  • It is great to have people responding to a video with a positive attitude and an open mind. I like the form and can imagine what hard work it was to learn, and to perform infront of other people; then to put it on the internet is even braver. Thankyou for sharing.

  • i am a student of swordplay, and just out of curiousity, what are the practical applications of yang saber in combat? for a sword technique, it seems to frequently draw in its cuts at the last second, rendering the strike ineffective. do you know where i could go to learn its applications?

  • Hi Philly Great performance and nice video, so is your cool saber. Good to see such well trained Taichi form in western world. Your master Yang June is highly regarded in Yang's Taichi family. Regarding Taichi saber you might check my video, by searching Ma Wei Huan(my master), you will see somehow different performance, more fluid and powerful.

  • Although the movements are precise, they look like dancer who is still looking at his feet to remember the moves. I can tell there are many years experience here but it lacks fluidity. And as much as the practitioner is flexible, the waist is too rigid.

  • the lower body is not 'grounded' somehow, just going through the motions, no power

  • well....a couple of things. Yang style = Peng Jing "ward off" (as opposed to Chen style which uses "twining energy" which is way more flowing). This saber form has the spirit of the tiger so to speak. I actually never lock the joints...just show the energy at the point of impact on certain moves. I learned this directly from Yang Jun, 6th generation Yang Family and if you examine his videos on here with this form I think you'll see better the 'peng jing' than in mine :) Check out Yang Jun Saber!

  • I'm just curious, I've doing yang cheng fu taiji quan for about a year and a half and with the form, there seem points when your arms lock out. It just doesn't look flowing and relaxed. Why do the arms lock out as they do? Would it not make it harder to yield in doing so? I don't know the form, but it just seems odd to me.

  • Wow! This one is great! I just did this form for the first time today!

And now i see how it COULD be i can say I LOVE this one!

Your movin' quite fast there indeed but as i just did and saw this one for the first time i cannot comment this one like i am an insider. Maby you did it faster because of the public watching you? I look forward to become better myself! Cheers mate!

  • Por si mismo el vídeo lo dice todo: impresionante el manejo de la espada.
