  • What GPU are you using?

  • @LessthanJake14 nVidia GTX 260

  • @richardsim7 Damn, was wondering if someone has Snow Leopard on a 5870 system yet. =(

  • you cant compare pc to a mac pro.., thats a server machine, you may compare the server/desktop from dell if you want, but any server would still be more powerful than a single core i7 build.

you can take the new imac +a led monitor for a right comparison, at last the spec there are very similar..overall "apple hardware" doesnt exist, is all about design and EFI more than tha a mac is a pc, use intel cpu and ati/nvidia gpu also standard ddr3 and hdd, with right mobo, you can use osx without issue

  • @crushrfx i7 920 CPU, Gigabyte EX-58 UD5 Mobo, 6GB Ram etc. Everything works perfectly :)

  • whats the point in haveing a max OS installed on ur pc...better of whats the point of haveing a mac?!?!

  • Because it's better than using Windows. I don't necessarily have a problem with Windows, v7 is fantastic, but I just prefer OS X :)

  • @richardsim7 then, buy a real Mac?

  • @wojciech94 Because this machine is ridiculously powerful, runs perfectly and cost a third of the price a real Mac Pro would have cost me?

  • @richardsim7 well it might but it runs best on Apple hardware. That's where you get the true UNIX experience.

  • @heavenofficial You've lost me, this machine runs like wildfire, using very similar hardware to that which Apple uses, how can it be not as fast? :p

  • @richardsim7 Well I'm not speaking entirely to you I mean in general it runs best on 100% Apple hardware. That's a great thing if you can get it to run like yours, most people can't. Also, how did you get it on there? Was it from the Mac CD or torrent?

  • @heavenofficial True true. It was a retail install, yeah :)

  • @heavenofficial

    Apple hardware?

  • @heavenofficial Not true heaven, I know a few fags(they don't care about mac or pc title) that O/C their shit and bump the most extreme scores on the benchmarks for osx, and If you check anysite that has mac benchmarks, a hackintosh is first place. But those guys don't have anything better to do with their lives but eat, sleep and breath tech shit.... people like us on the other hand have other things to do...

  • Because if you want to use Mac OSX on a custom built system (What would be cheaper and like x20 better than any Mac PCs) and would like to kick ass in Mac OSX speed well yeh...

Windows sadly has back ground programs what slows down Windows a heck of aload so if you're a video editor like me Mac OSX is the way to go...

TBH Windows 7 For life though :)

I haven't even used a Mac yet or Mac OSX but I will once I get my new laptop with an Intel i7 CPU :D

  • this isnt os x , its on a pc skinned to look like os x - look at the dock

  • Nope, it's the real deal, 10.6.1 Snow Leopard

I changed the dock because I don't like the default one. Want proof? Tell me how :)

  • you have no idea about hackintosh??you noob!!? its real Mac OSX! running on PC

  • Yeahhh, that's what I thought ;)

  • @Daniel7637 Have you even heard about Hackintosh or OSX86? It's a project to get OS X on PCs meant to run Windows. He used OSX86 to get Snow Leopard on his PC then simply customized the dock.

  • You geek you :)

you must show them all how fast the Sims 3 is.

    Ahh, love. x

  • how the hell?

    i have i7 920. 6gb ddr3 and ATI 4850

i cant do that. i cant even install.

    please make a guide

  • What motherboard have you got?

  • Dell 0X501H intel X58.

    Version A13

  • Hmm, I used a Gigabyte EX-58. Check out the insanelymac forums, they should be able to help you
