  • what does 20 years old mean?

  • @aeiou772 It's amazing how fast this 20-year-old technology really is. This model puts many new turbine-powered models to shame.

  • @aeiou772 The Jet was built and first flown 20 years ago.

  • The sounds remind me of Kamikaze fighter planes xD

  • where did you get that? i must have one

  • Beautiful model and very impressive for 20-year-old technology, I agree! I never cease to be amazed... Thanks for sharing, as always!

  • 4:00 checked my phone

  • anyways thats what kids use to drop water ballons on people know days :)

  • pilot are you ready? - pilot - it's about fucking time you lazy ass directors. lol jk nice flight :)

  • Thought he was gonna lose it in the clouds.

  • wauw cool good work boys

  • Has anyone ever been hit by one of these RC planes going at high speed? I'd be terrified to be anywhere near.

    the sound resembles a mosquito

  • doppler speed calculation result are good, near 180 mph,

perhaps it dosent look like that fast in the video

here is how to calculate speed

  • 1 wicked plane

  • Good old ducted fans.

    Love the camera work

  • @paul30003 yep the cameraman is good compare to manny other

  • Brings back a few memory's...had a lot of fun with ducted fans back in the early 90s, nice to see the odd one still going...

  • good olll nelson .91

  • can you imagine if a bomb was strapped to that thing...

  • Oh man that´s nostalgic also at Sound :) Nice Video and also great BVM Viper (-_-)

  • thats not even 100 mph, I can tell just by listening to it.

I've run many doppler tests on edf

  • damn that's quick!

  • dear santa...

  • THAT GUY KNOWS HOW TO FUCKING FILM!!!

  • Ale popierdala 321 km/h O KURWA!

  • WOW! Radculously fast! I LOVE IT!!!

  • very pretty little jet

  • Great flying - beautiful plane.

  • good speed

  • Se bater o nariz de um...

  • lol people are stupid.

  • The flying was good, but the landing was amazing.

  • this isn't turbine engine

  • You only need to LISTEN to it, to know that it's moving pretty damn fast. The doppler shift is huge.

  • thats some really nice machinery uve got there! love it!

lol at 1:57 "getting our leafblower ready to go"

  • This thing needs a camera!

  • ho much g-force is that pulling?!

  • cool

  • Classic Eric Baugher (R.I.P.) Viper paint job.

  • this is fastforwarded on playback, OR the guy behind the camera is a real ninja !!!

  • @mazerz No fast-forward -- just *lots* of practice behind the camera on my part.

  • @mazerz IT's got to be a NINJA , cause the talk in the background is OK... WOW that plane is fast....

  • Good flying and nice jet

  • I think this pilot's flying skills are more impressive than the plane itself.

  • price?

  • Comment removed

  • How much was it total?

  • jesus thats fast....

  • how long it can fly? in distance and in minutes as well please?

  • how long it can fly?

  • LOOKS LIKE AWESOME FUN, I WANT ONE!

  • engine start @ 1:32 take off @ 2:06

  • mount a FPV on it

  • One wicked jet ! I could feel the G forces as she climbed and kept telling myself "On top, breathe".I would need a flight suit to fly that baby ! LOL !

  • what's teh ceilling on that plane?

  • I got a RC rocket sled that can go 200+ mph. multi stage. I can use it rain or shine. but I can't use it if the wind is 15+ mph or it will go out of controll and crash and explode in a giant fireball.

  • cant beat my 1989 piece 'o cake

  • Awesome!!!

  • how much would one of these cost

  • cool rc jet fighter ;) 5* speed ... have romania'n flag on it : -red.yellow.blue.- thats cool :D

  • U could replace the glow engine with a jetcat turbine engine to hit 2 times the speed u achieved with the glow engine

  • @SuperSurya1234 not really, the turbine would sound much better, but not give you much more speed than that.

  • @nighthawk0077 . For the difference in price between turbine or BVM Nitro DF. GOTTA GO WITH BVM NITRO NELSON 91R :) 180-230 MPH.

  • damn... its so fast

  • They call that a "nitro engine"? How quaint. Those used to be called two-cycle model engines when I was a kid, because that's the only kind of engine there was. We didn't have jets at all, and four-cycle model engines were finicky and expensive, though many preferred them for their torque and the fact that they have a very "scale" sound.

This DF plane flies better than most I have seen. Most of them got way too heavy during the build and could hardly even move until at 70% throttle or so.

  • thats a fighter from belguim i life in belguim

  • for that age it looks really well, nice job guys, the jet is sweet, thats how id put it very nice, why dont you try fit a small camra too it then upload the video from the on board view ^^ just an idea, i mean a really small one imagine how fast it will be

  • how did the receiver cope with that 20 years ago? AM range right?

  • that was a crackin' nitro engine! Must be ported by a pro or something... had far more rpms than ordinary "rc airplane nitro's".

  • damn thats fast!!!!.....good one for 20years old

  • so what is a glow engine will someone please explain

  • @BCQD4 A glow engine is more recently known as a nitro engine but (surprise!) these engines don't actually need nitro to run. In fact, some of the most powerful glow/nitro engines run on a mix of just methanol and oil.

  • @xjet The methanol/oil mix is what we use here in Brazil, a whole lot cheaper than importing NITRO/glow fuel from AMerica...

  • @xjet a glow engine is an engine that uses glow plug(s) rather than spark plugs. Diesel car/van engines are glow engines. they fire the fuel inside the cylinder when it reaches the red hot glowing aire at the top of the cylinder inside the glow plug. the wire is kept hot from the last ignition of the engine, though some engines use electricity to heat the wire :)

  • A glow engine, in this context, is a 2-cycle, alcohol burning diesel engine. Probably about 0.91 cu. in. It is situated inside the aircraft body in Viojett fan unit...kinda like an EDF but with a large, alcohol burning engine instead of an electric motor.

  • sUCH AN AWSOME pLAEN...

  • Love that scream!

  • now THATS an ASSHOLE!!! :D

    what a tube ^^

  • yes it's very fast , how much 4 this ?

  • very nice

  • 20 year old but I'm sure some of the electronics were replaced right!? hahaha...

  • 1:50 Hurry Hit The Throttle!!!

    Lol Jk Nice Video

  • This Guy Got Money

  • Thats an EDF? Wow!

  • @catamaranman333 Not an EDF -- just a DF. Powered by a glow engine, not electric.

  • sounds like an RC car

  • But does it bend ?

  • TEAM NEW ZEALAND!!!!!! YEAH!!!!! GO GO GO!!!

  • hey i've costumized my f16 falcon the engine was from an tomcat and the wings is from f15 its cool try to costumize your your plane will be cool watch my video

  • nice landing mate

    well done

  • i naver thought nitro engines had the rpm to create these kind of speeds.... the new technology is cool too>

  • Whoever's flying it is quite the acrobat! beautiful plane.

  • intereseting how wings dont break off when doing a hard pull up

  • how much

  • its a standard internal combustion engine commonly used in rc scale avionics. the nelson 91r has been used in a lot of radio controlled aircraft.

  • dammm thats fast

  • What a beautiful plane. LOVE that is flies so fast on an older engine and 10% Nitro.

  • hmmm id hate to see an army of these turn into transformers

  • Whats that silver thing which looks a bit like a muffler at the top at 0:34?

  • @cotmullion It is the muffler for the nitro engine that spins the fans

  • @chiosex You're kidding right ? You don't actually believe that do you?

  • @pencon61 why would I not believe it? Nothing strange, infact its kinda old tech, most people just use an edf now or go the whole hog and get a real jet turbine but that costs a shitload.

  • nice vid!!!

  • awesome!

  • That little pilot inside is very brave. :-)

    Its a rocket.

    Greetings from Belgium

    Erik

  • btw, i can run faster, but my leg is broken, soooo..... lol jk

  • if enny one waaaaaaaaander 200mph=320km/h

    1mph=1,6km/h!

  • that is amazing

  • wow

  • jesus that radio has some range to it!!!!! and that plane is FASSTTTT! nice flying.

  • @sniperspy1234 now thats funny LOL!!!!!

  • really cool.. nice sound !! very fast

  • the scenery is beautiful, where is this?

  • @frankusteph It's in Tokoroa, New Zealand

  • haha some ones phone rings at 4.01

  • FABULOUS!!!!

  • 2:21 love to have an maxmos 40 call <3

  • Well Guys i found my ride to work i don't know about any1 else XD

  • Nice.

  • nice plane!

  • Nice flight :-)

  • very nice. i get 191.4mph (at 3:20) using a doppler program (rcspeedo - temp set to 75)

  • Comment removed

  • Can you put in a bigger engine and make it go 300 mph?

  • aww I thought it was a REAL jet!

  • how many jet engines from that planes model would it take to fly i wonder... that would be funny as hell to see... kinda

  • that an f20? looks like one

  • VERY NICE, he really knows how to fly it

  • Very nice....... Love the oldies dishing out some sweet speed!

  • Tearing up the sky old-school!

  • Hmmm..terrorists could attach warheads to these things and use them for their evil deeds...

Instead, those numbnuts shove warheads up theirs and use themselves for delivery.

  • wow im not an rc fan at all but thats really fucking cool.

  • Great videos mate. and of course being a kiwi helps:)

  • Very Nice!

  • X-Jet, I was lucky enough to purchase a TGA Interceptor kit from a guy who had it tucked away in his basement. Finished the build And sent it to the paint shop about a week ago. Im set on EDF but your video makes me wanna go old school DF. I pylon race on Sundays and love the fast stuff. I hope my bird can pull impressive numbers like yours. Nice video Bro... Polishedbrother......

  • Why does it sound so rough starting up

  • I remember seeing these type jets when I got away from flying in the early 90's. Boy, We've come a long way baby!

  • At 3:53 I've heard a "S O S" in morse code.... lol maybe a celphone ringing...

  • Thats pretty awesome for a 20yr old plane, 185-200mph , pretty impressive

  • a 20 year old RC thats that fast? it must have an INCREDIBLY talented pilot to have lasted so long

  • I wish xjet used km/h :P Its 2010 people! :P

  • @MusicalAndTall haha lol, 200mph is ±320 kmh, fast enough :D

  • @0TOM007

Oh I know what It is in km/h but its just a bone I like to pick :P Plus doesnt 320 sound better than 200? :)

  • @MusicalAndTall haha yeah, 320 does sound alot better!

  • @MusicalAndTall maybe he lives in america...like me

  • @GoEflight .... He doesnt. Im not retarded

  • Very nice vid! Slick plane and great pilot! Great job.

  • Nice one, we had one similar at our FunFly, the sound of it was pretty cool, it was the second fastest thing at the show among 40 turbine jets there :-)

  • mate that is cool, is a plane like that hard to fly?

  • @militantmindset Yes, they do take some skill. You would certainly want a few hours under your belt with a fast aerobatic model before trying one of these.

  • Well done to the camera man

  • Really fast one! I like it! nice sound! I wonder how many flights the motor already made?!

  • @swissbaschtel I don't know but I think this model has been flown several times a year so the hours must be getting up there.

  • @xjet do these rc models have a fatigue life limit at all? how many hours has the model got on it?

  • Any idea how many RPM it idles at? It sounds like it has quite a range on it.

  • @ksandom40 I'm not sure but it sounds like 4,000-5,000 RPMs to me.

  • @xjet I had guessed a bit lower, but that sounds quite reasonable.

  • @xjet 25.000 rpm

  • @xjet Try 28K rpm.

  • 1:56 "Getting the leaf-blower ready to go" :)

  • I wish I had that kind of money. :')

  • WOW!!!!!! that thing is screaming fast... looks awesome and fly's great. Props to the pilot!

  • Very lovely model there. Cheers for showing Bruce.

  • Wow, I remember seeing that jet in RC magazines.

  • Could anyone comment on how much a setup like this would cost as opposed to a turbine setup?
