  • Wow!

  • Ole Sleepy's doin' Joe Turner's '50s oldie "Boogie Woogie Country Girl" and suddenly the time stands still and we're all past the point of rescue! What the heck does the guy eat for breakfast? He just gets better by the minute! Even his guitar chops are smack dab right on target! Check out his old Dixie/Starday/Mercury sides (they're available on CD's from places like Rockhouse and Bear Family here in Europe) and you'll see what I mean! I'm gone, long gone...

  • @burnette44 I saw Sleepy performing in London in 1987. He played Boogie at the Wayside Lounge, which lasted about 9 mins. Only after it finished did I regain my sense of time, spatial & self-awareness. It was then that I realised what Krishnamurti meant when he said that true happiness is the merger of the observer with the observed.

Heavy ! But neither drugs nor sex can do that. Only Rock 'n' Roll. And only Rock 'n' Roll played by Sleepy !

  • @JSavic OUI UN TRES GRAND MUSICIEN.

  • @dijirockab And, presumably, with a name like La Beef, or, probably, more correctly : Laboeouf, he has French ancestry !

  • The Great Standing Rib Roast!

    Sincerely,

    The Legendary Danny O'Doul
