@Johnlindsey289 Didn't see it until I found it here. I'd seen the box art for it in many a video store in the 90's but never remembered the title or seen it.
Its so strange to me that even at an early age of 7 i could handle gore, i could not get scared...find horror movies enthralling where most my friends couldn't Yet the stupid Fletcher dummy still creeps me out lol
this movie reminds me of E.T. the closet doors, the kid, telekinesis, and the telephone that glows like ETs finger. this movies cool im watching youtubed 80s movies my vhs broke
A little but not as much as Fletcher. It's amazing how New World Pictures did some butchering on this movie and Nausicaa in 1985/1986 but glad we got the REAL versions on DVD.
My fave Emmerich movies are ID4, Stargate, this and The Patriot. I could see simlarities to Howl's Moving Castle, Totoro and Spirited Away even though this was made before them and this is a cult movie you know.
I remember watching the US version as a kid and loving it, its cool watching the German version and seeing the similarities and differances. thanks for the upload.
No problem, just add some more comments on the other videos. Do you also remember Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night? and do you think Joey is a little too old for those curtains he has? i mean, come on? Sesasme Street? he's suppose to be 9, duh.
Wow, the teacher was actually nice and sympathetic to Joey. Usually in movies like this they side with the bullies.

It's nothing like E.T. since there are no aliens. I'd say it's more like a Ghibli/Miyazaki movie brought to life.

Does anyone else think that the monkey doll is kinda creepy looking?

@Johnlindsey289 Agreed. This is my all time favorite Roland Emmerich film. And it is like a Miyazaki movie brought to life.
