The fact that Batman, a normal human, assaulted DARKSEID, a freaking physical GOD, is impressive enough on its own. Dodging the Omega Beam is just icing on the cake.

I love this moment. One of the greatest in the long history of the DCAU. And as far as Batman avoiding it, I always figured it was Darkseid being his arrogant self and this time, it cost him a kill. And of course it helps that Batman is as close to the peak of human conditioning as is possible in the DC Universe.
While Batman is awesome, this is just ridiculous. Batman is a human, his brain shouldn't even be able register anything before the beam erases him from existence. But, then again, maybe Darkseid knows how awesome Bats is and decided to slow his beams down so Batman actually has a chance.

@PaulAnt2008 I saw that and still swear that's not the Omega Beam. The Omega Beam is red and moves in angles, rather then that white beam which, when used again in the battle, curled in a circle. I nicknamed it the Alpha Beam, since it looks like a lesser variant on the Omega Beam =P

Actually in this cartoon Superman does dodge the Omega Beam. This line confused me, until I justified it in that Darkseid might just be commenting on a normal being doing it.

Actually in this cartoon Superman does dodge the Omega Beam. This line confused me, until I justified it in that Darkseid might just be commenting on a normal being doing it.

In DCAU, Darkseid is biggest, darkest villian and Batman is the first, greatest hero. I'm a Superman fanboy, and even I know he takes a backseat to Batman in the cartoons

@KryptonianLuis I meant with the cartoons. Batman TAS came out in 1991 or 92 Superman TAS not til 94-95. Could be wrong on the dates, but either way, Batman was there first, and he's clearly Bruce Timm's favorite character as hes the easiest to write for and easiest to identify with (Timm's words, not mine) As for me I know I'm no genius and am not set to inherit several billion dollars if my parents were murdered, so take for it what you will

@Rollingstonesfanboy exactly what has he done that u consider bullshit? everything he's done has been explained and its not like he goes around and beats people with one punch, he outsmarts them and uses his skills to get them into a position where he has the upper hand, thats wats so cool about him. just like in this vid he didn't use super speed to get away from the beams, he put a body in place of his own at the last second, a move that even impressed darkseid.

@KroniKKidZ28 Kinda makes sense in a strange way, since Batman WAS the FIRST entry in the DCAU, with Batman: The Animated Series (which in many's minds, is THE best DCAU series, as well as the series that launched the whole 'darker-and-edgier-more-serious animated series trend in the 90s).

@mephatboi This is what I keep telling people. Superman, who is far faster than Batman can only dodge his beam some of the time. But Batman, on his first try, dodges it. He did'nt dodge it in Final Crisis though lol.
