  • Hi. Can you please tell me how you are "playing" your whistle, i.e., which system you use and if you have installed a decoder? Thank you, and love your videos!

  • @brohoop

Hello.Thank you for watching my video and for asking me a question.

This BLI-Blueline Big Boy has a factory-installed DCC sound system. So,you can make the engine whistle with a DCC commander.

  • does the rear set of pisons swing like the front or are they prottipical and are fixed in place

  • How hi is the Bigboy. John M.

  • @Poppops37

Hello. Thank you for watching my video and for asking me a question.

I do not know the exact dimension of the BLI Big Boy,but it is about 2 1/4 inches high.

  • @0:14 that centipede tender didn't like the tight curve.

  • @JBofBrisbane

Hello.Thank you for watching my video. Yes,Big Boy's centipede tender truck is too long for my tight cuve track. At the same time,I found there is something wrong with the track.

  • I have 2 big boys from mth and i love both of them

  • @boxcarfa

Hello.Thank you for watching my video.

It's great that you have two MTH Big Boys.I am sure they are very well made and expensive. I am afraid I cannot afford to one.

Do they puff and sound synchronized?

  • No way..that cant be real?

  • I would love to get a Big Boy, but they are expansive lol

  • @WorldOfNothin

Hello.Thank you for watching my video and for giving a comment.

Yes,BLI,MTH,Athearn and many other manufactures released "Big Boy" but they are all expensive.

  • i got a bachmann dcc ez command controller today. that is cool controlling 2 locos at once. its a little awkward,i am used to one only, now moving cars, using uncoupler magnets, etc .

  • @bobcats330

Hello. That's great you got a DCC controller. I have a EZ command, too.I think It is very easy to handle.

Yes,you can enjoy running several trains on the same track at one time. Please be careful not to crash a train to another.

  • @houtokur8 i have done that. its kinda tricky running these things together. i am still used to 1 at a time. i am also using magnets now, before didnt like them. i kinda figured out how to drive in consist with 3 engines. its tough because two are the cruddy bachmann set engines but i like the santa fe b&g wrbonet and an athearn gp60m bnsf 157

  • @bobcats330

Hello. No wonder you like SF warbonnet ,GP60M and BNSF157.They are all cool!

    I like F3 Warbonnet best.

  • thats cool 1 steamer pulls that many cars. thats the only thing i like about steam. i prefer diesel , i look the the look of a diesel consist. want one of my one day. got to get dcc first.

  • @bobcats330

Hello.Thank you for watching my video.I like this Big Boy since I was born in steam era.I am sure you will be able to enjoy various operation in DCC.

  • @jdubbjazzbass

Hello.Thank you for watching my video and for giving me a nice comment.

  • I need help the Athearn Genesis doesn't sound good but the BLI sounds great. Sould I just save up more to get the BLL or just go with Athearn. Thanks

  • @iriegim5481

Hello.Thank you for watching my video and asking me a question.

I think it is a matter of taste but I would prefer Athearn's Big boy to BLI's. I can enjoy more varieties of sound in Athearn's and the form in detail, too.

Why don't you just enjoy running your locomotive?

  • NIce vid. I have a big boy too except mine's #4023

but it's made by BLI "broadway limited" but I got it for under 200$ complete with smoke and sound

  • Hello.Thank you for watching my video and for giving me a comment.

You are lucky that you got a full equipped Big Boy for such a price.

My BLI made Big Boy and Athearn made are now installed Suethe smoke units.

  • yeah. oh and if you want that authentic big boy smoke look... you can get this stuff called like..."super smoke" or something like that

  • Thank you. Let me check it. It must be great !!

  • oh I found out what the solution is called: its called "Mega Steam". I use it for my Big boy and it gives it the authentic look

  • Hello.Yes,I have heard of it although I have not seen one yet.

  • Whats up with the tender at 0:12?

  • Hello. Thank you for watching my video and for giving me a comment.

I am afraid there is something wrong with rail joints.

  • Just to sweet...... I'd love to have that sound decoder in my Allegheny....

  • Hello, thank you for watching my video and for giving me a comment.

If your Allegheny is "DCC ready", I think it is easy to install a sound decoder.

  • I'd probably get to car 25 and she' d uncouple on me. Nice :)

  • Thank you for watching my video.

I know what you mean. I glued some of couplers to prevent uncoupling,

  • blue line all the way

  • Thank you for watching my video.

Yes, I have several Blueline locos and I enjoy them.

  • How muuch was it!?

  • Hello, thank you for watching my video.

I bought it for $328.99. later,I installed a DCC decoder and a Suethe smoke unit.

  • Wow you got space to pull 50! I can only pull 20 any more than that and it would look like a snake chasing it's own tail!! Check out my vid: "model trains big boy 4015 & challengers"

  • Hello, thank you for watching my video. Yes,my Big Boy is also chasing its tail.

I enjoyed your video. Your Challenger and passenger cars are quite beautiful!! I liked them.

  • Do you have any problems with BLI's products? I'm debating on buying an old BLI "J" class 4-8-4. But MTH has a version out as well as Bachmann. The detail of the BLI is supirior but I worry about preformance....

  • friend of mines has one. he says it runs great so I don't think you'll have any problems

  • That's a great locomotive. I have on of my own, too. It's the same number... It pulls very well. I was able to pull my athearn challenger around with it driving the other way.

    Great video.

  • Thank you for watching my video.

I like BLI Bib Boy very much. It can easily pull a long freight train, and it's sound system is great.
