  • "If you hear it fire, you're already dead" Damn man. Now how you gonna hear it, but you already dead? "Easy. Cause you alive when you die, and you dead when you hear it" But choo dead when you hear it. How you gonna be dead and hear it? "Cause you alive when you get shot" Damn...that's some quantum shit! (Spoof of Scary Movie 3)

  • 2:34 Now that's how you aim with Springfield

  • Can someone tell me if the 7.62x63(30-06) is more powerfull than the 7.62x51(308. Win) although both are the same lenght??

  • @MrRamil678

the amount of gunpowder in the .30-06 is more.

  • @iamnobodyism In fact, I wont be suprised to find this weapon in the hands of Ingush or Chechen rebels today.

  • I cherish my 1903 Springfield, but it does not belong in this group. Produced in too few numbers for WWI and replaced by the M1 Garand for WWII it was a star of the interwar period and great depression. The 98 Mauser eclipsed the 1903 in innovation and service length. Both US rifles of WWI (M1903 and M1917) were derived from the Mauser design so the Mauser alone deserves merit here. The mag cutoff is the only real functional difference between the two. Still a great rifle though.

  • @vl5150 Nagant should be on the list.

  • How come Germans weren't happy with this rifle?

  • Sweet rifle. I have an 03A3 made in 1944. 4 groove barrel, still has the original 2 tone parkerized and blue finish.

  • i dont hate any country i feel the russians are pretty cool i mean look at the weapons they made. i know a lot of people like the m16 and m4 but the ak47 is what id rather use because i love a good sized caliber. the .223 is fine but 7.62X39 has alot more potential. and on the krag subject it was a fine rifle but the ability of a speed loader makes a rifle so much better. think of it this way you have a revolver and the other guy has a revolver with a speed loader. which would u rather have?

  • best gun: requires no ammo, no aiming, kills on thought (not even sight), infinite range, 1 person at a time.

mmmm but that would be a bad thing too, right?

  • When you hear it fires, you're already dead! LoL what a joke! Well it's good exaggeration.

  • i think this list was rated good budidk about the klashnikov bein first maybe like third or foourth tho..

  • this amerikan gun is both deadly and accurate the silent death

  • @MrJurongwest The reason I like this gun is because I own it.

  • the krag wasnt a bad rifle it just wasnt able to take stripper clips giving it a rather slow reload time when compared to its rival the mauser.

  • @motlencore89 I'm not an expert on those type of rifles, but the krag didn't have the strength or reliability of the Mauser action.

  • i liked the KRAG-JORGENSEN though :(

  • surely Mosin Nagant should have made the list instead of this copycat...biased yanks and their shows

  • @kimskis Then why did the AK make #1?

  • kraag jorgensen is the original rifle for the norwegian soldiers back in the 1900s.

if someone says its from sweden, their sadly mistaken

  • Imagine if they had a full-auto Springfield? That would be great!

  • Press "like" if you love all guns :D

  • @STL308 I like the video, not your comment. :(

  • Why does a copy of an innovative rifle (mauser) deserve to make the list? Mosin Nagant 37 million produced, long service history, defeated Nazi Germany and didn't make the list?!?

  • @Goatoftheforest Yea, i prefer a Mosin over this overpriced copy of a Mauser any day. I was surprised the Mosin didnt make the list.

  • @Goatoftheforest

I think it was rather the PPSH and the T-34 that defeated the nazi's, at the end of WW2, the PPSH was the 3rd most used weapon by the german army cause it was so effective :P

  • @xTheGerbilx I agree that those were very effective and important weapons in defeating Nazi Germanybut this is a top ten list of rifles, not submachine guns or tanks. I can't blame them for using captured PPSh's instead of MP-40's. Russian weapons rock

  • how can the M1903 and Mauser 98 be on the same list in different places? they are the same rifle!

  • @Treblaine no, it were bolt action, but still it was different. bullet size, trustable, range, and all those stuff

  • @GunMaker91 OK, is suppose technically they are different but the 8x57mm Mauser is so similar to .30-06 that the calibres are completely interchangeable with just a different barrel. They had the same range and how "trustable".

It's like fretting over the difference between an FN FAL and L1A1, same overall design yet the parts all SLIGHTLY different sizes so nothing is interchangeable between them.

  • @Treblaine maybe mausers better because the springfield was a ripoff of it? dunno...

  • @Treblaine Because the Springfield is better.

  • @Gunfan762 HOW is Springfield better?

You can't include how Americans had better training or ethos, this is not "Top 10 soldiers" this is "Top 10 Combat Rifles"

  • @Treblaine smoother action, better trigger, better sights (03A3 model).

  • @Gunfan762 action and trigger distinctions are insignificant: more variance from rifle-to-rifle than overall between M1903 and K98k. The Aperture sights, while arguably superior did not appear till VERY late in its service life with the M1903A3 that saw very limited service before being entirely replaced by the M1 Rifle, Garand.

M1903 and 98k are true peers.

  • @Treblaine I agree. They should have put the G3 rifle or the Mosin Nagant.

  • @esh325 The prowess of the Mosin Nagant I'd say is more down to the people who used them than the actualities of the rifle itself. G3 while distinct from FN FAL certainly lives in its shadow.

I'd say go back, FURTHER back, this doesn't limit itself to top-10 of 20th century, what about the Trapdoor Springfield? Martin-Henry? Or Henry Repeating rifle?

  • @Treblaine The Mosin Nagant was a very good rifle. Arguebally just as good as any other WW2 bolt action.

  • @esh325 It was good, but was it GREAT! I know you opinion, but how many others do you really expect to agree with you?

  • @Treblaine Perhaps not great. I've fired the Mosin Nagant and I like the handling of the Mauser rifles and Enfields better. The Mosin is slightly inferior perhaps. I don't think Russian soldiers were at a disadvantage when going up against Mauser armed German soldiers.

  • @Treblaine no their not dumbass.

  • @iiNeVeRShOOt Yes, THEY ARE!

You realise how stupid it makes you look calling me a dumbass, yet you are such a dumbass you don't know the difference between "their" and "they're".

So learn to spell, and learn firearm design.

  • @Treblaine yes, that was a pretty bad grammatical error. but the m1903 and the Mauser 98 are different rifles.

  • @iiNeVeRShOOt OK then, how are they different rifles?

The locking mechanism is identical, the magazine is identical, the cartridge is almost identical (same base, very slightly different calibre). The sights are the same (except the M1903A4 that saw hardly any service). Whatever can be said about the 98k can be said about the M1903. Don't be fooled by the semantics of nomenclature.

  • @Treblaine The only real difference in this list is "innovation". I don't see how that affects the rifle's performance, but I suppose this list is more about the impression it left on the soldiers both dealing and receiving the damage than actual combat effectiveness (which is only one of 5 factors they take into account).

  • @Treblaine i honestly think its becuase the mauser was the real inovation. were that rifle barrowed its concept. so the mauser is on higher becuase it was the one that started that rifle inovation.

  • @Merc065 Yeah, that doesn't explain why you shouldn't put them in the same slot as they are all but identical. The AK47 entry on this lists counts all the Chinese variants and those from other countries as evidence of its popularity.

  • @Treblaine yes i understand that point. however in terms of how were giving these weapons value. inovation seems to be the key there going by. for example. the AK47 is the orginal concept for the weapons systeam. the chinese verstions are for the most part, copys of it with some modes to make it better, but the princeple is the same. if i were to give props to the weapon, baise on concept. i would have to give it to the rifle that was the inovator of the idea.

  • @Merc065 By that logic the M1903 shouldn't be on the list at all, just like the Chinese copy of the AK47 (Type 56) isn't on here.

See, M1903 is as similar to the Mauser 98 as the Type 56 is to the AK47!

M1903 deserves props, but as a variant of the Mauser 98!

  • @Treblaine look mate is not that i disagree with you just tryen to explain this werid amarican documantrys logic :P

  • @Treblaine Mosin Nagant should be here instead

  • @Treblaine The M1903 is not the same. It does copy the action from the G98 Mauser but it was changed somewhat and fitted into a rifle that also incorperated features from the Krag Jorgensen rifle. Both rifles are not the same. Secondly they both served in two world wars and between and therefore deserve some attention.

  • @ginjaninja1988 What differences? The action IS the rifle! A slightly different shaped stock does not a unique rifle make.

It doesn't incorporate any significant features of the Krag-Jorgensen, like the unique magazine.

    List the specific changes.

  • @Treblaine Because they served different roles. The Mauser was the standard combat rifle for the Germans in both World Wars, by WWII the Springfield was a sniper rifle not the standard issued firearm (except for the Marines who fought on Guadalcanal, God Bless Them).

  • @southparkfan2717 Different roles, they are STILL the same weapon! This list is ONLY looking at Combat Rifles, for general infantry, not any application as specialist sniper weapons.

  • @Treblaine well, the mauser 98 has a smoother bolt action and its been around for about 10 years longer then the mauser 98 so that pretty much sums it up

  • @mexicanelitesniper Yeah, pretty much that IS it! It is not enough to differentiate the weapons by saying one is "slightly smoother" in any aspect.

That's like saying the FN FAL and British SLR are different enough to deserve separate entries.

Also, merely FIVE years separate their initial manufacture (Springfield 1903 had a late stage cartridge change, as did Mauser 98), shortages meant German soldiers were armed with Mauser 98 at almost the same time US Troops got the Springfield 1903.

  • All this hate towards Germans.

What about Einstein? Is he a Nazi then?

And although Americans have brutally slaughtered Native Americans throughout the whole 19th century, we don't call them Indiankillers and judge the personality of every American just because he is born in the same country. Same thing for Germans.

  • @thedudewiththeMG40 I agree with you. It's because the victors write history.

  • my favorite gun in COD2

  • So you could say that the springfield rifle in sort of a way is a "copy" of the german mauser rifle :S

  • @AlexS9403 The design was bought from Mauser. A few minor tweaks, but basically the same. However in this video they make it sound like the m1903 was a lot more accurate than the Mauser, which is not true at all.

  • @EnigmaNL I agree, the mauser is a better rifle than the m1903 springfield :)

  • @AlexS9403

    mauser what?

none of the fucking mausers ever had a mag cut off switch or even adjustable sights.

This rifle outshot everything of its era because of simple adj. sights. Its still in use by match shooters.

Comparing a Mauser to a 1903 is like comparing a volkswagen to a cadillac

  • @USMCM249gunner whats wrong with a volkswagen ? the 1903 is pretty much the same rifle as the Mauser rifle, in my opionion i think the mauser is better than the 1903.. end of period ..... :)

  • @AlexS9403

your opinion vs what happened at Bellau Wood and Blanc Mont.....

alot of Mausers littered the ground. Either dropped or surrendered to 1903 wielding Marines

thats what happens when you put v notch sighted rifles up against target grade rifles.

  • @EnigmaNL

30-06 has been proven to have a better ball. coeff. than 8mm Mauser. The 1903 rifle had fully adjustable sights, something that was totally unheard of in 1908. You wont see a single K98 at Camp Perry in competition, let alone outshooting a 1903 Spring.

No one with any peep sight experience would say that a v notch sighted rifle was more accurate.

The 1903 only adopted the box magazine and locking lugs from the Mauser bolt design, apart from that it looked more like a Krag

  • The M1903 kicks a good bit more than the Garand, but damn. 656 yards, firing the .30-06. Damn fine rifle.

  • Why weren't the Germans happy about this gun?

  • @Sgtkillbot Because this gun killed them. Not very likeable.

  • @vaahtobileet i bet mosin nagant killed more ; D

  • @Lapinmiez Probably yeah. Saivat venäläiset/neuvostoliittolaiset itsekin maistaa oman kiväärinsä luoteja talvisodassa.

  • @Lapinmiez

yea no shit... there was more mosins than there were enfields and 03s combined.

More mosin carrying people also died than than those who carried the M1 and 1903.

  • This gun has helped in plenty of meals at my house.

  • if i were a cowboy this is my baby my courage and my love

  • My god is it too much to ask to be able to watch ONE video and view comments that DONT have a bunch of idiots arguing over something that happened over half a century ago?

  • They say its a copy of the Mauser, so why not just review the Mauser?

  • i ask for no sympathy

  • The Springfield was a damn good rifle, although a copy of the Mauser action. Germans know how to machine things well, we can't hold that against them.

  • i bet this is more accurate than the german bastards mauser you germans are just jealous of amerika coz your army will never be as strong as their forces because your soldiers are mentally and physically retarded a comment from Russia

  • @dimitboris CAN U PLZ STOP THIS HATING!? THE FREAKING WW2 PASSED! WHY DO U HAVE A GRUDGE AGAINST THE GERMANS ANYWAYS? and anyways, if Russia and France and Britain hadn't worked with United States against the Germans, the United States army would have been completely annihilated. its a fact!

  • @bebe4235 fuck germans until now you piggy fucktard pieces of shits still think you germans the best army when in fact your army and people are just a bunch of fucktard sons of bitches you german pigs cant even beat the british alone in the battle of britain you cant even defeat the americkans when you fought them one on one in battle of the bulge and us in stalingrad your all accursed evil people of europe you must all die at once!!!

  • @dimitboris First of all,I am not a German, second, the war ended over 60 years ago,GET OVER IT! third, stop hating on the Germans alive today, stop hating on them for what you THINK they are not all of them were at Stalingrad, and I am sorry for what the Nazis did to make you so furious, I am, but get over it. Fourth, please read a dictionary, I am really tired of you repeating the same words over again. Fifth, please, I ask you to forgive them. Like I forgave the man who killed my uncle.

  • @bebe4235 my grudge of those accursed people are just high i really cant tolerate a german even a german girl i literally hate them ill hate them forever

  • Comment removed

  • @dimitboris

    You're not human.

    Drop dead.

Oh silly me, I meant: DROP DEAD COMRADE.

    Fascist motherfucker.

  • @LoggotyroX32 one more thing nazi ss stupid soldier motherfucker you drop dead you german fascist son of a bitch!!!!!!!!!!! your not human your military and people should protest towards him yet you did not you germans are soo evil simple you should be wiped out and extinct as a race!!!! >:)

  • @dimitboris

Can you tell me how i am german exactly? I am a Swede. Oh and why the racism? :D

  • @LoggotyroX32 för att han är en kommunist xD

  • @AlexS9403

    Haha ja. Lmfao. Trolololo :D

  • @LoggotyroX32 you drop dead and suck shitlers cock you swede nudist shit ass :D

  • @dimitboris

I thought we had settled this, mate. :D

  • @LoggotyroX32 i just dont like you calling russia fascist country i could say sweden a shit nudist nation :D

  • @dimitboris

Ah yes. The thing is: That comment was written a month ago. And it was posted BEFORE the truce. :D

  • @bebe4235 the one who killed your uncle is a german he just showed how evil and tyrant and germans are secret nazis!! if i were the president of russia i will re establish the ussr then wipe out the whole german people by invading germany killing all german people and so no more german bacteria and poison of this world!!!!!!

  • @dimitboris then aren't you being just as evil as the Germans?? wow...hypocrite

  • @bebe4235 the man who killed your uncle is a German so as i say Germans are all fucking evil lamb they should not be treated with respect and they should be bastardise each and every German when we Russians stormed berlin that was the happiest impact in our army and if soviet russia returns there are rumors here we will wipe the germans out :D

  • @bebe4235 the reason why i hate germans coz i am a russian they invaded and fucked my beloved russia in ww2 and they almost succeeded in annihalating us but however we dug in and we fought back and we defeated them thats how bad they are

  • @dimitboris Dude, relax. The war ended 66 years ago. Germans killed my countrymen as well and most white Americans have German heritage. I hold nothing against the Germans, they were doing what they were told to do. I hate Nazis but most German soldiers were regular men just fighting for their country and weren't Nazis at all. I know Russia took huge casualties but how many Russians died under collectivization by starving due to communism? Germans paid dearly for that war.

  • @the308capital but not yet enough as a payment they must suffer more i really cannot tolerate german people

  • @dimitboris What the Japanese soldiers did to American POWs was barbaric and reprehensible, but I don't hate the Japanese today. Just like most Japanese don't hate Americans for the atomic bombings. Hell, German Americans fought and killed German soldiers during the war. The Allied Supreme Commander Eisenhower was a German American. Germans today aren't the same as the ones from the 1930s.

  • @the308capital i dont hate german americans theyre americans but pure germans i really really cant tolerate them

  • @bebe4235 we russians are not evil the germans are pls stop being soo blinded about them

  • @dimitboris I'm American and I don't think the Russians are evil. I like the Russians. Moskva is a beautiful city, the AK-47 is awesome, Russian women are so beautiful and I like t.A.T.y / t.A.T.u. I am also a fan of Yulia Volkova and Nina Tsvetkova is beautiful.

The German seige on Leningrad and the Germans killing 1.5 million Russians was just sad.

  • @e0o9kii good to hear because most western people views us russians are evil but i admit as a russian i like you amerikans too you are amazing :D i salute you men you are smart i like your m16s m1 garand 1903 springfield and colt m1911 .45 cal pistol

  • @e0o9kii and you cannot blame me as a russian hating germans because of ww2

  • @e0o9kii that is why we defeated them because how how evil they are!

  • Comment removed

  • @dimitboris dude stop being a racist! Why do you think the Americans got the inspiration to copy a German made weapon? Also, the German army was far superior than the American army. If Russia, France, and Britain didn't work with the U.S., the American army would have been annihilated. It's a fact.

  • Comment removed

  • @dimitboris you have not an live, not even a soul you racist!

  • Esta arma é muito boa. Tive oportunidade de usá-la na BM.

  • Honestly I really think they screwed up by not putting the Mosin Nagant in the top tens. The rifle is rugged, accurate, and reliable. It's been used in countless wars from 1891-present day as a sniper, as the Mosin Nagant sniper is still sometimes used by the Russian military. Also lots of insurgents in the middle east use them. I think the M14 was stupid to put in, it's just a modified Garand, and no more innovative then any other assault rifle of it's day.

  • @LacrosseRifleShooter The M14 was and is better than alot of rifles TODAY.

  • 2:34 hip firing a bolt action rifle? The hell? For close quarters?

  • Ha rate of fire 10 rounds per mintue. I would never trust a bolt action rifle with my life in ANY occasion but sniping. This is trash it shouldn't be NO.8 The enemy has semi guns and you have a bolt action one. Who cares if it takes one shot to put a man down, when your stressed and scared you'll shoot at anything and anytime, you see movement? BANG! That's what you do when your scared. You'll miss at least 3 times till you hit because you are so worried about death to consentrate at the target.

  • 30.06......means your head is gone.

  • @John8Cena8 I just shot a 30 .06 for the first time yesterday. I was impressed with its power and accuracy.

  • Combat Effectiveness and Handling are average? Not one rifleman I know would consider himself to be poorly armed with a 1903. They have to stop comparing it you modern day rifles. In it's prime it was extremely effective on the battlefield.

  • O___O

I didnt know it was also used in Vet War..

    1905-1960... WOW long time...

  • 16 germand whated this vid

  • and thats why the marines are better than the army

  • this is what you call a better mauser

  • wait, does this list go backwards?

  • Mauser's v notch sights are its biggest weakness.

The Marines at Bellau Wood used the P-17 30.06 rifle. The Springfield was in small numbers. It was one of the few rifles of the era that had its rear sight right above the bolt handle on the reciever. Increasing the distance between the two sights it made it way more accurate. And unlike any other rifle of that era, it had a fully adjustable rear sight and a front sight w/ wings on its sides, much like the M14s sight design.

  • I live near the Springfield armory. My grandfather worked there in the 50's and 60's as a mechanical engineer. They have a whole rack of these bad boys in a big room in the back. :)

  • Shouldn't be in there at all.

It's a recalibered Mauser - just bump the Mauser up a place and put in another weapon.

  • 0:55 Is this dude the same as the shooter in the video?

  • It's just a copy of the Mauser, like pretty much all bolt action rifles.

  • @godsmith3 except for the lee-enfield :)

  • @godsmith3

    thats an over generalized statement.

The WW1 Springfield is still in use in competitions.

No WW1-2 Mauser just by itself/uncustomized is capable of being tested on such a level

  • @Sturmmann No uncustomized .30-06 is in competition. And the .30-06 has been put to shame by the .308 cartridge in terms of accuracy, the rule of thumb for the .30-06 is 1 inch on inaccuracy for every 100 yards, which is not so with the 8mm or .308.

At competitions, .308 shooters where outshooting experienced .30-06 riflemen.

  • @Southern661

bullshit, Carlos Hathcock used a 30.06 Garand to win the Wimbledon cup in 1965.

.308 has potential but it isnt known for breaking many 30.06 records

this goes down as a matter of a personnal preference but to slander a legendary cartridge is dumb

  • @Sturmmann Yes, he did, against other shooters, with .30-06's. And those where no off the shelf M1's, either, they have been accurized. .308 has broken so many .30-06 records, that .30-06 is almost non existed in long range competition shooting.

Google "Sniper Country, accuracy facts. 30-06 vs .308"

It will also explain WHY the .30-06 isnt as accurate.

  • @Sturmmann Hathcock used 300 winchester mag to win the Wimbledon, but in Vietnam he shot a pre 64 model 70 winchester 30-06. and you are right, modern rifles today, that shoot a 7.62, such as the .308 have very very high capabilities. But higher calibers such as the 338 lapua mag is being used more and often. It also varies on the range of the shot and who is shooting. As a gun collector for 30 years, my newest rifle, a 280 Ackley Improved by Nosler Cutstom rifles might be the best i have shot.

  • @averylol

    you did your research...

Unfortunantely like many other shooters Im very biased and bined by rifle design when in search for calibers.

I go for rifle history and features, caliber usually isnt what I worry about.

I find 1,000 and 600 yard shots to be possible with 1903 Springfields and even M1s with good ammo (on match targets) That satisfies me, I dont try to push my luck after that often. 270s dont attract me at all either

  • @Sturmmann I agree totally with you on 270s. I have a couple 270s, and im not a fan. I have actually been looking to get rid of a few. It was my first deer rifle i purchased by myself in 68', The only reason i still shot it is because i have reloaded it for over 30 years and no what it will do. Along with most of other rifles. my most accurate gun is definitely my Sako 85' Deluxe 25-06.

  • @Sturmmann I am a new mexico and Texas hunter, sometimes shots vary from distances such as 120 yds all the way to 500, my .308 is a very good weapon and i use it from occasion to ocassion. Alot of the 30-06 records have remained unbroken, because of the comfortability of the shooters with that rifle. I love my model 70 pre 64 30-06. A greatness of a gun, mainly depends on the shooter and his/her comfortability with their firearm.

  • If you will read a little you will find Hathcock used a bolt action .300 Winchester Magnum to win the 1965 Wimbeldon Cup. The .30-06 is a great round but doesn't have the long range performance for the 1,000 yard range that Hathcock was firing at that day.

  • @Sturmmann Yes, the 30/06 breaks records today, but the .308 breaks bones today.

  • @Southern661 The .308 is really nothing past 800 meters. You should make some videos proving your points.

  • I own a sporterized 1903a-4, Remington make. I traded a cord of fire wood for this sweet little 30-06 about ten years ago. Hell I was only 16 and used it as my hunting rifle for few years before buying something new. All and all for the price I couldn't have asked for a better gun. The action my not be as smooth as a Mauser, or an Enfield but it's certainly not a bad rifle.

  • Weirdest hip fire I've ever seen.

  • This is my girlfriends favorite gun :3

  • funny, most of these top 10 rifles are from the U.S.

  • @CNX625

U.S has badass guns! I have an AK-47 but I prefer American guns!

  • @CNX625

Of course. The best firearms in the world are made in the US or Germany.

  • was the svt 40 by the russians any good? i heard the red army soldiers were pretty good but was it the man or the gun?

  • @clonesharpshooter101 the svt 40 was very good BUT they had so many different gas variations to cycle the action that it became very unreliable

  • 2:35..hip firing a 1903...give that man another set of balls, cause the two he has aren't enough for his godlyness!

  • @DaytonaRoadster I think it's a dumb tactic. The sights were built on the rifle for a reason, use them.

  • What a shitty gun.

  • grandfather of current sniper rifles.

  • The US develop the first radio control airplane in WW2. We could have research all of the thing German had but we chose not too. Reason is simple. We got the weapon that change the world forever.

  • Amazing the Germans developed the first operational...RPG aka Panzerfaust...and so many more revolutionary weapons. .

    jackzero99...

    The Germans invented the Panzerfaust?

You can correct me if I am wrong but I believe the Panzerfaust is pretty much just a copy of the American Bazooka...The bazooka was invented by a US Army Officer and the German Army pretty much copied that idea and developed their own versions of the bazooka for their soldiers

  • @jc1200u no the panzerfaust came before the bazooka

  • 10 rounds a minute my snow white ass, more like 25-30 rounds a min

  • @Jaahaah lol what kind of sniper could shoot like that. i mean its not game, its real life gun.

  • @nirvan5a Man look at 2:02, I counted at least 1 shot each second, easy 20 rounds a minute

  • arrogant yanks

  • LOL!!! The .308 has 2,799 fps and the .30-06 has 2,700!? What a load of shit, the .30-06 (7.62x63) has 12mm more cartridge capacity than the 7.62x51NATO! And what the fuck is up with having the Springfield on this list anyway? It's just a copy off of the Mauser G98, I think we even got sued for it ffs! Why wouldn't they have put the M1 Garand here, the first standard issue semi auto for any army?

  • @ImWatchinTheTube That was the original ammo issued with the M1903 it used powder that wasnt as efficient for the long case. The M2 ball ammo issued with the M1 Garand and M1903 later on puts out 2, 834ft/s at the muzzle. Its just the evolution of this things with time. Thats why we eventually went to the 7.62 Nato ball round for awhile because with the newer propellants that were coming out in the 50's you got practically identical ballistics out of a much shorter case. Less brass=less cost.
