I somewhat believe Erica (the waitress) is the badie behid things. There is a screenshot that she discuss about killing or not men who cheats on their girls. I think she uses Catherine (her friend, probably?) to seduce engaged guys and test their loyalty. Then she kills then while they sleep (therefore the urban legend that you die after betraying your gf). I may be totally wrong, but if you look into it, it makes sense.
