overclocking just means you are taking your "parts" and running them at a much faster rate then "stock" more fps in games and such and more potential.

downside...it lowers the life span of the parts, and could also get to the point where you need to replace the parts all together

if you build it right, you shouldnt have to overclock it

Didn't watch the entire vid, but the limitation you're experiencing is most likely due to 32 bit system/OS. Which can address maximum 4GB. Now that includes all devices, so if you have a graphic card with 1GB you'll only see 3GB of RAM. This is the main reason why 64 bit computers appear. If you have 64 bit cpu you'll need 64bit OS to utilize its benefits.

may 2007 man this card was the SHIT back then. i still got 8800 gtx from like 1.5yrs ago with a dual core 4ghz e8500 (oc'd of course) and it runs every game out there no problem at all. BTW get the free rivatuner (from guru3D), it takes a good 5 minutes of staring at it to understand it, but it will give easy 20-30% extra power from the video card.

First rewire your rig, it is a mess. better ventilation= higher CFM= cooler temps. Those E6600's run hot as hell. If thats an Aurora case you should have some room behind the motherboard tray. Also, XMS2's timings are not as balanced for Intel based rigs. You could lower your fsb/cpu multiplier and boost the frequency, it will make you rig more powerful, but it will demand more power, and generate more heat. raise the FSB voltage, keep your ram timings at 4-4-4-12, 2.1 v.
