@telecaster24 ive seen and met joe so many times hes so loving and everyone that shows him an instrument whether its a cheap guitar or expensive his eyes light up and he just shows love for your ax
@barefoot67 joe can play country guitar hard rock, slide guitar, classical guitar and has vast knowledge of the guitar he is so multi dimensional it is scary he truelly is one of the new greats sorry but hendrix was awesome back then but you have to admit would his guitar work be the greatest today? not so much
@emanhacker The tourch is going to be handed to this white kat, no discrimination he is frigging great ...Saw him Live what a piece of work ..Love the blues..
@joeguitar70 lol i never noticed i enjoy his movement he really goes with the flow to where gary moore would look like he was boning like no tomorrow when he played
I don't really hold with this "best", "second best", "ninety-third" best business, its not who would win in a fight, Captain Kirk or Paul Kossoff (barring use of hand phasers and finger vibrato). The guy (Joe) is great and that was a stunning performance.
I love how he stops the run at 1:54. Most fast players can't end a run to save their lives, but Joe had a more stylish ending than most slow players would have.
@HughesMUFC better than Hendrix, Page, Van Halen, Gilmour, Vai etc...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! this guy's very one dimensional, he does that really well but he's not a super talent like the previously mentioned guys
@Barefoot67 Have you ever seen him live? He is the least one dimensional guitarist i have ever seen live, you don't know what your talking about. the range of styles in that one fantastic evening of my life was phenomenal, and it was the best gig i have ever been to. I agree with him, best guitarist in the world. period.
@Barefoot67 i agree hes not best ever. but he is deffinetly up there with those legends. personally i think no one can really touch Hendrix cuz of how he played it something anyone else can come close to. but with out a doubt Joe Bonamasa is one of if not best current guitarist whos still alive and making albums and going on tours
@howitzer551 you got to give extra points for recording an album a year, distributing it yourself, booking your own world tours and not getting really any air play. With all those other factors he's not only a legend but a real modern day "blues man". Check out the article in Classic Rock Magazine. He built his career with his own two hands. That's pretty impressive.
95% of teens these days listen to the same formulaic, crappy pop over and over again. If you′re one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy and paste it to at least five videos. Don′t let the spirit of rock and roll die
It's VAI, not VIA. Steve Vai. Look it up here on YT. And comparing Bonamassa and Vai is ridiculous - it's apples and oranges. If you like blues, Joe's great. If you like shred/hard rock, Vai's great. To each his own.
you dont know who Via is? Then YOU are not very intelligent at ALL! This guy is LAME! same ol" twelve bar blues shit over and over...no talent to do that". When this guy reaches the Legendary status that of Randy Rhoads", you give me a hollar"! then you can Brag and Bolster!..
I overheard a lady at work telling another lady about this guy playing at fest or something here in Minneapolis/St,Paul...Saying"OMGosh"...he is supposed to be the best guitarist in the world". I was again struck by how unintelligent people are(women?)..I didnt know this guy was better than Randy Rhoads-Eddie V Halen-Ygnvie-Via-etc...? Guess I better learn how to 12 bar Blues Shuffle!
Well, since Randy Rhoads is still dead, I think it's fair to say HE is not "the best guitarist in the world". And I don't know who "Via" is. For myself, I am struck by how unintelligent YOU are.
Joes lost alot of weight since the early days, He's cleaned up his appearance, hes a true class act now, and dont get me started on his playing, I think Joe is about the best player I've seen in 30 years. Surpassed SRV, Clapton, Johnson, you name it.
@5H4V3D89 as a musician/song writer i prefer stevie too, but as a guitarist, its Joe all the way. If you put out a few "more commercial" songs he would be a household name world wide...
@MrBramDorper Bonamassa is good, reminds me of Gary Moore. I'm talking about "electric blues". SRV was technically better than Rory, Jimi was more experimental and psychedelic. I'm talking about blues "feel"; Rory, Peter Greene, Duane Allman, Albert Collins, Johnny Winter in his prime. Still think Peter Greene may have been the best ever, before his burn out. Everyone who likes this genre has their own opinion.
@MrBramDorper We'll have to agree to disagree here. Rory was the true virtuoso. He was one of the finest slider players who ever lived. I never saw SRV or Bonomassa play slide. Rory was also excellent on acoustic guitar, finger picking, steel body guitar, he could also play saxophone. Check out his "live in Cologne" concert from 1976, on the Rockpalast DVD. That gives a true indication of his enormous talent. I only see Peter Green close to Rory as far as electric blues, and Derek Trucks
Dude Joe Bonomassa's a beast when it comes to slide guitar and he's amazing at acoustic guitar too. U really have to see Joe play his stuff, he was at least as good- if not better than Rory technically- when he reached his late teens and early 20's. I think now he's probably better technically than Gary Moore and Eric Johnson. Technically speaking Joe is probably the best blues guitarist since Hendrix died.
@jlopez47 Fast playing can't have emotion? Ever been angry and all you could do is pitch a fit, yell or run? Well, if a woman had done you this way and you had to play it out, you'd probably play fast too. lol
@CarNut1972 haha, yeah. I never said anything about playing fast. I guess when I think of something as "shred" I think of systematic, mathematical and well-studied. I like Mr. Bonamassa, but I always tend to hear more shred then old school blues in his music.
Joe is Joe Badd, but I gotta tell ya he so reminds me of my favorite guitar player of all time, Stevie Ray Vaughan. I ain't been so obsessed with a guitar since Stevie Ray.
@LedZeppelinisgod100 I had a top rated comment with 262 likes. it was the best month of my life. but all the fans, stardom, drugs, and women got to me, so i had to tone down the funniness
He should have won!!! However, he cannot play with 2 slides or take Robben Ford's licks from Talk to Your Daughter, so alas, he must go without the crown :)
@chubbymosher700 No, you get points for not listing them and then getting in arguments with everyone who has a different opinion. So you're totally ok.
this guy makes any guitar he plays look like the nicest playing guitar in the universe. its the devils work and they should enforce some kind of preventative measures, such as disclaimers and safety warning signs.
