  • WILLIE WEEKS!!!!

  • willie muthafuckin weeks...!!!! that grooooooooove....!!!! SOLID AS A CHEVY ROCK.... ;-)

  • every bass player should have this cd it change my bass playing life.

  • I am alices mum......... 60 this year !!!!!!!!

  • I was in " miss selfrige " when I first rocked to this back in '73 . rushed out to buy it......... been listening eversince.

  • Beautifully talented

  • 14 years old when I found this album. Completely blown away!!!! I'm 37 now. Still completely blown away!!!! If you were to try to define the word "JAM" this would be it Y'ALL.

  • Oh yeah "Willie Weeks" brought the bizness to this song, and pulled the audience with it. A phenomenal performance that night, actually on the whole show, he showed his talents.

  • Look closely at the cover of George Harrison's Dark Horse LP - all the way to the left the brown T-Shirt says .... Willie Weeks Y'All . hell yeah

  • This was and still one of the best Jam session of all time, Truly a Masterpiece.

  • I'm speaking reference to the original studio recording with more prominent vocals, but this is one of those songs that occupies one of those "special spaces" in music history...kinda like Gil Scott-Heron "Home Is Where the Hatred Is." Songs in which the artist tells the audience a LOT about themselves. This was a great song, but knowing that Donny Hathaway was paranoid schizophrenic puts this song in a WHOLE DIFFERENT LIGHT.

  • Thanks Mangy17! This is a classic and I can listen to it for the rest of the year with the same level of excitement. Is this on I Tunes ? Its got to be !!!!!

  • What a groove! Lovin' the "movements" and the bassline is sick!

  • fells pretty good yall

  • doesn't get much better than this!

  • I BROUGHT THIS ALBUM HOME AND SAT FOR A YEAR TO TRY AND LEARN THE SOLO. I LEFT IT ALONE, REASON. THAT'S WILLIE. AND NOBODY ELSE CAN BE WILLE WEEKS BUT WILLIE WEEKS. MY CLAIM TO THIS BUSINESS IS THAT I AM ABLE TO WORK WELL WITH OTHERS. AND MY FOUNDATION AND APPROACH TO ANY TUNE THAT I PLAY I TAKE IT FROM AND USE IT FROM LARRY EXUM AND WILLIE WEEKS. I'VE FOUND MYSELF AS WELL. IT IS GOOD TO FIND YOURSELF. THANKS LARRY AND WILLIE.

  • Two words: WILLIE WEEKS!!!!

  • Trevor Williams of Audience (Bass player and multi-instrumentalist) cites Willie Weeks as one of the top bass players....good enough for me!

  • @TheSRalston what are r u saying

don't consider yourself worthy of holding a bass nor commenting about Willie Weeks

  • @TheSRalston man shut up

  • Found it.............An` it Still Sounds as good today as it did back then,

    Fuggin Awesome!! 2nd Movement Ya`ll

  • Neck Bone music. Know what I mean? Head just moving and the neck too.

  • I saw Willie Weeks perform in 1974 with Ron Wood's solo band in London, England. I didn't know who Weeks was at the time, but I was mightily impressed. Check out the instrumental tune "Crotch Music", written by Willie Weeks & showcasing his bass riffs. It's on Ron Wood's first solo album.

  • Willie Weeks made history with this bass solo. Still viewed as a reference amongst his peers. And what about the groove (although the sound is a bit outdated) Didn't hurt to have Cornell Dupree on the bandstand. The guy cut his teeth with King Curtis, so he knows a trick or two.

  • DAMN, THIS GROOVE PUTS A SMILE ON MY FACE EVERYTIME I HEAR IT!!! GO AHEAD ON DONNY...R.I.G. (aka "Rest In Groove")!!!

  • YES YES YES!!!!!

  • I've searched for this song and I thought I'd never find it..thanks so much! This is true musicianship!

  • Music the way it was meant to be played...

  • professional musicians showing how it's done. if you appreciate music broken down into its parts. this is it. every individual is a master of his tool. i will love this till they close the casket. trying to tell you now. it hurt me so much when donnie took his life. he was a music master. this is not a gift that god gives to everyone. he gave it to him but he was not ready or could not deal with the fame. it was the same, to me as phyilis hyman. she was extra ordinary. but this was my man.

  • none other.

  • YES YES YES!!! Spread the LOVE!! R.I.P. Donny... my man!

  • yo were u find this??!...good ass video!!!

  • I bought this LP I think in '72 when it came out. I loved all his recordings.

  • @HMJohnsonGuitar Gee, that was long ago.... lol jamming all day to this Hell To Tfhe Yeah

  • Memories; 1972 Kadena , Okinawa, Stay B , the Koza, the Bush, those Na-san's, the Ah-kadama wine & listening to this LP

  • heard it for the first time.. all i can say is ..yes .. def

  • this is the best shit!

  • HOTDAMN!

  • What's not to like about the late Donny Hathaway? Extraordinary talent, gone much too soon. The combo he put together for this tour was world class, and the performances are off the charts.

  • the baaaaaadest bass player in the country :)

  • Mr. Dupree will be solely and soulfully missed

  • RIP Cornell Dupree...A master...

  • "pass that joint!"

  • @najsuroviji i got the next 4 rolled up!
