Thanks for the kind words! I got a 5 x 3 bull elk during the early limited rifle elk season 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, my camera man left me high and dry and then only thing I have is a few photos! Have fun up there & be careful. I hope you get one.
Awesome Video, I love hunting on colorado and its nice to see other hunters have similar experiences as I. I will be heading up for 2nd week of limited rifle. this will be my 1st rifle hunt in 10 years (we usually bow hunt and use our points for muley's. those with deer tags hunt them and the rest hunt elk.) unfortunately most of the bulls we have seen are on private land :( but its still cool to see em out there and know we aren't on a snipe hunt lol
The world needs more men like you good sir. People like you, who truly realize the beauty and bounty god has created for us and seek to maintain that beauty are something to be valued. Great videos, and good luck hunting in the future!
we need more people like you, brother...I have gone through some rough time and as hard and devastating as they were, good Lord showed me his face through all of that. I feel his presence and love all around me and for the first time in my life I am not worried. However, life still presents its challenges such as having time to go bow hunting :)
Howdy, Brother...Thanks for the kind words and for blessing me today! To God be the glory!! I'll be heading out on an early season elk rifle hunt in two weeks here in Colorado. I have 2 elk tags for that week. I'm going mule deer buck hunting the last week of October. I hope to get some good videos this year...God willing. Are you in PA? I noticed the video on your profile. Will you be archery whiltetail hunting? Thanks for visiting and thanks for praising our awesome Lord here today!
I am actually in Floridawhere I do a ton of fishing and archery practice..nothing like what you do. I do go to PA sometimes, my girlfriend is from PA and our friends do a lot of whitetail hunting over there. I would love to live in Colorado so I can enjoy all the beauty it has to offer...are you in Denver area?
Howdy to you up in Aspen. Nice to see that's there's some hunters up there! Good luck to you if you're heading out this fall. As for me, I won't be doing archery this year....I'll be hunting the early limited elk rifle season in mid October and mule deer rifle the last week of October. Thanks for stopping by.
Im a local to Summit county my whole life. No other place beats elk hunting here. i love it. yes, summit elk are tricky and you REALLY have to watch out for the young quiet bulls. One thing though. that push call, do it slower cuz it sounds like an alarm bark. AMAZING vid though. and stay aggresive. this isnt TV they dont come to us often. if your ok with telling, where at in summit? and are you coming back for 2010 season?
I never thought of that (the hoochi mama call sounding like an alarm bark). I will definitely keep that in mind. I had a small bull bark at me a few years ago. It was crazy. Right on, lots of these youtubers watch the $10,000 paid hunts on here and think that's the way it is for everybody! It's hard work.
As for this year, we have 2 little kiddos (3 & under) and not alot of spare time so I don't think I'll be going archery. I've applied for mid-October either-sex rifle seasons for elk and a few units for mule deer buck. We'll see what happens. So, I hope to back up to Summit County in the fall. Thanks so much for stopping by and for the kind words! Talk to you soon,
Good job. It's nice to see a fellow Summit County doing it the hard way in God's country. Keep it up and please post more vids. Maybe someday we'll call each other in.
Good luck in 2010. Summit county bulls are not easy!
Thanks for stopping by, for liking the videos and for the encouragement! Summit County is great. I have taken elk 2 of the last 3 years there (struck out this year). Yes, perhaps we will call each other in some day or, at the least, help each other pack out a monster!
Neat video. Your friend did a great job. I would like to make a couple suggestions for you. When moving, wear the pack, don't drag it along. Your balance is off in that rough terrain and you aren't ready if an animal presents itself. Pratice shooting with your pack on. The last 8 elk I have shot were with a frame pack on. You need to move FAST on elk, especially when they are moving away from you. Don't worry about the noise you make since they think you are another elk. They are far from quiet.
Right on! Yes, I too have shot with my pack on. I'm not sure why I take it off from time to time!! Thanks for visiting & for watching the video. Have a great day :)
Yikes! I look and sound like somebody else? cRaZy!! Thanks so much for stopping by to watch my video(s). I hope to, God willing, post several more this fall & winter.
What season was this? And great video man.
