My dad and I stopped on our motorcycles a couple of hours ago outside Piedmont WV, a sign there said "birthplace of Aubrey Stewart". We thought, who was he? He traded his job at the Luke paper mill to fight. My dad worked at the Luke mill for about 40 years.
2 points to make: first up, the "German" officer at the head of the trailer has an abysmal accent. No dialect coach on set?
Secondly, the archive material has the wrong aspect ratio. I's very saddening to see that error in a show on which you and your team obviously worked very, very hard. What is it with post production crews (and directors, and EPs and techcheckers)? Don't they see that the 4:3 material has just been stretched?
respect. i stubbed my toe in iraq and thought it was bad. now i feel like a pogue..than again it was during a 4 day recon patrol carrying a 240 and drinking boiling water so..yeah
It looks like this should be good. There are a lot of screwed up things about America without a doubt. But, I still think this is the greatest country on the planet. It is made up of EVERYONE from every nation and the combination of that kind of is what makes us what we are; not Italian, not Irish, not Black, not Native American, not German, not Ducth, not Chinese, not Japanese, not Indian but American. Everyone that sacraficed their lives honorably should be honored.
This movies still proves that the older generation can have faith in movies! There are the few who share stories of passion that will make us better. And we cannot let the world take away our love for movies that have such passion.
WOW !!! Very powerful !! I cannot wait to see the entire film. Finally a story, which I had no idea. Thanks for educating me and my family. Thank you for making a real powerful story. I am thankful for all the scarifies these men made for the world.
cant wait till this comes out i think it comes out in February i think thats what my dad told me he is the germen who killed the wounded soldier by the tree
It was an honor to help out with this production! The St. Vith/Schoenberg shoot was amazing...the battlefields are still littered with remnant of US and Nazi forces, craters and foxholes still present.....
It looks like this is going to be a good movie, and it was about time this story got told. Respekt to All soldiers that fought for our liberation. Succes distributing your movie. Greatings from Belguim.
I would also like to mention how moving it was at the end of filming when the author read out the names of the11 men whose lives were lost during this battle. There was not a sound but his voice reading out the names. You could feel the respect for those soldiers all around us. I felt so honored to be there.
It was so amazing watching this film being made when they were shooting in Maryland in 90 degree plus weather this summer with actors dressed for the dead of winter in WWII wool army clothes. Everyone was incredible and made my son and I feel so welcome. It was the type of experience that a mom is grateful to be able to share with her teenage son. We can't wait for the movie to shown this February! Thank all of you!!
Always been proud to be from Piedmont, WV and this makes it even better! Good job!

@franzklinelehigh Thank you. Yes, there was a dialect coach but I don't speak German so I can't tell...
The aspect ratio is correct, the frame was zoomed to fit the 16:9 HD frame but the aspect ratio was left intact.

This reminds me of the movie, "Regarding Henry." Why, you ask? Because it's the only other trailer that made me cry.

@WBH9 Oh my gosh, i get it...i thought they were American soldiers...i didnt realize they were Germans...wow, i am slow...
MexicanDoctorJ 1 year ago
@WBH9 They did that for a reason, the movie is based on a True Story and its far to painful for the family wenn shoutings Gemans would play along.
Remember these Eleven soldiers were slaughtered like animals by the SS.
Just to shock the U.S. Military.
