well too, In fact surprising to me she liked it better then my G17,or G23. Just goes to show ya how smooth them Glocks are ! Good clip Folks, and keep ROCKIN THEM GLOCKS !!!
@Vietboy1st ...This is my first handgun...but I haven't got it yet. But I went with the Glock 21 .45 Caliber because Im a pretty big guy. I've shot a Glock .40 cal and I loved it!! Will I love this one just as much... if not more??
She has good basic training...keeping the barrel pointed in a safe direction. This is an excellent training video. One still left in the chamber. Good on both of you.
I'm interested in a Glock 10 mm. I have an original Glogk 19 and it fits my hand like a glove. The larger Glocks felt a little large in my hand even though I can palm a full size basketball. This might be just the ticket. Thanks for the video!!!
@fjtrkdjffg Not really the barrel is not shorter. If you want to be technical, there are three measurements that make the g21sf different than the standard g21.
1. The trigger reach from center of the backstrap to center of the trigger ,is reduced by 3/16".
2 The area where the middle finger takes hold. It is 1/16" less on the Glock 21SF.
3. The circumference of the grip-frame at the butt. 6-9/16" on a standard size Glock 21. The SLIMMED 21SF grip-FRAME is 6-1/4"
These three points are word for word differences between the reg. g21 and the g21sf, from Glock. Take what you want from the statistics and call the gun whatever you want! It really doesn't matter.
Steph, lean forward into the shot. Sorta opposite of the way you are standing in the video. Do that and record it so we can all see how your shooting improved, and see your cute ass sticking out. :)
Bring the support hand up for a higher grip, fingers lieing in the grooves of the fingers on the strong hand, most of the gripping force is with the support hand and the strong hand is relaxed, but pushing into the support hand.
Fix her grip and stance and she will be more comfortable shooting. This will help to mitigate the anticipation (pre-ignition push in this case). Feet, knees, hips, shoulders square to the target, strong foot lightly back, knees bent so that when she looks down, they are about even with her toes and lean forward as if about to start running.
The Glock 21 might just a tad too big for her hands, thus making her uncomfortable. That would explain why her shooting wasn't so good. Comfort really does make a difference! Maybe the .45 has a big too much recoil for her to manage as well. Have you tried letting her shoot anything else?
Regardless, she's probably hooked on that .45 now. It's hard not to fall in love with that round.
I think her stance is affecting her balance. She should be leaning in a bit, not arching her back like that. You are right, it is usually ergonomics that make a big difference.
lol yeah... good video, it seems like most newer shooters always lean back because of the recoil but not knowing that leaning forword is actually safer.
Eventhough she thought it was empty, she treated it as if was still loaded by keeping it pointed down range. But she needs to lean more forward when shooting
lol, when i was 9 with my carbine i could hit a rabbit form 300 yards away (im bullshiting i make my own flamethrowers, not guns, cuz zombie are harder to kill with guns than torching them)
cute girls shooting big hand guns.... theres something very arousing about that. And baby youre left hand should be higher on the frame with youre thumb almost touching the slide.
Use your sites honey, and don't anticipate the shot. If you anticipate, you jerk the gun a split second before the shot, causing the round to go too high or to low. Relax, nice easy trigger pull, don't fear the recoil.
at the end she says that she is done, but there was one more round.good job, that she didn´t turned around with the finger on the trigger.many people do that mistake, they turn around and if someone tells them that there is one last round, they accidentially hit the trigger.
Limp wristing is always an issue and so is the possibility of getting ejected shells in the face. I would highly recommend eye protection. Other than that, very good job, 45 is hard on new shooters, one would think specially on petit size girls. congrats
The lack of eye protection is not a big deal in this situation. At a crowded range, I think its more important. Ear protection, which she seems to have, is key. In these types of vids, I always look out for muzzle discipline, which she does a nice job with. She might open her elbows just a hair to allow he body to absorb that recoil a little more. All in all..a sexy gal doing a nice job with a stout recoiling polymer .45. Kudos.
Don't polymer frames dampen recoil by flexing? I heard that was why the Glock stood up to the punishment of the 10mm Auto when the Colt Delta Elite and Bren Ten fell apart, on top of having less perceived recoil than either of them.
Well...any recoil dampening you get by virtue of the plastic frame will be undone by its light weight (in my opinion). A heavy gun eats up recoil. I think that a mod 1911 in .45 will present less felt recoil than a Glock 21. I dont know about the Delta Elite "falling apart". Alot of makers are currently putting out 1911s in 10mm, .45 Super and even the punishing .460 Rowland.
really? have you ever fired a glock 21, it feels like a compact 9mm in terms of recoil to me, every 1911 ive ever fired has had significantly more recoil than my glock, i like 1911 and im not trying to discount it, do you think you can describe what mods you use with your 1911s to reduce recoil,(purely a constructive question from someone who knows little about 1911s)thanks
Delta and Bren 10mm are good weapons but.. The Glock 20 wider grip poly frame takes the bite out of the recoil enough to make shooting easier on the hand. You still feel the power alright but it's less of a shock. The 10mm is just a superior round for sure; power, capacity, controlability (& not a wildcat/quasi wildcat round either.)The poly frame is superior to steel; light, durable, weatherable, easy carry. Now put the two together. G20 is king.
Funny how you forgot to tell her to put her eye safety on, instead it was resting on the top of her head absorbing sunlight instead of possible shell casings. Safety first!
Yep, it's always nice to assume that something "never" happens. Those are usually the people that "something" happens to. Never take safety for granted, and if you ever ask any firearms expert, they will always be the first to say "EYE PROTECTION!!!" I'm done lecturing you, have fun when somebody your responsible for ends up hurt because of your negligence.
I understand the importance of safety, but when you grow up around guns, shooting and hunting since you were a little kid, you don't really think about eye protection. the people who always say "wear eye protection" are the ones who have never been hunting and havent touched a gun until they shot at a range. In a nutshell It's not worth bitching to someone about it, it's not a life or death situation.
Yeah, it's one of those things, it MIGHT happen, but my mom's a bigtime hick, grew up around guns, fired them all the time. What does she say about guns? Safety matters. Eye safety matters too, but is it really as important as knowing how not to shoot yourself? Goggles can't fix that!
If that was her first time I have to give her a thumbs up. She wasn't afraid of it, and a 45 is a pretty big gun. She didn't seem to flinch and the aim wasn't really that bad, it was pretty well in line with the target. My gf only shot my 40 once and almost dropped it. Kudos. Keep her practicing and put up another.
With all the other "I'd bang you/hold my gun" posts, I will assume your comment to me just one more... But, the OP could easily take that as a deadly threat.
Don't lean back and don't jerk at the trigger slow gentle squeeze and let the round suprise you when it goes off. shooting (well) takes time, practice and patience (for most of us). Keep at it, you're doing fine. And damn cute too!
She is adorable. lucky you, dude.

Could have gone that way, but if you've noticed she keeps the gun pointed down range and toward the ground like i taught her :)
But yes, accidents,unfortunately , happen.

Good man, taught her well.

Funny how you forgot to tell her to put her eye safety on, instead it was resting on the top of her head absorbing sunlight instead of possible shell casings. Safety first!

Important = not shooting someone when you think the guns not loaded. ( which happens more then we'd like to know)
Eye protection incase something happens that never happens = not even worth you bringing up
thead22 4 years ago
Yep, it's always nice to assume that something "never" happens. Those are usually the people that "something" happens to. Never take safety for granted, and if you ever ask any firearms expert, they will always be the first to say "EYE PROTECTION!!!" I'm done lecturing you, have fun when somebody your responsible for ends up hurt because of your negligence.
Alpha530 4 years ago

Tell her to take her top off.

Why is it a girl cannot post a pistol video without some sexist kinky comment being left? jeeeeez

Girls and guns. Woohoo. Too bad she was hitting the ground right in front of the target.

But, the OP could easily take that as a deadly threat.
tehgreatmutato 4 years ago
Yeah i guess that is true, but they know its not meant as a threat. :)

Don't lean back and don't jerk at the trigger slow gentle squeeze and let the round suprise you when it goes off. shooting (well) takes time, practice and patience (for most of us). Keep at it, you're doing fine. And damn cute too!

Get the glasses down over those eyes. If you have them, you may as well use them to protect your eyes.
Other than that, good shooting!
