i can never see my gecko eating the CGD and it looks like he never touches it when i put it in his cage, should i just hand feed it to him? but he poops when i do anything thing that can help that?
@Amontking1 I bought mine from a local pet store-- but I'd only do that if you think ALL of the geckos in the cage look healthy. l'd recommend looking for crested gecko breeders. I buy my plastic foliage from local places, I'm sure they'll have something you'll like. I personally buy the crested gecko diet from Pangea Reptile, they have it the cheapest I've found.
This video helped alot, I just bought one but she hasn't arrived yet. My white lined gecko is alot hared to care for than a crestie. but I still love him :)
all of ur geckos probably died by now because they do need UBB. and u should use a tall not a long. they like to climb,DID U NO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :>
Are there any sicknesses that i should watch out for? Or what to do if they are sick? I know of MBD but i cant find much on sicknesses. My mom and stepdad said i could get a crested gecko in about a year! Soooooo excited!
A few quick questions. I'm receiving my first Crested Gecko this Saturday and I want to be sure of everything. I'm going to be feeding it only crickets with D3 powder for a week and fruits. What fruits should I use. Oranges? And do I need to put a water bowl in there? Please answer quickly. Thanks! -Bekah
@BoohsReptiles yes you need a water bowl. fruits such as bananas mangos pears kiwis (look up local candonian fruits) and be sure to blend or purie the fruit and add crested gecko diet to it or calcium
I have a couple questions when they get bigger can you put wood chips in, what do you need to feed them if you dont have a uvb and uva just crickets and can you pur them in a ttaaaaaall terra
@CrestedGeckos555 Ok cool thanks for the info. I was just unsure since they're an exotic animal, and some exotics need a license to be sold in the US. I guess the government is more worried about tiger outbreaks than harmless adorable geckos, lol.
@Bloodygeek11 They are somewhere between 15-20 gallons of room. This is so I can house 2 in there when I want to breed them. Most of the time I house them seperately in these.
@eatonman96 Yes if the gecko is a baby it can be in a critter cage. As an adult it will need a bigger cage. I bought geckos from breeders, petstores and some were rescues given to me.
I have a concern about the newspaper for substrate....isn't it dangerous for cresties to have newspaper in there- what if they eat it and get poisoned by the ink on the paper? ...
@PreciousGem891 they won't get poisoned. I've never seen them eat it but once. The gecko caught a cricket and the corner of the paper in its mouth. It was fine. Newspaper is safe for other animals too. No worries.
@Dabber422 I have a plastic rectangular container w a lid a few inches deep. I fill it half way up w hatchrite, make a dent w my finger and place the egg in the indentation. I cover w the lid and let it sit at room temperature. I check eggs once a week making sure hatchrite isn't drying out. Add a little water around eggs if it is. This also allows for air exchange when the lid is lifted. After around 60 days they hatch.

so u mean to tell me that they dont need to thermo'regulate if keep it at room temp?? im going to the ny reptile expo in july and im looking to buy a couple, id appreciate an answer
@iSNEEZEgorillaSPiT yes. They prefer temps in the 70s. As long as your house doesn't get cold you do not need additional heat. Temps should stay below 90 degrees or they can get stressed and might die.
@TheReptileWhisperer i appreciate it, didnt think you'd reply so quickly lol, i subscribed and ill have videos up on my leos soon, and in july wen i go to the expo ill make sure to take lots of pics and videos

i love babies they seem to be more curious than their adult counterparts.for my white lines in one clutch of two i have one female who just jumps right onto my hand when she knows she is coming out, and i have her brother who i spend the same time with who practically needs to be dragged out of the cage! once out they both seem to love crawling on me and any tall objects nearbye, but i just think its interesting how even offspring from the same clutch can have such different personalities :)
@DracoEntreri You are right they all have different personalities. What's really cool is some of the babies end up having the same personalities as their parents. For example my most easy going female has babies that all act just like her and are extremely friendly:)
Thx for the posting the vid. Nice vid. and i was wondering if you would sell any males? Or if you know a good way to get a nice looking one for a pretty cheap price?
None of my adult males are for sale. I only have babies and they are too young to sex right now. If I end up keeping some till they are 6 months I might have a male to sell you. Price of the gecko depends on color morph, pattern and body structure anywhere you get them. I've seen geckos priced from $50-$1,000.
@18kingen you don't need to feed them crickets all you feed them is crested gecko diet

6 months then move to a 10 gallon at least or their adult cage.

i love babies they seem to be more curious than their adult counterparts.for my white lines in one clutch of two i have one female who just jumps right onto my hand when she knows she is coming out, and i have her brother who i spend the same time with who practically needs to be dragged out of the cage! once out they both seem to love crawling on me and any tall objects nearbye, but i just think its interesting how even offspring from the same clutch can have such different personalities :)
