  • Great work!

I like hearing that defect detector at the end. Strangely, the detector's voice recently changed—now it transmits the readout in a female voice.

  • damn son u got a badass video of up 2001:D.. i just recently caught it as 2nd power in a stack train that came thru my home town arlington texas.. like 2 days ago:D

  • has some body stole that engine? why it is wondering alone, funny

  • I would love this unit in this paint scheme but UP will paint it in Armour yellow, so what is the use?

  • @Nathanrailfan: Someone spread a rumor that UP 2002 was going to be repainted Armour Yellow when it ended up in Jenks Shop in Arkansas for an overhaul. It got repainted alright, getting white stripes instead of blue, but otherwise the Olympic scheme remained. Just ignore the rumors and chase 'em while you can.

  • Loco was moving!!! Cool video.

  • Whaooooooo That SD70M Went Fast Like A Roadrunner

  • Hardly. 67 MPH is near the maximum for an SD70 - I think it's 74 MPH. If you want speed on rails, go to France - where they go 200+ MPH every day.

  • Only The EMD Of SD70M too me its like almost 80 MPH Buth There Top Speed Is Only 74 MPH The Can't Over 74 MPH That Really Berns Up The EMD And BTW I Don't Got To France Trust Me I Wouldn't Like It There.........

  • O my gawd,

  • That unit is old enough and obsolete. EMD is in trouble.DC traction motors are being replaced by AC. Its more fuel efficent and more reliable. It has some great speed though I must admit, but it has NOTHING on a 4400 or 6000 horsepower GE!!!

  • Nice to see a locomotive by itself

  • awesome, pretty cool with only one unit

  • Great locations! 5*

  • that paint would have looked NICER on a AC44

  • awesome

  • Hu, awesome ;D

  • Axle Count: SIX. Train Speed: SIX, SEVEN. Detector out.

  • why is he by him self?

  • @krazyjk022 pick up baretables there later that day.

  • Well, I'm no rocket scientist....but in reading the description, it says: "It's going light power from Oakland to Gonzales, scheduled to pick up baretables there later that day". Just a little bit of legwork reveals a world of information. :-)

  • haha thank you but whats a baretable?

  • Baretables are empty well cars or spine cars. Well cars carry containers and spine cars carry trailers, in general.

  • Wow it looks so weird seeing a loco all by its lonesome! Great catch!

  • Nice Shots 5/5

  • How do you find out about special trains like this one come through different areas around CA and beyond?

  • Go to yahoo groups and search for the following train reporting groups, then join:

    headsupnorcal

    headsupcoastfans

    headsupsocal

  • loved the last shot.

  • that needs to go to a museum when they are done with it. 5/5 awesome catch!

  • no get him running on alot more

  • i meant when the unit is old enough and obsolete..rather then scrap it in 20 years they should donate it
