I shelterd through Hurricane Alison along the shore of Matagorda TX in crazy high winds and the only poles that didn't break were on my Marmot 4 season/2 pole/2person. I forget the make but either way, poles are key. High water is a big prob. Be safe!
@webtogs Lord willing, I plan to camp down at the Airey Lake Recreation Area in the Desoto National Forest, just north of Gulfport Mississppi. My hope is to take a direct hit by a hurricane.
The best tent for hurricanes would be a brooks range rocket tent or a warmlite. Won't be silent though and if there is any debry in the air you may be skewered.
Is the tent in this video the 2 or 3 person version?

@labradiesel Marmot make great tents as well, but if I had a choice I would definitely be in the Alti come hurricane time.

No kidding I plan to do some hurricane camping. I presently own a Coleman Exponent Phact X3 Tent I purchased from a retailer in the UK.
Nice tent though you are featuring on this video.

@ministercreek This will definitely stand up better than the X3, hurricane camping sounds a little intense though - where do you plan to camp?!

@ministercreek I'm not sure any tent would be good for Hurricane camping - saying that though, this would cope better than most :)
