the problem with the clone wars is that it degrades itself to baby level entertainment. star wars doesn't need to do that, its a space adventure for all ages. i was 5-7 when i first saw the original trilogy and i loved it. and it didn't have to belittle itself to appeal to me. the characters in this show are so cartoonish and no dimensional at all, the graphics are bad overall, i hate anakins cheeks, dooku's head is so not right, ashoka is as pointless as jarjar, the original clone wars>this.
when the show first aired i hated it, i mean the animation is good and the voices are great but i just couldnt stand the rape of star wars any more. but now it is getting a lot darker and i kinda like it. its not what i want for star wars but it is not bad.

on the movie commintary they said this was going to be the first 4 esp. to the clone wars cartoon on "TV" and Lucas said he wanted it in the Cinemas so they had to work it into a movie.
@Darkinsigniosis What is wrong with it being released in cinemas????/ it help launch the series, made some nice profit, and it`s simple when it is qorth watching, which it is, you are allowed to ask money for it. We are lucky we don`t have to pay for tv, but it is luck, not normal or how it shiould be. good on television, good in cenema!!! Extremely simple. Allso they thought that the episodes formed one solid picture, and were so great they could be released in cenemas.
@Darkinsigniosis Also sometimes something which starts small, turns out biger, wh is that weird, it also happened with Toy Story 2 remember, and oh yeah this film was on perfect par with Pixar ffilmss even better, so why not. All the series episodes are that great they deserve a theatrical release!!!
I was surprised by the mediocre reviews The Clone Wars recieved by critics following the movie's release but after watching the movie myself, I feel The Clone Wars would've had a much more positive reception had it been aired as part of the new animated series rather than being used as a promotion for the show because the movie itself is an entertaining, fun ride and should've been broke into at least three half an hour epidodes.

Yeah I agree. The battle at the start was pretty cool. (Best part of film) but the story really slumped from there. The movie was really made to generate hype about the TV series that was coming out just after its theatre release.
I'm 27 years old... had lost the will to live after the Phantom Menace. Then... this baby comes along. I LOVE Clone Wars - I'm proud to be a Star Wars fan again. People who are hard on the movie have really missed the point of what Star Wars in MEANT to be.

lol i was not that interested in the movie. the starwars craze kinda died. also the jedi fights weren't as good as i hoped. the clones vs the droids were the best parts

it was good but it got boring. I thought the Anakin/Ahsoka parts were the most interesting though

This movie was okay. It would have been better suited as individual episodes from the series, but really it's biggest problems were:
Number 1: The battle droids. Their voices are atrocious and their humour is terrible save for a couple of decent lines.
Number 2: Zero the Hutt. Do I really have to explain why? Not since Jar-Jar Binks has there been a character this obnoxious.

This was a great cartoon. I stress "cartoon", not movie. I can only imagine how the meeting with Lucas would have gone:
"Hey, George, we've got this great new cartoon to show you!"
"Hmmm... that's pretty good stuff. We should put that in cinemas."
"Well, really, George, it's intended for television. We shouldn't put goldfish in the ocean."
[Lucas raises a knife]
"I said "it's going in cinemas!!!" What part of that didn't you get?"
"Sorry, George, we'll do what you want. Please don't hurt me..."
