The movie is having fun by saying that the events in Night of the Living Dead is based on a real event and then the character proceeds to tell what really happened by saying there were chemicals used to destroy drugs which leaked into a hospital mortuary causing the dead to come back to life.

I remember when the movie 28 days later came out and during an interview,the interviewer brought up the fact that ROTLD was the first zombie movie to feature zombies running and the filmmakers were dismissive of ROTLD.I love it when people act like they were the 1st ones to do something and someone calls them out.This is a great flick and will last alot longer than 28 Days Later.
