Saw this movie from the restored footage back in 1970 in Philadelphia, PA. My father thought I was crazy going to see a movie that had been out for 37 years. Only time he was ever wrong - One of the greatest cinematic experiences I ever had. Most of packed a helluva wallop back in 1933. One of the greatest movies of all time!

Max Steiner composed some truly great music, and KING KONG is his finest. In terms of its originality and what it brought to the film dramatically and emotionally, the score for KONG is pure genius.

I can feel the emotion and excitement just listening to it. It's so hard not to get goosebumps during the opening credits or choke up when Kong is dying and plummets from the Empire State Building.

Max Steiner, the great composer who wrote this dramatic score for one of the greatest motion pictures of all time, also wrote arguably the most beautiful of all movie themes: the theme from "A Summer Place", still played today and known by all. They don't make 'em like that anymore.....
