  • i can never see my gecko eating the CGD and it looks like he never touches it when i put it in his cage, should i just hand feed it to him? but he poops when i do anything thing that can help that?

  • can i house a crested gecko in all glass aqarium with a screen lid? please someone respond

  • @halofan654 yes you can, thats what I do with mine

  • where do you buy all of your crested gecko lizards and supplies?

  • @Amontking1 I bought mine from a local pet store-- but I'd only do that if you think ALL of the geckos in the cage look healthy. l'd recommend looking for crested gecko breeders. I buy my plastic foliage from local places, I'm sure they'll have something you'll like. I personally buy the crested gecko diet from Pangea Reptile, they have it the cheapest I've found.

  • This video helped alot, I just bought one but she hasn't arrived yet. My white lined gecko is alot hared to care for than a crestie. but I still love him :)

  • Geckos <3

  • watch my vid i need help

  • all of ur geckos probably died by now because they do need UBB. and u should use a tall not a long. they like to climb,DID U NO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :>

  • do you keep all of your hatchlings?

  • Are there any sicknesses that i should watch out for? Or what to do if they are sick? I know of MBD but i cant find much on sicknesses. My mom and stepdad said i could get a crested gecko in about a year! Soooooo excited!

  • me 2 but i want a dead one :D

  • @BolatBoy Crested Gecko Diet(CGD) can be bought at petstores or online. Price depends where you buy from and how much you are buying.

  • @TheReptileWhisperer Look on ebay for Repashy(this is the CGD) or yes it can be found in most good pet stores.

  • OHH MY GOSH>> you should give me a free gecko, that would be AWSOME>>>

  • Do you sell cresteds?

  • Can u just feed them the CGD with the powder mixes in, or do crickets need to be part of there diet too?

  • @FrogzzLuveerrr They can eat CGD and not need any other food. It has everything they need

  • A few quick questions. I'm receiving my first Crested Gecko this Saturday and I want to be sure of everything. I'm going to be feeding it only crickets with D3 powder for a week and fruits. What fruits should I use. Oranges? And do I need to put a water bowl in there? Please answer quickly. Thanks! -Bekah

  • @BoohsReptiles yes you need a water bowl. fruits such as bananas mangos pears kiwis (look up local candonian fruits) and be sure to blend or purie the fruit and add crested gecko diet to it or calcium

  • at 7:08 i about pooped cuz it was so funny!!!!!

  • @johanbipbop y???

  • are they okay in the dark or do they need light

  • I have a couple questions when they get bigger can you put wood chips in, what do you need to feed them if you dont have a uvb and uva just crickets and can you pur them in a ttaaaaaall terra

  • @daltonawsome when they are adults use can use ecoearth. I wouldnt use woodchips. Dust crickets with calcium plus D3 powder.

  • My house is about 68 degrees year round is that ok

  • @toblsrone umm you should try to get the tank temp aroung 72-75 thats the preferred temp

  • How much do crested geckos cost and are they at all aquatic because I saw a guy with one in a fish tank I think

  • hi.... does the crested gecko diet supplement have the calcium d-3 in it or do u have to buy it seperately??

  • im looking at crested gecko's, my budget is 100$ and that includes the lizard. any help?

  • @CrestedGeckos555 Ok cool thanks for the info. I was just unsure since they're an exotic animal, and some exotics need a license to be sold in the US. I guess the government is more worried about tiger outbreaks than harmless adorable geckos, lol.

  • i watched this vid 43854683659505040000 times and i learn aloooottttt! every time! thxs for the vid!!

  • little ghost girl off to the left at 0:02-0:18

  • i subed you

  • Can you relate this care for a Tokay Gecko? Sorry I'm new at this lol Thanks =)

  • I just now got my crestie yesterday, but it only eats the CGD for about 10 seconds. Is that normal?

  • cant wait my baby crestie to get big hope its a boy so it can be a fatty

  • do u have to incubate the eggs at all

  • @WiCkEdPRODUCTIONZZ i was wondering the same thing, about if you have to incubate the eggs

  • what do you do with all the babies? do you sell them to local shops? and if so, do you need some sort of license to do so?

  • @TheReptileWhisperer Can I keep one adult crested gecko in a 9in by 15in by 18in tank?

  • "look at the tail on that guy" HE-HE

  • could you keep more than one adult in a cage

  • @arachnoherp15 yes you can but not two males !

  • @GeckoMan80 yes they are for adults. They like all the room in there.

  • @GeckoMan80 yes they seem to like it & yes they climb in the leaves.

  • Where do u buy the leaves?

  • @MissH1231 I buy 10 ft rolls of vine at walmart, they have the cheapest prices

  • @TheReptileWhisperer

Is there a rule of thumb on how big your geckos tubs should be??

    thanks

  • @Bloodygeek11 They are somewhere between 15-20 gallons of room. This is so I can house 2 in there when I want to breed them. Most of the time I house them seperately in these.

  • Can you make a video that shows your crested geckos morphs

  • @GeckoMan80 A 10 gallon for one but Id go a little bigger.

  • So you can have a critter cage and also where did you buy your crested geckos?

  • @eatonman96 Yes if the gecko is a baby it can be in a critter cage. As an adult it will need a bigger cage. I bought geckos from breeders, petstores and some were rescues given to me.

  • I know you can feed them bananas, papyas, and apricots, but do you know any other fruits (or veggies) that may diverse their diet?

  • How big are your bins? They can live in one for the rest of their lives right?

  • I have a concern about the newspaper for substrate....isn't it dangerous for cresties to have newspaper in there- what if they eat it and get poisoned by the ink on the paper? ...

  • @PreciousGem891 they won't get poisoned. I've never seen them eat it but once. The gecko caught a cricket and the corner of the paper in its mouth. It was fine. Newspaper is safe for other animals too. No worries.

  • good vid but is it very safe to stack them up like that

  • @MrJohnyboyboy I would get a ceramic heat emitter. Just a small one, no more than 60watts

  • how are you incubating your crested gecko eggs? Thanks

  • @Dabber422 I have a plastic rectangular container w a lid a few inches deep. I fill it half way up w hatchrite, make a dent w my finger and place the egg in the indentation. I cover w the lid and let it sit at room temperature. I check eggs once a week making sure hatchrite isn't drying out. Add a little water around eggs if it is. This also allows for air exchange when the lid is lifted. After around 60 days they hatch.

  • great vid

  • so u mean to tell me that they dont need to thermo'regulate if keep it at room temp?? im going to the ny reptile expo in july and im looking to buy a couple, id appreciate an answer

  • @iSNEEZEgorillaSPiT yes. They prefer temps in the 70s. As long as your house doesn't get cold you do not need additional heat. Temps should stay below 90 degrees or they can get stressed and might die.

  • @TheReptileWhisperer i appreciate it, didnt think you'd reply so quickly lol, i subscribed and ill have videos up on my leos soon, and in july wen i go to the expo ill make sure to take lots of pics and videos

  • Do you ship to the uk?

  • Very informative video. Clearly identifies the basic requirements for crested gecko's, personally I prefer to use slightly larger all glass set ups but your method is a great space saver! And I would imagine vastly cheaper.

Have you tried using eco-earth type substrates for the nest boxes? We use it and have had terrific success.

Enjoyed the video and its certainly worth a watch, thanks ;)

  • how much would you sell one for

  • how much would you sell one for

  • i was wondering, do you think i might be able to buy a newborn crested gecko from you?

  • @jakurz57 yes, pm me

  • @TheReptileWhisperer how much would you sell one for

  • where exactly can i find those vines you use... i just got a crested gecko that is about 3 months old and about 3 inches when it gets bigger i want use a bin like you do but i want to know where to find the vines... also could i put my gecko in a bin now or jus keep it in the 5.5 gallon tank i have for now?

  • hello. i am only 16 years old and just started getting into reptiles. i bought a leopard gecko a month ago and i really love it :) now i want to get a crested gecko but i was not sure about the lighting and enclosure. now all the questions that stopped me from getting one are clear :) thank you for you helping :)

  • Do you feed them crickets ever?

  • Hey Would a 2 foot wide,1 foot long and 2 foot high work for a crested gecko?

  • how many Qt. are those bins you have the adults in? and where did you buy them from?

  • i loved your videa you get to the point and dont fool around! yours is the best that i have seen so far!

  • hey love your vid i was wondering i got a baby crested gecko and i put him diet in and i no he must be eating but it disnt look like it is that how urs our?

  • my crestie is about 4-6 months old, and i'm worried he isn't as big as he should be for his age. what size (how long, in inches) do you think he should be? and if he's too small, why is this and how can i help him?

  • i just got a crested gecko, i named him nutmeg

  • i want a crested gecko !!

  • sorry did u say 60 or 16

  • Hey I just bought my crested geckos but the previous owner fed them yogurt. Can you tell me how to get them to start eating cgd and crickets.?

  • Do u sell ur babies? Cause if u r I'll be willing to buy one

  • Can you do a vid of ur adults.

  • wud u perfer a leopard gecko or a crested gecko because i realy want one and i cannot deside which 1 to get

  • i love cupcake

  • What about a lamp with a regular light bulb?

  • Can you show us a video with the flashlight in a dark room on the eggs so we can see inside?

  • Like which gecko needs more care? Crested gecko or a leopard gecko?

  • why do you stack the babies like that? i would be terrified that they'd fall over..

  • I went to petsmart and the guy there said that you do need light!!

  • @animalgirl2010 Petsmart is uneducated when it comes to reptiles. Nocturnal geckos do not need a UV light if you supplement calcium w D3. They do not need a heat light either unless your house gets really cold in the winter. They like temps in the 70's.

  • @TheReptileWhisperer okay thank you

  • @TheReptileWhisperer lol yeah thats way way to true.. Petsmart sucks.. I asked them questions and they dont know what thr talking about

  • This is why places like pet smart are such a big problem with pets... reptiles are not like a stereo at Wal-mart, we need educated reptile and pet dealers; not shit head 16 y/o kids with no clue what the animals need and only care if they eat live rats.

  • do baby crested geckos that come from the same parents have the same morph?????

  • @crestedgeckoboy123 Not always

  • that little girl scared the carp out of me.

  • Very Helpful Video. Just a Quick Question though; Are their Pads on the Bottom of their Feet Very Sticky, or Just a Little bit? I Plan on getting one soon.

  • @StevieAndLife They arent sticky like gum or anything. They stick by using tiny rows of hairs under each toe on their toe pads.

  • how often do crested geckos drop their tails??????????????

  • the little girl is like who are you talking too???

  • Awesome geckos!!!!!!!

  • what kind of morphs do you have?

  • @heyitsthewardz All colors, mostly harley and flames. 1 bicolor and 1 solid patternless. A few have dalmation spots, red and black.

  • This is probably the best crested gecko care vid on youtube! Great video and very informational

  • @Trazor2k0 Thanks!

  • @TheReptileWhisperer no thanks for puting this vid up! lol i was wondering if you recommend hatchrite the best for crested gecko egg incubation

  • @Trazor2k0 Yes I love hatchrite because its ready to be used when you need it.

  • did they come out?

  • may not be abell to anser but can house geckos baby be on dirt or bark???

  • @thekingofdragons101 I wouldn't do it. Just use paper towel until they are adults.

  • i live in england and in the winter it can reach -4 degrees will i need a head mat ?

  • @reptilemad43 Yes they should have a heat source if temps drop below 60 degrees.

  • @reptilemad43 yeah lol i live in the uk aswell it was too cold last winter

  • um do i have to clean all the stuff before i put it in the enclosure (like pllants). and how often should i clean the tank out?

  • @Hedgehogs24 Yes you should rinse everything off in warm soapy water. Rinse it really well so there is no soap residue left.

  • @Hedgehogs24 Clean the tank once a week and spot clean poop when you see it.

  • Hello. I have a question that I hope you can answer. I live in Maine, and it gets fairly hot and cold during the summer and winter. How can I keep a crested gecko at the correct temp. during the summer? During the winter? Please help me! Give suggestions that might help me with the summer and winter!

  • @Hedgehogs24 In the summer get an air conditioner/fan if the room gets over 80 degrees during the day. They can tolerate 85 degrees but not for long and if they stay at those temps they will die. In the winter you can get a heat lamp and put it above the cage. Just use a 60 watt bulb because you don't want it to get too hot.

  • for misting could i use purified water from my fridge?

  • @Hedgehogs24 Yes:)

  • I breed for fun of course:) There is not much money in breeding unless you are a large scale breeder with hundereds of breeding reptiles. The money I get goes right back into my reptiles and helps pay for the rescued one's vet bills.

  • I have 2 female cresties and when we got heat they seemed to be more active and eat wayyyy more but when my light broke and we keeping forgeting to get a new light and now they eat less and are less active what do i do i do about this?

  • What are the temps in their cage? If they are in the 70's the temps are perfect and there might be another reason they are not active and eating as much.

  • yep there is in the 70's there 75 and they both are the same age but ones a lot bigger then the ather is there a reason for this?

  • The reason is food aggression. The one that is bigger is more dominant and eats more before the other one can get as much. I would put two feeding dishes in the cage, one at each end so they can eat at the same time. if you are feeding insects as well I would feed the insects seperately so you know the smaller one is getting enough.

  • caould i keep adults in those tubes? wat qt are they?

  • Yes, those bins are about the size of a 15-20 gallon tank. They are sterlite tubs(I dont remember how many qts they are) I drilled holes in for ventilation. I put one gecko in each tub so they each have their own cage.

  • how long could i keep a crestie in a large critter keeper for 5/5

  • 6 months then move to a 10 gallon at least or their adult cage.

  • i love babies they seem to be more curious than their adult counterparts.for my white lines in one clutch of two i have one female who just jumps right onto my hand when she knows she is coming out, and i have her brother who i spend the same time with who practically needs to be dragged out of the cage! once out they both seem to love crawling on me and any tall objects nearbye, but i just think its interesting how even offspring from the same clutch can have such different personalities :)

  • @DracoEntreri You are right they all have different personalities. What's really cool is some of the babies end up having the same personalities as their parents. For example my most easy going female has babies that all act just like her and are extremely friendly:)

  • can u just feed your cresties mrp and not crickets or do u need both ???

  • Your welcome!

  • Any petstore that sells reptile supplies.

  • i love this video (and all your others of course) it was very informative and it's going to make my life a lot easier

  • Thanks! I'm happy I could help you:)

  • it's good thing i watched this video cause last night i got a little baby crested gecko. didn't intend to, but that's how it always is :D

  • Aww babies are so cute!

  • Thanks! They are probably the easiest reptile to care for IMO:)

  • good info, i have a male hes for sale if youd liek to take a look hes on my page

  • Thx for the posting the vid. Nice vid. and i was wondering if you would sell any males? Or if you know a good way to get a nice looking one for a pretty cheap price?

  • None of my adult males are for sale. I only have babies and they are too young to sex right now. If I end up keeping some till they are 6 months I might have a male to sell you. Price of the gecko depends on color morph, pattern and body structure anywhere you get them. I've seen geckos priced from $50-$1,000.

  • Thanks!
