I love the way Americans use Yiddish. Is that a thing from the East Coast? Or is it really part of American English? Yiddish words aren't as prominent in the European languages (at least in the languages that I speak, i.e., Dutch, English, French, and German) as in America. Anyone knows why?
I am not sure whether that's true. Jews suffered a lot in Europe. But they have also been part of more tolerant communities since the 17th century where that was not the case. Spinoza for example was never persecuted in Amsterdam. Also there was a lot of anti-Semitism in the US before and during WW2. Not as bad as in Europe, but if you read Arthur Miller's book 'Focus' you'll get the idea.
Who are you to discuss being "ignorant, ethnocentric, xenophobic and silly" when in the same paragraph you insult an entire country, their wildlife, and their beverage production in an anti-Canadian rant?
Some people's blatant hypocrisy is hilarious. Yours is just sad.
That ad insulted anyone in Minnesota who would ever think an average person could hold political office. Even these average Joes are "just as qualified as Al Franken." That totally exposes that Norm Coleman thinks he is better than average Minnesotans.
Al wrote porn?!! C'mon he wrote an article for Playboy. Everybody not sexually repressed knows that Playboy is the Cinemax of skin mags. If Playboy puts you off, then you should consider becoming a Moonie. And by that logic, Chevy advertises in Playboy. So the 2009 Camaro counts as porn? Wow. That means Bumblebee from Transformers is a porn stud . . . just like John Holmes. And Sharper Image showcases gadgets in Playboy now and then. So now my new remote doubles as an adult toy.
"You, the voters of Minnesota are retards. You are unqualified to be a senator. Al Franken is just like you. So don't vote for yourself you fucktards. Vote for me."
The bowler in the middle looks like a real pencil necked dork. This ad is terrible. And the other bowlers making those faces look absurd. If anything, Al's playboy article would appeal to those guys. Why does the guy say "We've decided that we're running for US senate?" Those 3 guys can't all run. Shouldn't he just have said "I am running for senate?" This commercial just makes no sense.
Hey, don't slam the beer!!! But, having been to Minnesota hundreds of times, I have to agree that the vast majority of people there are pretty alright.
I just find it amazing that Al Franken winning isn't enough for you. Now you want to see him in jail, too?? Sad....
That's all I have to now. But, while I AM able to rise above and congratulate your guy Al, I fear he'll be giving his critics more good fodder soon enough....
I'll ignore your "to the man" attack and focus on whether I "fear" or "hope" that Al provides fodder for his critics.
It's like Obama....truth be told I "fear" that both are going to find they are in over their head. In BOTH cases their opponent was VASTLY more experienced and VASTLY more qualified. Voters went with Al and Barrack because they bought into the "change" battle cry. But change into what?
As for "hoping" for their failure...no. For ALL our sakes I hope they prove me wrong.

Coleman won... it's so obvious! He was leading w/ over 200 votes, & after the 4,000 other absente ballots were counted... Franken camp was counting ballots for their guy that had Coleman marked, & added things like"stein" added to Franken's name... come on! as an unbiased observer, anyone could see that Senator Coleman won this election... seriously, Franken was awarded winning 25 precincts that had more votes counted for him that their even were voters!!! Something's going on & isn't right
NYerintransit... stay in New York. Whiners, those Coleman folks are. Be a ma., Al won! Sure, Coleman needs another job, and is now using lawyers to try to keep his post. Give it up Norm. You lost. Go back to the private sector as a High School Councelor, you twit. The DEMS are finally in control, to clean up the steaming pile, the GOP left for the next Prez.

I was just watching this video again and up pops an ad in this video sponsored by the RNC to support the recount in Minnesota. The RNC!!! How bizarre is that?
Since when have bowlers been thrilled to pay their taxes, pay for other people's insurance, refraining from foul-mouthed attacks on those with whom they disagree, and so against "juicy porn?" They definitely sound like they are reading from a script.
It's like the Ayers connection. McCain was pushing an anti-government mantra (Washington is broken) and we should take action to a bunch of people who, if Obama is elected, will be the next generation of Bill Ayers.
I live in Minnesota and I'm disgusted by Norm Coleman and his attack adds. "He brought hockey back" anybody remember that ad! JOKE! Norm's a rat. Qualifications? Shameless! Norm Coleman HAS NO RIGHT TO STAND ON THE FLOOR OF THE U.S. SENATE!!
Al Franken has NOT lived in Minnesota and could care less about us;
He is a carpet-bagger comedian with NO experience and expects to BUY Minnesota spending over $15 million. I'm sorry, but Minnesota deserves better. Our economy is strong & pro-business here and my family business is doing fairly well now w/ the way things are & I won't vote for a ridiculous SNL joker to look out for me in DC because with Franken, Minnesota won't get shit from Congress.
2 years?! LoL Oh. Okay. Hint: Franken graduated from Blake High School. Did his first comedy gig at Dudley Riggs here in the TC with his bud from HS, Tom Blake. Check this video in your youtube search bar: watch?v=AQp0yydPnCk Check out the jackets that Al and his son are wearing over their baseball uniforms. Kinda' cute. Do you know the man of which you bitch? Be not afraid of him winning. He aint' all bad.
I think you're confused. He's not a joke, he WRITES jokes. I believe it's you who is uninformed. Franken, a Harvard graduate 1973 cum laude, has been a most creative voice in political commentary, satire, and thought for decades. But it's not just humor. There is solid philosophy at the base of his assertions. His books plainly demonstrate that.
If I lived in Minnesota, I'd vote for Franken. If you want to talk about jokes, Norm Coleman comes to mind. It's just not very funny.

I understand he was a comedian and told jokes. But him being the sentaor of this state is also a joke!
Oh yeah, read his book that is obviously bias, only including the good things he does. So he sounds like a great guy.
Norm Coleman has done a fine job. I've heard some democrats that voted for Obama, who said they voted for Coleman, because they said he has done a good job (even though they prefer more liberal-minded people). And he is very much a people person.
I thought Franken wasn't funny either... When I was THREE. He's actually hilarious. It's just over your head. Maybe the three stooges would be more your speed. Or a sporting event. Yeah... you should just go watch a ball game.
What is wrong with making the Bush economy permanent? You are all acting like victims. If it was not for the fundamentals, we will be in recession right now. Get a clue!
Oh, iamwatchingus... Aren't you missing an episode of the Rush Limbaugh show? Hurry! It's on! Run! Go slurp up the pap! Misinformation and distortion... that's the flavor dittoheads love.
It's OK. I'm sure Rush can't forget them. He might want to add something else to his daily regimen. He's going to need something extra to soothe the sting of defeat and the dashed hopes of the Fourth Reich.
Wow, that's one of the dumbest ads by a politician I've ever seen. Coleman must be a regular guy, eh, yet he wouldn't be caught dead in a regular folks' place unless fishing for manipulated votes. What a schmuck. I love how Al Franken takes the fight to these Republican crooks like Coleman.
Norm Coleman has a history of working hard for Minnesota and the USA and upholding the good values of our parents and grand parents! We are so proud of him!
franken and coleman are in court over uncounted votes dumb ass, plus you really want a stupid comedian in senate, and have ever even been to MN not all of us minnesotans are stupid like you. ( one that is stupid though is the governor Tim Palenty)
You're on a losing streak, don't bet the races or buy a lottery ticket. Say hello to Senator Franken for me the next time he's in your neck of the woods. Or visit Coleman in prison if your so inclined..
Im from Minnesota and I would rather vote Charles Manson in than Coleman again. Republicans in general suck. Not that Democrats are much better but John Mccain and Norm both suck.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
you miss the point, turk. the guys in the ad aren't opposing the things that franken has done, they're just saying they do them too so it seems they're qualified to run.
franken will have to clean up his behavior if he plans to last very long in the senate. it's time to grow up when you play in the big leagues.
Coleman was a rabid anti-war leader of the Students for a Democratic Society when at Hofstra U. When he found that the GOP pays better he morphed into a rabidly pro-war Republican. One wonders if he has any values of his own, other than power and profit. Kick him to the curb MN.
The best candidates are actually in the Independence Party this time. Get rid of the do nothing folks and elect some leaders to govern us for a huge change!
Huh? Minnesotans would have to be extremely stupid to elect Norm Coleman, again. Coleman is a Bush-bot and has no desire to do anything that his republic party masters don't approve of. He tows the republic party line every day and has nothing to offer 99% of the people that he represents.
I totally agree. I live in Minnesota and have had to watch these ads constantly and it makes me barf a little in my mouth. Honestly. I haven't heard anything about Norm Coleman's actual issues, and now I realize why. Because his stance on the issues is horrible for Minnesotans... except for the ones that make $1 mil plus
The fact that Al Franken has no qualifications for U.S. Senate is a valid issue. It is also a valid issue that he doesn't pay his taxes. As an aside, Al Franken is also afraid of free speech (like Obama). Try to post something critical on his video, and you will get a "Comment Pending Approval" notice and then it will never appear.
Because He comes from a predominately Republican District. There are 2 Minnesotas, the liberal cities and the conservative small towns. and basically the Senate districts are divided along those lines.
I agree, that ad is bullshit and Norm Coleman hasn't done a thing to actually prove he's going to help the state with it's problems. Because he hasn't at all the last few years he's been senator.
I live in Minneapolis, and I'm behind Franken 100%.
I mean, were the logic portrayed here accurate (which it isn't, but lets pay along), isn't Coleman saying that the average Minnesotan isn't qualified to run?
I don't legitimately understand how insulting your constituents really works.
Now are the Young Turks part of the New World Order or are they for real World Peace
I believe they are for World Peace
HBO said BayPoint School in Recount.
Barack/MCain/Clinton are shit for allowing the Bush Administration to continue covering up Israels part in the deaths of 35 teenagers at BayPoint School in Miami, Florida.
By the way Jared of Subway foods is working with Jeff Fisher on a business deal that also involves Starbucks & Bally Sports!
The scary part is that his ads are working! Although the poll numbers are quite varied, Coleman is ahead because Franken isn't getting HIS message out enough. Hopefully his campaign will tackle this crap and he'll get elected in November!
No Republicans (other than Ron Paul Supporters) are talking about the Issues. Almost every single ad put out by republicans are attack ads. They can't talk about the issues 'cause they're all on the wrong side and the majority of Americans know it.
Well the reason Ron Paul will never become President and I love him and follow him is because average citizens do not like people who speak directly about the issues they are for. They like people who are vague!
I like the guy on the right, in the commercial.

Coleman's going to go down in flames.
I thought Franken wasn't funny either... When I was THREE. He's actually hilarious. It's just over your head. Maybe the three stooges would be more your speed. Or a sporting event. Yeah... you should just go watch a ball game.
Fat? No, LIMBAUGH is FAT. Fat with bullshit.

What is wrong with making the Bush economy permanent? You are all acting like victims. If it was not for the fundamentals, we will be in recession right now. Get a clue!
iamwatchingus 3 years ago
Oh, iamwatchingus... Aren't you missing an episode of the Rush Limbaugh show? Hurry! It's on! Run! Go slurp up the pap! Misinformation and distortion... that's the flavor dittoheads love.
the0Patriot0avenges 3 years ago
You forgot the oxies...
RandallFlaggNY 3 years ago
It's OK. I'm sure Rush can't forget them. He might want to add something else to his daily regimen. He's going to need something extra to soothe the sting of defeat and the dashed hopes of the Fourth Reich.
the0Patriot0avenges 3 years ago
Rush wants McCain to lose. Rush does best when Democrats are in power. Thus he has something to complain about.
He hates it that Bush is in power and fucked it all so badly. I'm sure Rush is tired of being shrub's butt boy.

Wow, that's one of the dumbest ads by a politician I've ever seen. Coleman must be a regular guy, eh, yet he wouldn't be caught dead in a regular folks' place unless fishing for manipulated votes. What a schmuck. I love how Al Franken takes the fight to these Republican crooks like Coleman.
doinaheckuvajob 3 years ago 3
Hey, why not run for VP! I think McCain's going to have an empty spot on the ticket soon.

Norm Coleman has a history of working hard for Minnesota and the USA and upholding the good values of our parents and grand parents! We are so proud of him!

Norm Coleman is a slimy weasel. A total suck up to George Bush. I think he will lose and so should he.
jpbalkenende 3 years ago 4
Hmmm. Posting under different names, eh?
Yeah, you don't want the Harvard grad for "senoter," do you?
"Baby killer?" I guess pro-life in your world refers exclusively to fetuses, and not to human beings, especially those born in, or sent to Iraq.

you miss the point, turk. the guys in the ad aren't opposing the things that franken has done, they're just saying they do them too so it seems they're qualified to run.
franken will have to clean up his behavior if he plans to last very long in the senate. it's time to grow up when you play in the big leagues.
brothermoon 3 years ago
Coleman was a rabid anti-war leader of the Students for a Democratic Society when at Hofstra U. When he found that the GOP pays better he morphed into a rabidly pro-war Republican. One wonders if he has any values of his own, other than power and profit. Kick him to the curb MN.
SuznAz 3 years ago 3
Norm may have the worst political ad ever there.

The best candidates are actually in the Independence Party this time. Get rid of the do nothing folks and elect some leaders to govern us for a huge change!

thank yuo for saying that minnesotans are smart and they sure smart enough to vote for norm coleman
mrpoohfacebutt 3 years ago
Huh? Minnesotans would have to be extremely stupid to elect Norm Coleman, again. Coleman is a Bush-bot and has no desire to do anything that his republic party masters don't approve of. He tows the republic party line every day and has nothing to offer 99% of the people that he represents.
p12psicop 3 years ago 3
This is awesome! "Oh no! Sexist language! We don't approve." Hahah!

I totally agree. I live in Minnesota and have had to watch these ads constantly and it makes me barf a little in my mouth. Honestly. I haven't heard anything about Norm Coleman's actual issues, and now I realize why. Because his stance on the issues is horrible for Minnesotans... except for the ones that make $1 mil plus
surroundedbykites 3 years ago 2

idiots who vote for Coleman.
51516 3 years ago 2
Do you live in Coleman's district? I like how outsiders who don't know anything about our issues will make judgements.
LucasWuebben 3 years ago 2
The fact that Al Franken has no qualifications for U.S. Senate is a valid issue. It is also a valid issue that he doesn't pay his taxes. As an aside, Al Franken is also afraid of free speech (like Obama). Try to post something critical on his video, and you will get a "Comment Pending Approval" notice and then it will never appear.
AverageVoter 3 years ago
Wow Norm coleman has taken the cake on this one. How the heck did this make it to the Senate?
supablackman 3 years ago
Because He comes from a predominately Republican District. There are 2 Minnesotas, the liberal cities and the conservative small towns. and basically the Senate districts are divided along those lines.
LucasWuebben 3 years ago
senate districts? i think thats only for state senate, not us senate. i think. im pretty sure but dont call me a frickin idiot if im wrong.
tylikesmuffins 3 years ago
I live here and Norm is still up by ten percentage points in the polls. I don't get it either.
varnishyourboard 3 years ago
I agree, it's a terrible ad. My question is: Don't they test these ads on a sample group before they throw them on air?
Norm's going down this fall.
crazygolfer333 3 years ago 2
That wasn't the message in the ad.
DiverseLA 3 years ago
I agree, that ad is bullshit and Norm Coleman hasn't done a thing to actually prove he's going to help the state with it's problems. Because he hasn't at all the last few years he's been senator.
I live in Minneapolis, and I'm behind Franken 100%.

I'm from Minnesota. Norm Coleman is a sack of shit.
For some reason Coleman is clearly terrified of Franken, which is odd because he's got great odds to win.
mtf10 3 years ago 5
Shouldn't anyone be allowed to run for Senate?
I mean, were the logic portrayed here accurate (which it isn't, but lets pay along), isn't Coleman saying that the average Minnesotan isn't qualified to run?
I don't legitimately understand how insulting your constituents really works.
Franken absolutely.

Google Jeff Fisher World Peace
Now are the Young Turks part of the New World Order or are they for real World Peace
I believe they are for World Peace
HBO said BayPoint School in Recount.
Barack/MCain/Clinton are shit for allowing the Bush Administration to continue covering up Israels part in the deaths of 35 teenagers at BayPoint School in Miami, Florida.
By the way Jared of Subway foods is working with Jeff Fisher on a business deal that also involves Starbucks & Bally Sports!
ChadDavisErwin 3 years ago
The scary part is that his ads are working! Although the poll numbers are quite varied, Coleman is ahead because Franken isn't getting HIS message out enough. Hopefully his campaign will tackle this crap and he'll get elected in November!

How do they know that they are better than Al Franken at bowling?
Never Assume.
GerardMontague 3 years ago
You need to review Coleman's ad, "Al Franken Green Screen Conspiracy?". It's even worse.
coolgamer167 3 years ago
No Republicans (other than Ron Paul Supporters) are talking about the Issues. Almost every single ad put out by republicans are attack ads. They can't talk about the issues 'cause they're all on the wrong side and the majority of Americans know it.
RonPaulClips 3 years ago
Well the reason Ron Paul will never become President and I love him and follow him is because average citizens do not like people who speak directly about the issues they are for. They like people who are vague!
