  • Ah! I LOVED this series of Wind and the Willows! I grew up with this! This episode I enjoyed the most. I found it interesting how an 'outsider' and 'observer' managed to turn the weasels from petty thugs to dangerous criminals. The late Charles Gray played villians so well as Blofeld in James Bond and as the "White Weasel" here. It goes to show how dangerous thugs can be when they are led by someone who KNOWS what they are doing!

  • omg white weasel is terrifying

  • Charles Gray (R.I.P.) who played Mycroft in the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes series, provides the great voice for the 'Weasel of Evil.' Is it just me, or did Cosgrove Hall sculpt his character to look like him a bit?

  • the winter episode was called the rescue. When one of the local boys gone missing. Rat and mole found him with the weasles who found him first. Toad, all geared up for his winter adventure, found him the 3rd time. fun times. :)

  • The music that plays when they steal his car reminds me of the music from Metropolis.

  • That pale, scary new weasel reminds me of some Universal Horror character from the '30s - like Bela Lugosi & Boris Karloff meets the Weasels :P

  • Since when was "Henchman" a name? xD

And by the way, didn't in one winter episode some youngster call the Chief and his assistant "Uncle Bill" and "Uncle Bert"?

It was the only episode where any proper names were mentioned (except for Billy and Portly).

    Someone got any idea??? oO

  • "Since when was 'Henchman' a name?" - Yes, I thought the same thing lol! And you're right, it was in Season 2's "The Rescue" that the Cheif's actual name was mentioned. :D

  • Well, for sure the Riverbankers are a little uncreative with namegiving (since there are in general so few animals but 2 Bills/Williams)

PS: I kinda laughed at the assistant when I realized that his name was Bert. I could've imagined him having any possible name but Bert! XD

  • In the rescue Billy Bunny says Uncle Bert helped him make a 'funny bunny' with a handkerchief. :P

  • wow i only just found out that charles gray voiced the stranger. i knew that voice from somewhere but couldnt place it

  • @asylumclown I only just recognised it myself

  • nostalgic purposes? no matter what the time now, these vids are really awesome! wish, they would be shown on the tv now instead of those kakemons or whatever!

  • The first episode based round the weasels. that I know off

  • I have this episode on video.

  • The first time I'd seen this episode and excellent picture quality, too! Thank you.

  • Who the heck is this weasel? This top-hatted, upper class-dialected, watcher weasel?

  • Badger kinda depicks him as the devil. A wonder who cause chaos where he see fit.

  • The same weasel model was used in an episode about a perpetual motion machine and that weasel character was some relation to the cheif or something like that.. not the same as this weasel character though the voice is different.

  • Is that true? What episode was it called?

  • I believe the episode in queestion was called Toad In Motion and was in Series 5.

  • Could you upload that episode if you have it?

  • He really looks like a devil, his pale colour and the dark circles around the eyes, black suit... A bit creepy!

  • Thanks for the upload!
