  • This is the game that started the greatest period for American wrestling games. This, WCW World Tour, WCW Revenge, WWF Wrestlemania, and WWF No Mercy still cannot be touched. Even Fire Pro cannot equal them.

  • @CombatSportFan Considering Fire Pro isn't American...

  • @Fehnrique There were Fire Pro Games ported to the US which is exactly what the first three WCW THQ games were; ports of Japanese games.

  • @CombatSportFan This game was a port of Virtual Pro Wrestling, that much is true. World Tour could be considered the American counterpart to VPW64. Not sure if I'd call Revenge a port as much as it is the successor to World Tour.

  • WCW Thubder was the best game they out out in my opinion, but this was pretty good too.

  • This game was so much better than Nitro and Thunder. Underrated game imo. I remember markin out like a lil bitch when i hit a sitdown powerbomb. I was only 8 when i played it though lol

  • I loved the fact that you could create your own championship belts and defend them and the game actually kept a title history. I thought that was so cool back in the day. This game got a lot of use until WCW/NWO World Tour was released for the 64. World Tour was so revolutionary for me at the time. I played the crap out of the game.

  • @GoongalaGoongala Yeah i also loved that fact the first time i played it because i was so amazed that they had that option in 1997 because i thought that idea started in smackdown vs raw and wcw/nwo world tour was an excellent game.

  • @trosber2 I was always curious as to what attires they made for "Sting", considering, both WCW vs. the World & WCW vs. nWo: World Tour were released before Starrcade '97, Sting's first match as "The Crow" gimmick.

  • WCW >> The World

  • lol o shit i remember this game i got it for christmas but this guy sucks he dont kno how too jump off the ring poles o what

  • WTF. Back in the day my friend had this and we used to play for hours and I thought it was so cool. I had n64 and there wasnt a WCW game YET (there was a while later).... But I remember this game being so cool, now looking at this vid its like WTF it looks like a piece of crap.

  • @simoneyes101 Lol that is true but looking back at it. it is better than half the smackdown vs raw games that we have seen in the past.

  • @trosber2 hell no this game was crap.the rest of the wcw games that followed were way better and improved

  • I think Blood is Muta.

  • @thedawn090 Yeah he was.

  • There's a guy with a red mask who does a move called the blood transfusion. It's like a neck crack.

  • @thedawn090 The guy with the face paint was called Bad Blood and was The Great Muta. A lot of the roster in the game was made up of actual Japanese talent with their names changed.

  • Is it me or does the ref who does the count has Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Forces voice

  • I still have this game.

  • what a fuck, the song is from Street Fighter!

  • Oh my lord

  • whats up with the song, it's like a ripoff of SFII!

    This game blowzzzz

  • Only wrestling game i have never played.

  • Gosh, I loved this game back in the day. In my opinion, the best wrestling game ever. Back when I played this I didn't know the meaning behind the "Spirit" meter. Now I know all about Japanese "fighting spirit" and all that. Was this a port of an existing Japanese game?

  • imo this was the best actual wrestling games ever made by thq only thing that held this from being perfect were no tag team every thing was singles and the normal punches and kicks other than that u could get any better than this all of follow ups to this only beat this game by graphics nwo world tour could have had it but it sacrificed the move sets and depth with graphics imo only graphics held this game back the moves were crazy in this game

  • i use to have this game. this game sucked compare to the other wcw games they would release later on.

  • These were the days, I remember getting this game Christmas 1997.

  • at 3:17 the "5" sounds funny

  • if i remmebr didint this game have secret characters like a santa an other crazy guys

  • @wolfpack22100 your getting it mixed up with wcw nitro

  • Abispa which is Jushin Liger is the best

  • HADOUKEN!!!!

  • @chingaso316LOST SNK>>>>street fighters

  • First game I bought on the Ps1 . When I saw all those non wcw dudes, I was like, Who the fuck are these weirdos

  • @ratnick those people were actual real wrestlers from other organizations with name edits it would be like fire pro wrestling making wrestlers and editing the names

  • The music during the match sounds like Ryu's stage theme in SFII. Thumbs up if you agree!

  • @lionheartSONIC21 lol, hell yeah! a remixed version.

  • @TheRyux

Thank you, although it's hard to tell. Nonetheless it's still kinda there. But I'm glad you hear it though.

  • The intro's music was also on WCW Nitro. and yes always pick Sting.

  • @OreoMan951 Jushin Lyger owns Sting, but not by much

  • @OreoMan951 Jushin Liger owns Sting but not by much

  • y is the Dragon fat lolol I love this game

  • "even the n64"

No shit, it's a more powerful console.

  • thst is some suckie graphics even n64 has better graphic than this

  • This game is bad ass...I just brought it out of my collection and played it on my PS3...and it's still fun. Classic!

  • No it was my ps2 something was wrong with the laser

  • You need to clean your game disc. The music is skipping lol
