Nice video, however dissapointed with the consist. Have ridden on the Coast Starlight, L.A./Seattle round trip 6 times in 8 years. The typical consist behind the baggage cars is 2 or 3 sleepers, dining car, observation car and 3 or 4 coach cars. The smoker cars is at the end. Newer consists have two observation cars. One before the diner and the other after the dine.

I like the long and funny consist at the end. I wish there was an HO scale model railroad club local to me. I also would like that fancy DCC stuff. Anyway, sweet vid! 5***** from me. :-)

Nice video! For the Coast Starlight modeled in this era, I would try to add the Parlor Car to make it more of a complete model. I would also try to add the MHCs as well.

Mna I love it!!!! You and I have the same taste in trains too. LOL!! My favorite is the Amtraks in phase 3, I love the Coast Starlight (and have one of my own as well), and the Surfliner! That's awesome!

thanks!, that and the other p42 in my other vid were the ones i was talking about working on. the one you see heer just came in the mail a few weeks ago, but i still need to configure the decoder to work with the ditch lights i have installed. And tell me about it, i think that phase 3 shows off the true classic colors of amtrak!, and thanks again, grant

Couldn't agree more buddy! Phase 3 is just the most balance, classic, and patriotic paint scheme that Amtrak ever had. Don't get me wrong, I like the phase IVb with the Shamoo P42's, but 3 is still my favorite. I was never a fan of any of the other phases.

That's cool that you've done all this work to these trains on your own. Does this guy have a sound decoder in it, or did you add sounds to the vid?

all of my amtrak locos are equipped with sound, cant live wthout it, i can agree with you because i will be purchasing a phase lVb dash 8 bhw #503 when they come out in june.
